  • I love this. I only wish my English people were as patriotic as the Scots are. But . . . to be honest . . . no English could even dream of making a music as fookin epic as this :)

  • @megorra

lmao behave..... the English have there songs how about ' Over the hills and far away' , I served with the Scots Guards, and you would be surprised how many English are serving with them,

  • 'mon the Kilties!

'...and then with their drums rolling, their pipes wailing and their colours flying -the British came at us again'

  • As an American, I wish we had more of this in the states! And on a historical note, hearing this being played infront of a bunch of redcoats marching....that would be INSANELY intimidating! Love from the US

  • nalaspappa: Been in a few sticky places to say the least! Would have made it a 100 times easier/ never be easier/more bearable had I heard the pipes and drums on the horizon! God Bless The Queen

  • Saw them live in Las Vegas this year @ the Military Tattoo. It was more than great!

  • glegason...I give due credit to the Scottish people.. but i am English/Australian..and i think that there are very good British regiments too..and also The ANZACS get my admiration.

  • there was a english general who said if the scots highlanders die less mischief ,in other words they were expendable, were used, paid less than english soldiers, although 1 scot was better than 2 english

  • england and scotland were united as great britian before 1745,how many scots fought for england do you think?

  • for a small nation,they did great,sacrificed alot,with little recognition

  • england always claimed the glory

  • scots were cannon fodder to the english, always sent into the most heavy fire

  • most major battles scots won on there own agaist overwhellming odds

  • clumsy lover.. what a tune. wee tear to the eye every time.

  • Just a regular old medley then?

  • Hey Sharpie - I hope you get to see this ! When I was your age, I really wanted to be a Scots Guards piper. I even wrote a letter when I was 15 to the recruiting address and got a reply that they would send someone to my home to assess my potential - but no-one ever came! (I think my mum might have had something to do with that!)

  • Marvellous! listened to this gig many times - totally international

  • english is a celtic language!! that is why we speak it!!

  • @zeus21ish . no its not fool. it is a mixture of german, celtic tongues and latin with different dialects compared to wer u are from

  • that if you hear this all the bagpipes in the hair .. very nice!

  • The visual was a little off from the audio ^^ I was tryin' to play along-I like to watch fingers.....Kinda messed me up.

  • The Sound of the pipes, Proud to be a Celt, Modern Scottish or no, this beautiful celtic land corrupted by roman, saxon and norman invaders

  • As usual, the GREATEST!!!!

  • "i can't understand what he says untill 04, is he speaking english", well i cannot understand your stupidity. Are you that stupid you cannot realise it was German, i think 99.9% of people did.

  • Bagpipers: the ORIGINAL Gods of Rock...

  • Best instrument to march to.

  • Beautiful! Thanks for posting this video.

  • I'm sure the angels in Heaven play Pipes and Drums- This music reaches me like no other music! Thank you for the great music and video!

  • Absolutely Brilliant. I could listen to them all day. Makes me sad (as an Englishman) knowing how many old and respected Scottish Regiments have disappeared in the so-called interest of `saving money` and `modernisation` (or `streamlining). Without these great Regiments where would Great Brtitain stand today.

  • okay, until :04, I can't understand what he's saying, is he speaking English in those first 3 seconds??

  • @andyouseethelight who cares ? At least he shut up while the music was playing .(Unlike that Russian putz )

  • I'm 100% English but I love this sound. Makes ya proud of our Scottish comrades.

    Damn fine piping :D

  • It's a montage of several very well known pipe songs. Percussion Rocks here! I can't name them but I sure as smeg can enjoy them & I DO! Thanks for this, from your US Cousin & Warrior Spirit Moody (MacMudah)

  • @duellist03 0:10 is The Jolly Beggerman, 1.53 is The Rose Anong the Heather

  • Please pardon my ignorance but I don't know much about this kind of thing, I have a question about how they are keeping organized as I notice there really isn't a conductor, unless it's the bass drummer in the middle acting as one? Is that how they work that out?

  • @JummahFilms Its usually the piper that is tapping his foot, usually standing on the far end of the front row. Usually on the right but it may depend on the situation. :)

  • What's the song called starting at 2:40?

  • excellent!

  • Anyone out there have an opinion on RG Hardie pipes? thanks

  • The tune that comes after itchy fingers is the clumsey lover

  • La Baum comes after Itchy Fingers

  • Scotland the Brave

  • Love the song Itchy Fingers at 2:40

  • amazing grace or something like that...

Once a soldier, today a pastor!

  • @nalaspappa the pipes huvnae been played tae stir the troops intae battle since the aden crisis.

  • @MrJimmyboy1972 shame, pipes can realy get you pumped up. Only muscial instrument that can be classified as a weapon.......

  • @londonmarc1 tell me aboot it, ahm a scotsman. i played drums with, 15th battallion (scottish) the parachute regiment. the pipes (and drums) are a formidable weapon, if you are a scotsman. they will stir the blood in a lot of other nations too.

  • @nalaspappa South African here: we have pipes down here, and with our Zulu friends, nothing can stir the blood and soul better than some pipes and drums. Magnificent. Thank you for putting your life on the line for others.

    God bless you.

  • @nalaspappa god bless you sir, Ex Kingsman 1st bn the KINGS REGT

  • cani beat the scots pipes and drums no chance

  • The Corries - Ronnie Williamson and...?

  • what's that first tune called?? its great

  • I got to watch the Black Watch perform in Davis, California, USA in the early 1980s. One of the best performances I have ever seen. It got my old British genes excited.

