  • Our brain!!!!!!!!

  • I am not enthralled with his speech

I think he is a cunning linguist and a master bater

I am sick at my heart that he is president

I think that any patriot American should vote this disease out of office

I do not think he is the first black president

I hope we can what dignity he has lost us around the world.

  • @hangemhighification Stop drinking the kool-aid

  • Religion is based on bibles which has so much hatred for those who did not believe in your values. Should I be told I will go to hell then the Bible is wicked . Why should I be dictated by anyone I love bacon sandwiches so as an atheist jew will I go to hell. Not nice to condem someone to what one thinks is violent.I believe Obama is trying to love everyone. I do not believe the bible.

  • @OutSpokenGamer "You atheist need to start thinking for yourself. Look into the history of secular logic instead feeling good about refuting a book because you dont know how to comprehend the scripture. Ask yourself, why would allow a man who doesn't know how to comprehend scripture to tell you if you should believe it our not.

If you let the choices that they make (Bush) based on there faith provoke your perspective on the Bible. Then you've already fallen"

    What are you talking about?

  • The opposite of a secular government is a theocracy, in which every law is bound by dogma. Do all of you evangelical Christians really want to live in an America that is controlled by religion day in and day out?

  • @SlayerGilgamesh Sadly, they do.

  • Obama is NOT a Christian. he is probably an atheist, and that's a good thing!

  • Obama is a douche, but I agree with him here. People need to keep religion private. Your religions and gods are your own, not mine. I don't have gods. I'm not worshipping anything, but sexy women.

  • I wish the video wasn't cut and shopped up so much, I don't trust videos with so many edits, does anyone have the full version?

  • He helped the gays get married, helped feminist get the Law of Lili passed, now he's helping the atheist bitch about God not being real... Well its clear the type of crowd hes trying to get to vote for him.

This guy is just as dumb or dumber then Bush, if he can't understand the moral foundation of the bible.. or maybe he does but doesn't care, thats worse

  • @OutSpokenGamer Dude...Bush thought he was doing GOD'S work with the shit he did.

  • @Gazgule WTF does Bush have to do with individual Christians? This is the problem with the logic of you atheist. Your the same as the idiotic feminist who believe all men are rapists and pigs. Bush is not a real Chrisitain BTW, the guy is a known member of Skull and Bones. WAR IS OBVIOUSLY NOT "GOD'S WORK" So knowing this from scripture you would be smart enough to know he is not a real Christian..

Does it boost your ego trying to refuting God? does it make feel all smart and witty inside?

  • @Gazgule You atheist need to start thinking for yourself.

Then you've already fallen.

  • He degrades scripture that created some of the greatest ideas for Nations to follow... Witch is scary. He is embarking off the ignorance of our society. A crowd full of idiots to dumb to understand why these scriptures are important to there very own lives. This comment section scares me, as people dont even understand the history of secular gov.

  • Europe has hi jacked our Government. Some people don't seem to know there history. Whoever agrees with this man, needs to look at history from a bible perspective...Alice A Bailey ring a bell to any of you? anyone heard of marxism?? Our government was fine as it was, no need to have a movement against the Christians. Everyone is already free, what you dont see is this speech is really about taking your freedom..

  • @OutSpokenGamer Who do you think were the first people to truly settle this land?

  • @Gazgule What are you talking about?

  • He's right on the money with this. It's quite surprising to see an American politician be so secular, let alone a presidential one.

  • I don't generally agree with Obama, but in this area, he is absolutely right.

The ONLY reasonable way to freedom of religion is a secular government, anything else will inevitably lead to discrimination based on faith, which is, by it's very nature, unverifiable.

  • I have a lot of points of contention with Obama, but... GodDAMN this reminds me of what a breath of fresh air he is. Watching this felt good. Obama's a good guy.

    @drrobertoboogie97

    Unitarian Universalists. Baha'i.

