Turn the power off. If your HTC Desire is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it Hold the Volume Down button Press and release the Power button You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button Press and release the Power button Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO
@Scoop4132 Mine too, and i cant hard reset, since it gets stuck on that screen.. I've gotta send to repair, but it annoys me because bought that piece of shit today
gawd i fucked up my phone and im real upset... i mounted it as a hard drive on my comp to add a vid had recorded and when i tried to eject it safely it said things that it was using where still connected and it forced me to just unplug it... now my phone is sooo messed up
omg OK. i want to reset before i sell this fucking phone! BUT I CAN MANAGE TO EVEN come in to the MAIN MENY!! its just freezez at the HTC logo! back and forworth.. nothing happens nothing works. taking of the battery and trying again and it stopps at the same time, when i sometimes after hours manage to come in.. it restarts with out no reason and yet again im stuck for hours before it will manage to start up! can somebody help me?!
there is no "privacy" tab on version 2.2 you need to go to sd card and storage and fin the hard reset button there

Some phones are different.
The factory data reset has been moved to the 'SD & Phone Storage' menu in 'settings'

jols478 1 year ago
Can you then restore settings, data and apps if you backed up on the SD card or will you loose all the data from the SD card too?
