when i do new sound my massive new sound settings are different from urs :( i think that it must have caused there to be a difference in my outcome of this tutorial because i did it about 6 times didnt work :( please HELP! thanks ! also i have a pirated version of massive would this cause it to have different default settings? im probably just gonna buy massive this weekend thank u!
Starts on a G. Other major notes are C,D,Eb and F one octave below middle C. Hopefully that should get people started. Brilliant tutorial though! More flux and skrillex tutorials please!
@dudearlo You have to learn the difference between mid-bass and sub-bass. Layering both of em to achieve your bass sound is the only way to make good dubstep. He explains in this tutorial that this is the mid-bass sound. If you want to learn how to make a good sub-bass sound, check another tutorial. It's basically just a highly compressed sine wave, with a slow attack phase on the compressor.
I'm an aspiring producer from southern california and phortysik's tutorials have helped me tremendously, if you could please check out my soundcloud and tell me what you think of my complextro song it would be much appreciated, thank you! soundcloud . com/ justin-mcguire / demo-song
listen, im not getting the same sound, i think its because im with fruity and when i open the massive channel i get different basic settings (like the new sound settings)
i can see it because some things in your basic settings are different than mine... any idea what could i change in fl to get this sound (im getting like something close to this, but no distortion and wobble)
@SpiffDub In massive, go to the 'Global' tab, above the LFOs, once you're there click the 'Init Patch' button (Just under 1 Env). This will give you the patch that he starts with :).
i want to name my next tune after you keep the vids coming maybe you could do a tutorial on how to make the synth used in Nero's track 'Guilt' or even 'Inocense' i think thats how ya spell it peace out man
idk i followed every step and for someone reason it sounds totally different..its not even sound near to fluxs bass. is it probably because i have a different version? mine is 1.0...
Why do you even upload these video, the only thing you are doing is copying the sound. I agree, it sounds great. But it would be better with examples. I want to hear what's happening while you are turning the N0bs. So that everyone could take something out and create their own peace(Inspiration). Otherwise you could upload the project and that's it. I learn music with ears, not with my eyes..
@explicitskillstv Unclear? how so? He explains everything he is doing in decent depth. my advice is to find what all the vocabulary he used that you don't understand means, and i guarantee much will be cleared up, and you don't learn anything when you just get the patches no do you?
Can u also make a tutorial on the bass in You Got 2 Know that sounds like its saying "roll roll roll, roll roll roll, roll roll roll, roll roll roll.? Its the bitcrushed one
Can someone explain to me how he uses massive within ableton? because that is what i'm wanting to get done eventually buti dont know what i'd need or anything
Hey man thanks for this, i have searched for so many hours looking for the precice sound and i think this one fits that spot! props! going to your channel now to sub and look for more awesome guides! and please check out one of my songs if you get a chance :) theyre all unfinished but theyre a start atleast :P
Dude thank you so very much for this tutorial. I was really looking to make that signature Flux sounds and you nailed and you gave the instructions beautifully. Kudos my good man, kudos.
@DuBStepHeadz he pretty much uses only G.. A.. Bb.. C.. and D... more where the middle C is on the keyboard. just play around with the rhythm and im sure you'll get the right notes.
if you want amazing, free snares (skrillex/koan sound style) all you gotta do is:
1. sub me
2. pm me your email :D