    God Bless our Scottish warriors.

  • Outstanding as always. Musicians 1 day, soldiers always. I had the pleasure of these lads at my dining which I still talk about. Thanks Guys. Ted Shatliff

  • geeeez...what are you all about..!!

  • many may object to what i'm going to say:

I am a piper and I have loads of respect for these guys: I think they are extremely talented. But I dont like the military style of Pipe Bands because of the uniform and the drums are a bit loud. Exellent tune choice and very talented none the less. :)

  • Alba Go Bragh!

  • Alba Gu Bra - moron

  • now, THAT is skills

  • Hail to Scotland, I`m from Poland and I need to say I just love sounds of pipes and drums. I was soldier in Polish army for like 2 years but i missed that sounds on any parade, got enough of Russian marshes and that kind of music.

  • As a Texan with Scots heitage May I say ths is really fantastic! And Served in the US military for many years I had the pleasure of listening to the real pipers coming from Scotland. Really special.

  • respesct u all from the deep south,,, keep them pips a blowing

  • Sadly, because our regiments are renowned for their fighting qualities we're often pushed into situations our young men shouldn't be in.

  • Aye ! any Taffy soldier wot got any sence knows that when you hear this music, Its a bloody good idea to get behind these boys.......cause its not very smart to get in front of em !

Soar Alba ! Cymru am Byth !

  • Stuart Mackenzie, you and them were fantastic, my dad used to be one and also my uncle Jimmy, he was the PSM, in the Scots Guards.

  • fantastic ---- and what a name, Stuart Mackenzie, my son's to middle names....:)

  • a Scottish tattoo is one of the most beautiful things God ever gave us.

  • aye it is but like the Spratans we will eventually die

  • 2:32 ему уже это надоело)))

  • fantastic

  • How is the name of ther march at 4.49 ???

  • Scotland the brave

  • 'Scotland the brave' and march off to 'Hieland Laddie'

  • The pipers are SF section (machine gunners) and the drummers are assault pioneers. A lot of people tend to believe that they take on the role of medics. This is not true, they are fighting soldiers

  • i could not agree with you enough, who are these idiots that think that pipers and drummers are only musicians, fools, they are soldiers too.. my dad was one .... in the Scots Guards at that!!!!

  • there is no such thing as a scot who is NOT a soldier,. they all have their job to do.

and they aere all great at it.

  • You are right....there were times when they had to pick up a rifle and fight.

All bandsmen were also trained First Aiders

  • @Enferushostis Thats correct pal what you posted, cos these guys were also on force protection duties with my old lot 1BW in Shiabah ( Basrah ) Iraq 2004-05.. and new years eve (hogmany) 2004 it was great to see Scots Guard and Black Watch pipers bringing in the new year, ( in the bar near the field hospital) priceless guys..

  • Does anyone know the tune played at 1:06 ????

  • Highland Cathedral

  • la boom i dont think thats how you spell it, it could be la baum or something but its pronounced boom

  • Its La Baum, NOT Highland Cathedral

  • to clear up what that guy was saying earlyer, they are totaly trained soldiers, pipers tend to be medics and drumers gpmg gunners, iv met a couple of the guys in the band, and i was going to join but ended up not

  • Specific specialties associated with a certain instrument is absolute cod-wallop.

  • i am glad that you come under wierdo, because that is indeed what you sound to be!!!!!!!!!! now fuxx off and let people listen to great music......

  • My comments are in no way affecting the quality of the music, or preventing people from listening to said music.

  • yeah right, changed your tune now then.....

  • pipes and drums xxx

  • If I am not mistaken the first song they were playing was actually Irish! The beggar man song or something like that, I know the words, just can not think of the proper title.

  • The Jolly Beggarman

  • Rocking the Baby is also Irish

  • wat was the song they changed half way through of scotland the brave

  • I think that was The Highlan´ Laddie

  • Yes it was

  • wat was the last song called

  • Scotland the Brave

  • its a beautiful piece that i hear every day im in the armouries, LONG LIVE THE HIGHLANDER REGIMENTS!

  • god bless the jocks

  • My son is playing on this video. He IS infantry and has seen active service in Iraq and Northern Ireland. He is off to Afganistan later. The proof is in their campaign medals proudly worn guys !

  • Here's hoping he stays safe. Besy ishes from the USA.

PS bagpipe music is the greatest!

  • god bless your son and keep him safe

  • Awesome show lads!

  • maybe not Infantry such as myself, but do Honor to their friends and comrades enough said----take care alll and God Bless!!!!!!!

  • you got it friend --soldiers!!!

  • very good i am very proud of the brittish army and its bands although i might upset the scots as i know they are very keen on becoming a separate state as do the welch. but it does make me proud to say that we have soldiers like these as patriotic as these fight under the brittish flag

  • It's not right to generalise by saying "they"... Seperatists might be irritatingly vocal but they're in the minority.

  • fair comment i apologise for generalising its just that living in england i feel that way somtimes

  • To put the record straight; they are regular soldiers - not musicians -; if posted to Afghanastan there duties will be stretcherbearers. ie pick up the pieces of their fellow Guardsmen and anyone else after a mine attack etc. How much clearer can we be??????

  • My understanding was that they are professional musicians, with some limited military duties when the appropriate situations arise.

Similar to the police bands - (except for the good people in charge of strathclyde police - who thought police work comes first; with a very public outcry)

  • Wrong...they are front line soldiers NOT STRETCHER BEARERS OR MEDICS, I know, I was in the band long enough

  • There good soldiers maybe you should look it up and do you service------------
