@runnerba Maybe yes maybe not everything is about luck, 2 weeks ago i bought a Trex 450 Sport V1, Flybar, the building process was a pain in the butt.. low quality hex screws which strip out very easily, after the first flight the belt worn out very quickly, one of the screws that tightens the tail box clamp broke off making it impossible to get out so i had to buy a completely new tail Align is cutting corners in quality... i had great success with RTF kits like E-Flite and KDS though

you can hear its a bit dodgy on spool up, idk i had a 450 trex clone and the jesus bolt snaped in flight and the head pinged off and landed like a frisbee, shockingly enough i only needed 2 swash links and a new jesus bolt, no damage as the heli droped in long grass, thr clones are good value for money but i wont put any decent gear in them due to poor quality parts, i do replace with align spares parts which are weak, nuts bolts etc, most of the time they are good flyers with a bit of work

Hey, I'm pretty good now with my Blade CX. I'v flown it about 10 times w/out a crash and I'm thinking it's time to step up to a Trex600 nitro now! :0),,..... YeaaaahBaby!!! jk,. actually I wen't from the CX to a 400,= many crashes while building a 450 and 500 E.F. flown the 500 a bunch MD530 fuse, so fairly mild basic flights w/no crashes yet!

I remember when i was flying my v-22 osprey and the the right rotor got loose and flew off. The whole heli went into a down spin and turned into a ball of fire

Look closely at the end the screw that holds the main shaft in is gone. That is what actually caused everything to go wrong. The shaft slid down through the gear in negative pitch causing it to hit the canopy and then the battery came lose. If that one screw would not have came out you would have been ok. The same thing happened to me when hovering my HK 450 the first time, just with out the horrible crash because it was only a foot off the ground.

@chuck62646 If you are right about that, I am not surprised. One thing I notice about my trex 500 is that it "accumulates/moisture/rust" very quickly on the shaft parts. Between shaft and main gear hub. That means the lower jesus bolt is also getting corrosion. In certain environmental conditions(leaving overnight in car) will lead to rust + lack of maintenance/awareness = disaster. Newbies be aware. Most newbies don't even know what a thrust bearing is?

@trexinvert I can honestly say that the battery may have come lose but the canopy striking the blades would not cause the jesus bolt to come out. So ya the jesus bolt was gone before the canopy got sucked off. It's obvious at the end because the head was completely off the heli.

@morningglory313 I mainly got the SR as an advanced trainer, since I heard it's less aggressive than other CPs (and I can say it isn't sensitive enough with what little time I've spent actually flying it). I actually plan to switch to the big nitro helis (I recently got a Raptor 30) once I get used to the SR.

@PheonyxImperius Dude, don't go from fixed pitch to .30 nitro raptor(ace hobby clunkers). The myth that big is best for beginners is very outdated. Keep in mind flight times, repair cost and "fear" of noise/smoke/big blades. Better of with 450 more economical, more flights.

Seriously, when I first got into RC Helis my goal was to eventually fly the big Nitro birds.

Flight times aren't the biggest thing for me, as long as it will run as long as the normal competition rules require (Once I master the basics I'll get into competition flying. I've got an idea for an insane 3D sequence). Repair cost isn't too much of an issue at the moment for me. As for fear, long story short I don't feel fear anymore.

Nicely done! You flew the blades off it! It does make sense - when you pop the negative pitch, you can see the canopy fly off and everything goes to hell. Does the HK not have the little slot on the bottom, or how did it come off?

love your videos. i have recently started recording heli flights for a friend,

anyone who thinks its easy breezy should try it themselves.

you have to guess where the pilots next move will be and constantly be alert.

also you will need a decent camera, sunny days re the hardest for me to film, and as mentioned, trying to read the pilots mind is challenging to say the least.

With all these helicopters looking alike, how do you know what it's a clone of? Oh, Ali... Ask Maryam to try disabling the auto focus while you're flying. That should eliminate the blurred portions when there's just sky in the background. Just a thought.

@n1tmtu37 Because most of the companies selling them say they are a clone of what heli. Like most of the TREX clones will take 99% of real align parts. I have a hk450 and an hk500 and when something breaks of HK i put align on it. So both of my heli's are align hk hybrids LOL.

Woahh. I am sorry for the loss. I have had a similar thing with a Trex Clone. The head disintegrated and the blades were flying away. Will never buy a clone again. 3:00 "Yeah baby" is awesome! Keep it up.

Wow! There's nothing worse than the feeling you get when you have a mechanical failure..no matter what it is. Just knowing that you weren't the cause induces that "helpless" feeling.