  • osama is not a christian you turd. he is a nutcase just like you. If you don't like this country then get the fuck out, move to europe there just like all you nut jobs that like osama I mean obama lol rejects......

  • Jesus is the only way to salvation no JESUS THEN NO GOD UNDERSTAND!

  • first of all he is very feeble minded and what a shame it is he is leading our nation he reads the bible with his carnal mind and cannot understand the word of God, this is what u voted for ???? this is what u wanted to lead our nation???/ this nation will be great only if it is a nation who puts God first not false gods like buddha!! all i can say is get yourself right with God seeing this tells me troublesome times are ahead!!!

  • Thank Fuck for Obama, it's such an important message to get across to people.

  • JESUS BE GONE!! GOD STAY WITH US.

  • "Where the laws that we have being originated?"

The Human Imagination!!! The same place ALL religions originated. The same place human culture originated, the same place civilization originated.

  • "History fails to record a single precedent in which nations subject to moral decay have not passed into political and economic decline." ~General Douglas MacArthur

  • Wow! the most inteligent and bright president, dosn't understant the Bible. Where the laws that we have being originated? Where it come from? What kind of person are you if you don't have any moral? Oh, I know, him, an anbigual person.

  • You Obama are full of crap you don't know your Bible and you don't understand God the Father or God the Son or the Holy Spirit You are a lier and and it's the kuran that are still in the dark ages who Stone women and cut off heads cut off hands and do honor killing Jesus changed all that i really petty you

  • u can see he's in a whole other league then bush is:)

  • "folks haven't been reading the Bible!" love that

  • there is superstitious, in america...

  • Unbelievable, can you ever imagine Bush making such a speech. At last a president who can think.

  • You, Mr. Obama, may want to pick up your Bible before quoting out of context. How easy to dismiss the prinicples of Christianity when you are ignorant to what you are discussing.

  • @Smurfy0617 Just shut the fuck up. The ONLY way to accept religion is through ignorance.

  • @myREALnameISiam WOW! Is this the type of "tolerance" that the "progressive" left preaches? If we don't like what you say or believe, "shut the **** up?" I believe you are showing a bit of your own ignorance. You and Obama are made for each other.

  • @Smurfy0617 You really don't listen well. No wonder you still 'believe' in god. Obama says IN THIS VIDEO that you (christians) are not reading your bible. If you did, you would NEVER mention the word "tolerence". How many people has your god killed for not believing in him? The answer is none because the bible is a fairy tale. The killers are the ones who read the fairy tales and believe that they are making their god happy by murdering people. How easy to dismiss logic when you are a christian.

  • @myREALnameISiam You are so right (or Left). I don't use the word tolerance because the Left has changed the meaning if the word to promote moral relativism in our society. So, I propose that I should relate to all people with love and understanding instead.

Movement of the Jewish people and the life of christ are well documented. Ten of His Apostles died violent deaths spreading the Good News (also documented). Fairy tale? I guess everyone has to come to their own connclusion.

  • @Smurfy0617 That's it. You are what we intelligent people call willfully ignorant. I cannot argue with you. If I do you will refuse logic or contradict yourself. Grow up and stop living in a fantasy. You should do some research. Not christian research (Ray Comfort 'god designed banana' = FAIL) Look at things from an secular point of view and see that there are endless possibilities. God is a posibility but we have no evidence. God? Here's a real question. How many more people will religion kill?

  • @myREALnameISiam I told you before that I have lived life on my own terms in the society of moral relativism, and I found nothing of value their except lessons on going about life in the wrong manner, which I later used in ministry work.

I am baffled trying to determine why some people are so offended by Christainity. Is it our peaceful prayer demostrations that cause you so much grief? Is it the millions of third world people comforted by Christians regardless of faith that offends you?

  • @myREALnameISiam Yes, it is true that Christianity has had some dark times where people where killed in the name of God. I would agree that even one is too many. However, you cannot argue that God-less governments have been responsible for the deaths of millions of innocents. And that is just in the 20th century since the advent of communism. If ever there was an argument to bring God into the public square, this would be it.

