I WOULD LIKE TO SEE HER WITH RED LIPSTICK ON AND BLACK STOCKING AND SUSPENDERS, KNEELING IN FRONT OF ME SUCKING MY COCK FOR ABOUT 12 HOURS WHILE I DRINK VODKA, SMOKE CIGARS, AND LISTEN TO J.S BACH
One of the things I love about The Beatles is that they sounded different in every song and didn't try to show off, but really tried to convey the feeling of the song in their voice. Whereas singers these days just belt everything out with as much vibrato and power as they can. This is a good cover but I prefer Paul's simplicity, that's sort of what the song was meant to be, just the simplest song he could come up with that's also beautiful.
That is so true about the Beatles. They had a freedom to just make music. Everything was a hit....no pressure to produce a hit. They just made great songs....and moved on to the next one. Paul kept a grip on that concept....while John became so full of himself....
you can say what you want, as to who is best and what not. As for me, she speaks to my heart, and moves me to be more than I have been, I sang this song at a local club and did not think the people would ever stop clapping and cheering, thanks Kathy and friends.
No kidding this is a brilliant re-conception of the song as a jig instead of the square 4. I gave Paul's orginal a lot of play and I really liked the Allison Krauss countrifed version, but this is just exceptionally handled with the intertwining celtic instrumentation.
Try Alison Krauss on the Now That I've Found You album. I'd say she beats McCartney & Company hands down, although he certainly gets credit for writing the song.
sorry, it can't compete with the original by paul mccartney--frankly, i think its horrible--she took out all the beautiful sensitivity and turned it into an irish-pub song(a tin-whistle on I Will? come on...
My first real boyfriend put the original version of this song on a mix cassette for me 30 years ago, so it holds special memories for me. I love the Celtic treatment given here...what a fresh version of a wonderful old song!
well said Jeannie - it's nice how songs play a special part in our hearts and memories. I was blown away with this version too - really refreshing - thanx to youtube !!
I wish this could be an annual event. Gathering up the best musicians in the world, to make recordings that people will be listening to a century from now.
I managed to record most of the transatlantic sessions programs from the BBC. It was mentioned on the last programme that it could become an annual event, but nothing so far.
Good news for all fans is the release of the DVD "Transatlantic Sessions: Series 3" bringing together the best of Nashville, Ireland and Scotland to perform what has been called "the greatest backporch shows ever".
All of the six half-hour programmes from the BBC/RTÉ TV series are included, recorded in a beautiful old converted farm steading in the Perthshire Highlands.
Oh my oh my, so this is the irish version of the irish band the beatles, always thought that mccartney must be irish, guess he is, what a great song, thank you Kathy
Oh my goodness, kind sir, this is so incredibly lovely, and truly a gift to the senses! Bless your heart for your kindness and generosity! Blissfully, WVSunbird in Annapolis USA
Besides Jay Unger on the darker fiddle, who are the other musicians?

I like the instrumentals of this song better - from either Allison Krause, or Fred Benedetti.

Check out Paul's bass line in the Beatles' version. It's NOT a bass. It's way cool.

Great vocal from Kathy....wipes the floor with 'Sir Paul'.....who frankly is well and truly over-rated
Abbaodin 3 years ago
Over rated? This is a nice version but no one can sing it like McCartney. Hands down.

This song, by Kathy, and, For No one, by Emmy Lou Harris are the best cover versions of Beatles songs. Both fantastic

I truly did not know this was a Beatles song.
This version certainly makes me happy ; a bunch of great musicians having fun, and we are allowed to join them.
Love her smile at 2:45-46 !!
