This video brings back old memories... My buddies and me used to have Mofas in the school time, we were tinkering around every weekend. Man we had a good time back then... Sadly the police confiscated my KTM Pony oneday, it had really fast Sachs 503 engine with 2-speed automatic gearbox. It did wheelies in 1st =)

The Maxis of my buddies were pretty fast too, they are very easy to tune.

I have a '76 Maxi 2hp. Can get up to about 35 on flat road. Not sure how fast I topped out at with 20% nitro...

If anyone does decide to head over to their local hobby store and pick up some nitro keep in mind that the float needle will swell and become useless. Just pull the needle and float out and use the petcock to occasionally fill the bowl. Actually...if you care about your moped you probably wouldn't want to run nitro through it. I ran about a quart through mine and never did it again.

Yep. :D Does H on the speedometer with stock sprockets.. mine did M with stock sprockets. ALTHOUGH..You should have went with the 80cc metrakit and 21mm Dellorto carb (went all out the first time). I would cry if mine had that little acceleration. I put an 18 tooth sprocket on.. hit the pin at 0 and broke the speedo. =[ It was smart to take the 40 mph pin out BTW. I figured new exhaust while I'm at it. Technigas Performance exhaust.. I'll put a video up when I get it if you would like to see. :D

Its funny to see this video, Because here in The Netherlands Puch moppeds are seen on almost every street corner... and a lots of the reach speeds of 50,60 mph.

I once had a Puch Maxi mopped that had a top speed of 46 mph but then 2 weeks later i had an accident with a car.. there whas practicly nothing left of my puch..

Our moppeds have there own license plates now.. bit sad.. but what the heck.. gives the gouverment some more to spend on the war XD

(probably late compared to american conditions, in Denmark you can also first get your car license when you are 18.)

HAHA YES SWEET!! Mine's a '78 that I bought stock in awesome condition. Now my little girl has grown to a man with quite possibly the same motor you have on yours. It does M on the MPH symbol. (Same speedo as yours too!) Haha this is awesome seeing someone else with one. They scream so loud once you get rid of the stock exhast. =] And you're right..lots of swearing involved. But its worth it.

Nice Puch Maxi you've got. Is it from 1977? Are you from the States? Well, this is my Puch Maxi. It's also from 1977 and I'm from Denmark. It was populare in the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and it still is. Notice the green box on the rear end of my Puch Maxi. It's a box for milk taken from til Milk company in Denmark. Everybody does that. It's very handy :)