  • @myREALnameISiam One more point; if you'd like a secular point, look no further than the birth of Philosophy with Plato and Aristotle. The Ancient Greeks certainly did not believe in God as I know Him, but both came to the conclusion that their was an original "creator of the forms" (P) or "unmoved mover" (A). Pretty much anybody who has asked questions about the meaning of life has based their research on the work of these two. Until recently, all philosophy pointed toward the existence of God.

  • @Smurfy0617 Thanks for proving my point. First, you are baffled at peoples' offense toward your religion. Then, you state why people are so offended. Your christian forefathers committed genocde against my ancestors and forced them from their land in god's name. That's pretty fucking offensive. Do you know what (A) & (P) didn't have? Electricty, Fossils, DNA, ect. They had no knowledge of science as we know it. If it isn't obvious, WE ARE GETTING SMARTER. Too bad the bible didn't predict that =P

  • @myREALnameISiam I find it amazing how elitists skip over relevant information in a discussion so that they can mold the argument to meet their needs. I find this behavior very narcissistic. Are you just refusing to speak about the evils of communism, or is the answer too obvious to engage?

What the heck do modern scientific advances have to do with the existence of God? They only prove that everything points back to an original Creator. This is the best you can offer?

  • @Smurfy0617 You are a moron. The evils of communism? What does communism have to do with religion? Modern science has picked apart religious opinions. The earth was not created <10,000 years ago. The life on this planet was not formed in a week. Everything has an explainable cause. Science makes discoveries all the time. It won't be long until we can 100% confirm abiogenesis. Then what will you say? Religion is losing ground. Nothing short of a public appearence from a god will change that.

  • @myREALnameISiam Why do you have to be so angry with your replies? You asked how many more people that religion would kill, so I decided to show you that MANY more have been murdered due to silencing religion. There will always be errant religious extremists who follow their own theology, but removing Christ from a nation altogether can prove fatal.

Actually, Christianity supports ethical scientific discovery. Only scriptural literalists say the earth was created in seven calendar days.

  • @Smurfy0617 I apologize for being an asshole. I see your point but if your religious texts weren't so extreme the countermeasures wouldn't be. Removing christianity from science is what made modern science what it is today. What you believe does not void the fact that christianity is STILL trying to teach that non-scientific theory in schools. Do you see how you are being willfully ignorant and contradicting yourself. Still wonder why I get frustrated? Look at how much time we waste on religion.

  • @myREALnameISiam Apology accepted. I believe that if you reviewed the history of science, you'd find that a number of renown scientists responsible for many foundational theories were devoutly religious. The list includes, but is not exclusive to, Einstein, Pasteur, DARWIN, Freud, and Galileo. I'd like to see some of the great Christian philosophers covered in school as well. A complete history of Philosophy can't be taught without their works in my opinion. Wasted time is not the common opinion

  • @Smurfy0617 Look at the history of rapists. You will see that a number of them are "devoutly religious". That does not void the fact that those scientists were threatened with death BY THE CHURCH for their claims. You are not getting my point. Christians want "intelligent design" taught, not philosophy. And have you heard of "intelligent falling"? These are NON-scientific 'theories'. They do not contribute to science in any way. They exist only to please the church and we are sick of it.

  • @myREALnameISiam I am getting your point. The number of Fundamentalists pushing for Intelligent Design is very small in number, but you prefer to place their agenda on the whole of Christianity. I would agree with them that it's a tragedy that faith is being completely abolished from the educational cirriculum. I can't understand why the educational elitists are so afraid to include the Christian perspective in Philosophy since it dominates an entire period of history (350-1600).Too much to ask?

  • @Smurfy0617 Umm, yes. Separation of C/S. You can teach morals without teaching religion. Wow. The fact is, if there is one person that commits atrocities in the name of religion, that is too much. The truth is that BILLIONS upon BILLIONS of people have been abused and murdered because of religion. It is time for us to address that. I realize that you still haven't addressed abiogenesis either. We have shown that about 99% of the processes that form life happen naturally. Evolutiontion? DNA? ???

