Robert Plant has one of THE rock voices, very few singers would even attempt to cover him, let alone be able to pull it off, awesome Chris, you've just got a new fan!
this is Cornell 15 years past his prime.....his voice is shot here compared to his heydey.....check out songs like "Beyond the Wheel" or "Say Hello to Heaven" to see what he is really capable of...
@MFBueno63 He is still capable of much more than any of current 'popular' singers though... check out "Beyond the wheel" performance on showbox in 2010... he is almost back..
this is why I'm glad he isn't with Audioslave anymore (don't get me wrong, I love Audioslave) performing those songs tore up his voice, but in this video and a video from a few weeks ago you can tell his voice is starting to sound like it used to :)
this is who jimmy page, john paul jones and bonham jr. should get to do vocals for them now that led zeppelin is apparently no more. if only he wasn't so busy doing R & B pop tunes with timbaland. god damn it.
Agree completely. And if not Chris, they should get Ian Thornley. (Who?) He's kind of a Chris stand-in but I'm sure he could do the vocals no problem.
jeffscottjeff....Hell yes i agree with having the Great Thornicus sing SG songs...his high notes are a bit scratchy....but "the tone is good"...as Christopher Walken would say...
growing the hair out makes me wonder if cornell is coming around full circle and going to come back with a kick ass rock album... as big of a fan as i am, i gotta admit carry on was a little too lite and loose... not tight and rocking as it should have been. though the tracks he did live sounded great and worked well when i saw him last year.
I love the Bela Lugosi's dead section, It sounds really dark. But in a different way to the orrigional, kinda more deep, bereft and with a kind of twisted or deranged angle put on it.
Blasphemy indeed lol. Nah this version is very cool. It's like a psychedelic version. I like the broodiness of the original though. It's much darker and like dark things lol

yeah now all we gotta do is find some footage of him singing Birth Ritual or Jesus Christ Pose
002325 2 years ago
His voice was fucked up before that, it wasn't the Audioslave songs per se that did anything. Obviously.

I seriously think that it would be cool to hear Chris Cornell do a complete show of Zeppelin material.
Now Cornell is above cover band nonsense, but it would still be great to hear one amazing vocalist interpret another's work, yes?

like when Dream Theater covers whole albums. That'd be epic.
