Nice video, it looks like an easy fix. I was running a tv cable line in to my room and mangled the inside.
To you folks who punched holes in the wall, I use to do this years ago when I was younger. It's all good and stress relieving until you hit the stud by mistake. Now I can't make a complete fist with my right hand due to broken knuckles. ;)
lol the hole is too small!! no help wat so ever. i accidently punched the wall in anger and frustration, which is located 5cms above my bed. i was like awwwww fuuuuuckkkk!!
ok fuck this my hole is going through the other side it to the other room and it is 3" x 3" yes it is a bullet hole it ripped the board and made the hole 3 inches though the bullet is 1.5 cm wide so fuck it made a impact and how should i repair that is there a fiberglass tape that wide ?
@YouSirAreDom You need to cut to a square hole and then cut a new piece of drywall to the size of the hole, screw that new piece down and then tape each seam. You can use drywall tape, does not have to be the adhesive tape.
my friend oms got uber pissed off at some notagas and he was hellllllla faaaaaaaaaaded and went on an oms rampage and destroyed his apartment home. now he can fix his wallllllllllllllllllllllls!!!!
Fuck my brother pissed me off and i punched a whole in the wall and i dont want my parents to know i fucked up the wall. It's a big whole and then theres a crack going up the wall.
What's the product called? I totally need this. And can you tell me the price too? Also where is this sold? Thanks. I will subscribe if you give me all info. Thanks!
what do you do if you have deep cracks in the drywall? I bought an old house and the previous owner had installed wall shelves and it looks like the items on the shelves were too heavy that it made the wall crack in different places.
my observation regarding drywall repair (as one who has reluctantly done a pretty good bit of it) is that the thinner the mud, the potentially easier the job. thick mud right out of the bucket makes a nasty, hard to work, mess.
i just put a 7.5 inch by 3 inch hole in the wall..not really a round hole but i can just fit my iphone in there. is this size fixable or too big? i dun want to cut anything like on all the other vids. pleaase help.
for anyone whos handy, is there any way to patch a tiny hole (approx 1/4") in my wall with some sort of putty or something without having to replace an entire square around it? i misplaced an anchor for hanging a frame and need to move it over a bit.
alright please help im 16 and punched my wall in my bedroom out and my parents dont know i did this about 3 months ago the whole is about the same size as an average size wall clock not round at all but the whole is too large to put just dry wall "pre made" repair to it.... i dont know what to do the hole is behind my dresser and where moving soon someone please help me!!!!
you gotta shove somehting in the hole til its full enough to mud over.. i used balled up newspaper before. Just kept shoving it in until iwas tight and close to the surface enough to put the mud over. It comes out bettter then tape. Dont put too much paper that it pushes out..it shoudl be close to the back of the drywall edge and pushed in tight. Either that or learn to be honest to your parents or try to pretend you dont know how it got there lol :\
rotfl its not tht ,i can clog the hole its deep deep it goes like 3 feet down.... :/ and its a huge hole lol i dont think newspaper would help..... lol theres no wood in the hole either makes it harder can u fit the whole with thick carboard
then put the wall stuff on top? lol worlds worst handy man :/ ty for your help ...
@Bl00dSh0T7100 There are a couple of options. If you have a utility knife cut the hole so that it's square, about 200mm or 8 inches. You might have to put a small length of 100 x 50 (4" x 2") into the hole. You will have to screw the timber to the wall once you have it in place. The next step is to somehow find an offcut of drywall and cut it to the same dimensions, perhaps slightly smaller than the hole in the wall. Screw the drywall to the timber that you have inserted into the origional hole.
@Bl00dSh0T7100 At the age of 16 it might not be easy to find all of the gear that you need to plaster the wall. However, I have come across many videos and tutorials on youtube. Good Luck
This method isn't durable. A push on that area and pressure cracks will form. For no bumps, screw in some spare drywall behind the hole inside the wall. Then apply a nice thick coat of 45 basecoat until it is level with the rest of the wall. Make sure the basecoat is not too runny, almost like putty or thick mud. Apply to the hole. The spare piece of drywall will hold the basecoat in place. Use a final skim of topcoat and sand smooth.
mesh tape is made for hot mixes(plaster)or morter, might work but moisture works from bolth sides of a wall, use paper tape if using joint compound will last longer......good post tho.

I work at different Home Improvement store and we only sell 4x8, 4x9, 4x10, 4x12, 4x14, and 4x16 sheets. we do sell some half size sheets that we have cut down for purposes like that at bargain prices. But the reason companies don't cut down sheetrock and alot of other material is so that the customer won't come back to the store blaming them for a bad cut. It's just a basic business move trying to protect themself from obnoxious liabilities.

i'm not even a drywalller but i know not to patch a whole with the compound that comes in the bucket.and if you read those mesh tape labels they are not to be used with anything BUT those fast setting compounds.U must be a union drywaller-you suck for a 15 year veteran,i hope you are sitting home unemployed cuz you suck so bad.I would never hire a moron like you
lol u guys commenting on this r funny, cut more dw out? dont use mud straight from the bucket?,HOT MUD/,ffs,a small hole like that, thers nothing better than mesh tape,ya sure use durabond if ya want to dry it faster, but take it from someone whos been a finisher for 15 yrs,hes right on!
Unfortunately I gotta agree with rodolfo2107, the precedures being shown are very inaccurate, and are simply incorrect. These processes are actually making it more difficult than it is. I noticed in a few of the vides that he is not even using the correct products. Although I applaud his efforts, this stuff is like taking medical advice from somebody that just reads alot of medical books ,RATHER THAN AN ACTUAL DOCTOR....lol.

Do not do what he is doing. Fill hole first, let dry, knock down high spots w/ sander of choice. Then use fiber tape with only hot mud! No taping compound. And yes, do not mud out of the box or bucket. Spin it up.... F-ING retatd!

Use a final skim of topcoat and sand smooth.

i'm not even a drywalller but i know not to patch a whole with the compound that comes in the bucket.and if you read those mesh tape labels they are not to be used with anything BUT those fast setting compounds.U must be a union drywaller-you suck for a 15 year veteran,i hope you are sitting home unemployed cuz you suck so bad.I would never hire a moron like you