  • @myREALnameISiam Billions upon billions? And what resource did you use to uncover this revelation? The fact that you actually believe in ambiogenisis shows me that you only fill your head with info that will support your ideology. This is supported by your lack of knowledge of structured religion. I prefer facts, not opinions. Think what you will, but Christianity does more good worldwide than any government, and that speaks volumes. I prefer good works over "intelligence" any day. I'm out.

  • @Smurfy0617 You can't tell me that billions of people have not been oppressed by religion. BELIEVE in abiogenesis? That's like saying I believe in electricity or in gravity. It's science. We don't BELEIVE in science, it is true. It has been proven to be true. I'm sure you will turn a blind eye to child molestation, like the pope. Are those the good works you speak of? You'll just keep living in your fairytale world because it's easy and it makes you feel good. You're WILLFULLY IGNORANT.

  • Obama was our worse mistake. I will keep my faith in God, and ignore Obama's ignorance. He sounds like the Devil himself.

  • @shepard71 Just keep faith out of legislation.

  • @Sivels "Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. The mere politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them." George Washington during his presidential farewell address.

  • @essdubya1975 George Washington is documented to have been a psychopath, a total nutjob.

  • @shepard71

you ignorant SOB. realize the merit of other peoples opinions. work out where they came from.

And using his name, for your own agenda.

  • God does not bless any single country or any single people. You Christians need to get over yourselves.

  • ZEUS WILL SLAY YOU!!! hahaha ahhh religion

  • Buddha be damned!

  • No, go and be schizo with your fellow schizo's in whatever wooden house with pointy top you usually go too every 7'th day of the week. we do not need your hate and bias here, thank you and please do not murmer for me or anyone else before you go to bed.

  • Oh please do tell me what the context was to stone a woman who was discovered not to be a virgin on her wedding night, or the context in which it was acceptable to stone a child for being disobedient. Oh wait, you will find some way to worm out of it, JEEEEEEBUS died for our sins and hence the old rules don't apply. That doesn't excuse the fact that the rules were already made by the very same people who wrote the new ando ld testament...

  • sycip2 says I love this guy. It's about time we have a president with intelligence.......BTW, which of the 57 states that this intelligent man proclaimed will he be celebrating CHRISTmas in? hahahahahahahha

  • sycip2 says that there is know god= maybe look around at nature and the planet to KNOW GOD. What ever we came from there is a creator. You do not have to believe but it is ok if others do, no one is forcing you to BUY religion like FAKE healthcare.

  • Notice that arrogent smirk on his face,he thinks he`s smarter then all the believers in Christ put together, even smarter then God himself...he`s in for a rude awakening.

  • I am an atheist and I did not vote for Obama nor do i support him for his continued wasteful spending on bailouts and wars. Obama does not represent me although I am happy to hear an American president support secularism.

  • I love this guy. It's about time we have a president with intelligence. Bush had none. I served in Iraq and seeing what I saw proves that there is know god.

  • I voted for President Obama because I'm an advocate for the poor and disabled but this clip makes me doubt his intelligence and moral clarity. If there are no legitimate moral beliefs, then the supreme law of the land is the survival of the fittest and the survival of the wealthy.

:( This is not the change I voted for.

  • Well, at least he seems open to the reality that the States is not just a narrow-minded bible beating nation, like Bush did.

  • I bet anything he is a closet atheist. Listen to his comments on the Bible. I do not care about his somewhat crappy economic policy, I am just happy to here a president say the Bible is bs (in not so many words). Loved it.

  • "I bet anything he is a closet atheist"

yeah well you lose that bet he's a Christian and has proven it time and time again.

