It is sad to know that the days of networks having a soap opera line up are over. This promo (and the others ABC produced for its daytime lineup in the 1980's) is historic and shows what the network once was.
I had to comment again. It's amazing that this promo will be 30 years old in December, and it's hard to believe how well those soaps scene look. In 1981 it was really "Love In the Afternoon." In 2011, it should be called "Bullshitting In the Afternoon."
I'm 21, and I much rather watch soaps from 1981 then the garbage in 2011.
@coolwafferman I've been rewatching the old General Hospital storylines that are posted on YT from 1977 onwards. I started with it in 1981 ansd I stopped in 2010. I couldn't stand watching any more of that crap. I can understand why soaps are a dying breed in 2011 . For those who are interested in watching the old soaps, find one on YT, then try and figure out the chronological order, since many posters have different years, some post according to fav actors etc.
@320dufferin I stopped watch "GH" in 2006 after watching it for almost 3 years on and off. I had enough of the mob storylines. To me that took the focus off the hospital setting. I mean it was interesting which is way I watched, but once they started with getting rid of veterans, that was it. I much rather watch my own old episodes of "GH" back in the 70's and 80's with people like Alan & Monica, or when Luke was actually an interesting character. I think "GH" only has a year left on the air.
@coolwafferman Thats what killed it for me too. It became the Sonny Corinthos Show for the last decade, along with mob storyline anfer mob storyline. GH has had mob storylines in the past, but eventually they move on to something else after a couple of years. Youre right , alan and monica were great, that Qs were a real funny and dysfunctional family. The comic relief of the show. Within a few short years, the new writers killed off or wrote off nearly all of them
@320dufferin Sonny Corinthos, Jason, Carly, and a few others did it for me as well. They turned Port Charles into a place where it seems like it's always night time like something out of the Batman movies. I really liked the Quartermaine clan. Too bad they are almost gone minus Tracy and Edward. I don't even know if Monica is still around.
I miss the days when all 5 of these shows were on, in top form, and pretty much ruled daytime.... SIGH.... EVERYONE watched all these shows, it seemed like. Watching this video is like watching a bunch of my old friends, some of whom - sadly - are no longer with us. I think I'm going to cry now... :(
@donna515 What I should of said was 0:09. Thank you. Also do you know the storyline, that was going on? Was it a fantasy, or a Halloween party? It seems like an interesting storyline.
@coolwafferman It was Clint Ritchie as donna515 stated, dressed as Count Dracula for his father's masquerade ball. It was one of the best moments on ONE LIFE TO LIVE. You can see Dorian (Robin Strasser) a few seconds before dressed as Josephine for the same event.
I remember this advertising campaign. It was kind of catchy - LOL!

I wonder if the entire clip of Erica (AMC) during her model shoot exist anywhere?? As I recall, Silvetti's "Spring Rain" played in the background.

I wonder who is the guy dressed like Dracula at 0:59. He kind of looks like Palmer Cordlandt from AMC.

It's Clint Richie, the original Clint Buchanan on OLTL.
