it made my eyes water. I couldn't believe he was gone and I was a big fan of his. He's gone but will never be forgotten. NASCAR died when he died. Dale will keep on racing with the angels in heaven. It's been 8 years and I still feel the pain

I was only 6 when Dale died. I was watching the race at my cousins house but I didnt get to se the end sinse we left with like 10 laps to go. That night when I got home it said on the news that dale had died. It didnt really sink in until the next week, when my dad and I watched the Dale Earnhardt Tribute on TNN, and when they started talking about Dales life and death I ran up to my room crying. To this day I still cannot watch the last lap and the tribute without chokeing up :'( #3 4ever!!!!!!

I remember that horrible day. I was watching the race too and when he hit the wall, I was upset, but also worried on how he impacted the wall, but I tried to think positive and hoped that he would be okay. It wasn't until later that my dad called me and I asked him if Dale made it to the hospital, he said "yeah", then I started to tear up and I asked, "Is he okay?" My dad started crying and said, "No, he passed away." I couldn't even sleep that night. Forever Dale Earnhardt!!!

my father was the biggest dale earnhardt fan there ever was, my and my brother were Jeff Gordon fans, the day he died, i came home and my dad was sitting in his chair crying. Nascar hasnt been the same

Dale will always be missed. i grew up watching him race. i was watching the daytona 500 when he crashed. i though he was alright.

i got the paper and read the headline, "Black Sunday" i cried and ran. i couldnt stand to watch a hero be killed. RIP Dale Earnhardt. He will be missed so much. God bless him and his family.

I went to bed early that night on Feb. 18, 2001. I woke up the next morning and throughout that night I prayed that Dale was alright. I turned on the TV and watched the news and I heard that Dale died on the last lap on the Daytona 500. I immediately went online to find out if it was really true, it was to my horror. I just simply sat there and cried, yes, a man can cry and I still do when I hear "Dale Earnhardt".