  • yeah, i hope obama is a closet atheist too. hopefully he'll go public with it someday. even though such an action would spark lots of debate and controversy i think it would be a major push towards making atheism accepted. nowadays atheism is in fact the most despised group in america. hopefully that will change someday in the near future.

  • God Bless all my good and True Americans

  • Lol God Is always here dude. Like it or not. It's not God the problem it's people like you with lots of education but no understanding and people who do shit in the name of religion

  • Obama just want your vote and to keep the country at bay from a revolution from the true patriots of the USA.

  • Zeus, yeah Zeus owns!

  • President Obama may not be an atheist, but he admits religious skepticism in his book, The Audacity of Hope. The book has extensive Index entries about religion (p. 373), and chapter 6 on faith (p. 195-226). The entire book is an interesting read.

While I would be thrilled to know that our President is a non-believer, I understand his sociopolitical position in the fanatical religious climate that Bush left us in. If he had admitted atheism during his campaign, he wouldn't have won the election

  • no he's an atheist

  • He is an atheist, I bet he is!

  • i am enthralled with obama's speech, here.

i think that he is a fucking brilliant orator, and has a keen mind.

i am glad that he is president.

  • I think he's an atheist too. It's because I've never heard a Christian person who is able to refer to people without faith in the same manner as to people with it. When he says "non-believers" his voice doesn't imply that he thinks any less or differently about them or thinks of them as not whole. Even if it's so that he's just a great speaker, I don't think I religious person would feel the NEED to mask the implication that atheists are less than theists. So I think he is atheist.

  • closet atheist.............no he is an atheist!

  • God, I hope so.

  • "I'm convinced that Obama is a closet atheist!"

    this =)

  • Will America ever have a true atheist president?

  • Nice to see a Christian using their head and embracing logic in this way towards all people. I wish my Christian best friend had this sort of intelligence. When she found out I was an Atheist she dumped me as a friend and never talked to me again. I am sure Jesus would not have approved of her behaviour. Good on Obama for using his brain.

  • LOL the jokes on you faith haters Obama is a Christian.

  • At least he's a moderate Christian and not a crazy fundamentalist who wants to meld church and state. He's one of the few "good" Christians.

  • Theres far more good Christians out there than you think.

Just vist an interfaith food bank.

  • True, most christians are good, but they are being overshadowed by the radicals in their faith. They need to speak out against these crazies like Pat Robertson, Billy Graham, Benny Hinn, and the other televangelists who try to get involved in politics. When there is clearly a wall between the church and the state.

  • I don't entirely agree with you on the wall matter but Christians do indeed need to ignore frauds like Robertson and Hinn.

They're better of reading their bible with family members than listening to those clowns.

  • At least we can agree on something, but remember this country is a combination of different religions and cultures. This country should be a country for all of us, not just Christians. Theocracies are always a bad idea, the governing religion's teachings and laws become more corrupted than normal.

  • Yeah Deuromoty and Leviticus would be a good place to start...

  • If they're Jewish maybe.

If they're Christian the sermon on the mount would liekly be better.

  • Well it's still the same god is it not?

  • Depends who you ask.

  • lol christian????? are u crazy???? boy o boy some people r lost in the applesauce

  • @Hatesfury08 Well I wouldn't call him a Christian, because Christians take Christianity in a higher level than other religions, but he takes all religions as equal. Only atheists do that. Which is why he's an atheist, or at least irreligious.

  • @Hatesfury08 most of them are good, it's just the assholes who make it on TV.

  • As a Libertarian and strong Obama critic, this is by far the best speech I've seen him give. No fluff, no crowd pandering, just straight talking. If he would do this more often instead of trying to get a rising ovation from the crowd every thirty seconds, he might be more tolerable.

As far as what he said, I agree 100%.

  • thank god obamas an atheist or actally they all are but he is strait about it which i think is great.

  • But he isn't straight about it now. That's why this clip is so unusual and telling.

I honestly don't know his beliefs, but if he's a non-believer he sure does a good job of hiding it these days. IMO, that's just as wrong as actually believing.

