@3709280: its only bad when you mix it with non kava substance (alcohol etc). We've been drinking it for 1000 yrs without problems apart from dry skin from overdrinking. Otherwise, kava powder is as safe as anything.

Depending on how strong you prepare the kava to water mix, the affects can kick in within 30 minutes of 3 strong drinks. The "high" feeling is great for listening to music as your hearing gets a little boost. You also feel tingling sensations up and down your spine (for me anyway) sometimes your whole body. warning the taste is horrible for beginners,but mix with fruit concetrate helps beginners.

You can get Kava from Vanuatu. i have a box of it infront of me now. it says on the box that Australia and NZ customs permits the importation of 2 kilograms of kava powder per person. Hope you live in Australia or NZ :)
