  • I haven't seen that Puffa Puffa Rice commercial since the summer of '67; 43 years ago.

  • Yep, that was Olan Soule pitching Pop-Tarts off-camera in 1967- the same year Kellogg's introduced Puffa-Puffa Rice.

Sterling said, "Somebody good made 'em....Heinz".

And Heinz discovered, as with their famous "Great American Soups" ad featuring Ann Miller, (and conceived by Stan Freberg), that nobody REALLY wanted to try them....they eventually got out of the soup business [except for "food service" to restaurants, cafeterias, et. al.].

  • What does Sterling Holloway actually say at the end of the "Happy Soup" commercial (that is, after they sing the "Happy Soup" jingle)?

  • I remember that soup! Once I found a dead mouse in can. Funny thing though. In that same can I also found a tiny pair of red shorts with big buttons, a pair of tiny white gloves and a pair of yellow shoes. I wonder.............

  • I thought I heard the voice of Olan Soule (The voice of Batman in the 1968 Filmation Batman cartoons and 1970's Hanna-Barbera Superfriends cartoons) as the voiceover in the 1960's commercial for Kellogg's Pop Tarts.