  • Presidents have to meet certain qualifications the have to be married, never been divorced, be catholic. Its not pretty but thats how are system works, anyway he cant go out and say it but I think allot of presidents have been atheists most could just never go out and say it.

  • I tend to agree with you Colin86, not much choice for Obama but to at least put up a facade of religion.

  • Protest rally on Washington July 4th 2009 demanding our civil rights as atheists. Spread the news we will not be considered second rate citizens any more. Where did this come from and who is organizing it? I receive this yesterday and I am spreading the message but where do I sign up?

  • Wow. I am still amazed how smart Obama is.

I bet he knows all religions make no sense, but he can't just say it like that. He is too smart for that. If he said that all religions make no sense he wouldnt be elected in a mostly Christian nation. So he pretends like he is somewhat faithfull, to get them on his side, but in reality he is telling them what is wrong about religion..

Its a good start, and hopefully will open a door to a truly secular government in years to come..

  • Wow, a president who's not a moron, frankly it's been too long. Very secular, I love it.

  • @choclitrayn Secular, yes (which is a good thing). However, he pretty much turned out to be a moron.

  • Oh, the art of not disagreeing with anyone with a brilliant speech! Let's see what he'll actually accomplish in his first year...

    Good luck.

  • I have nothing against Christians, but do you not remember the Holy wars, or how the Romans used it to piece their empire together, and so forth, who wrote the bible, Man, who wrote any religion, Man, Devinne did not put ink on the paper, Man did, is man not imperfect, therefore is religion perfect? if we are all extremists we will simply wipe each other out, Religion has been the cause of conflict for many years, It has caused Civilizations to rise and fall through out history and pre-history..

  • religion is not the cause, it is merely a convenient excuse for twisted minds & hearts to strike out at those they fear & hate. if not for religion, people would still be killing each other, enslaving each other, torturing each other, they would just find another reason.

  • awesome

  • Good clip! How long ago was this? It's a clear argument for avoiding the legislation of morality in a pluralistic society. The abortion issue gets a bit tricky because we can all agree that we should legislate against murder, but we are having a difficult time defining rationally when a human's life is worth defending at the government level. Can anyone explain to me how abortion is a religious issue and the murder of post-birth humans is not?

  • You didn't watch the video did you? Or did you watch it but are too stupid to understand what is being said?

  • My vote goes to your second option.

  • we arent a christian nation. christianity is jus the biggest religion. the founding fathers were secularist, fleeing from the opression of the church in england. read quotes from jefferson, franlkin and more. they moch christianlty. seperation of church and state, my friend

  • Pretty ignorant comment.

  • Anyone who thinks that the president can change anything regardless of who the president is, is living in a wonderland. Just look at Fannie Mae/ Freddie Mac. Vote 3nd party, and save America.

  • I agree but you forget the election is rigged anyways.

  • You speak TRUTH. They bring in the one's that will further their cause. So when it comes to the election, we'll see where they're going to take us next. Thx for your reply.

  • "Where are the reporters seeking a Pulitzer Prize?????"

    My guess

They are probably all over this rumor, though it might be hard to get it printed for the reason that they do not have enough proof and wish not to have their paper risking damaging lawsuits.

I can't see how, taking into account the high value such a story would bring the newspaper, it could be explained in any other manner.

  • The culture of anti-intellectualism, the farce of creationism, the desire to legislate morality, the insinuation that God spoke to our president and told him to invade Iraq, the erosion of our freedom all in the name of security....

Obama has my vote. I don't know if he'll be better, but he can't be worse.

  • I love this.

  • Yes, and you seem just the man to do it. When will you be fitted for your suicide vest?

BTW troll, any comment on the point of the video, the Importance Of A Secular Government?

  • It has been reported, and more or less ignored. And you are sounding like a conspiracy theorists. Shades of Vince Foster, Ha!.

Aren't you afraid YOU might be assassinated for mentioning it?
