hi alice, would you mind helping me out. i am trying to use the bcr to change the parameters of the jomox mbase11, trying to trigger the sounds with a keyrig49 midi keyboard. i always just used audio, now i try getting into midi and i find mountains to climb... audio and midi running through fireface400 and using ableton.. can you help? how do i need to set it up?
thanks Alice, I guess you mean using the preset for Reason and encoder group four, for the bouncing "UV" meters. I've been programming my encoders and software from scratch, but I'll peak into that preset and Reason to see what kind of midi messages and options they used to make it work. I have a feeling, thought, that it's only going to work for midi tracks, reading midi volume, and not audio tracks. That would require something to translate actual db output to midi CC messages. I'm not expert.
Last week mine cost $139.00 US at B&H photovideo in New York. I chose the Brc (knobs) over the motorized fader version because faders seemed a much more delicate mechanism prone to break. With this you still get the feedback from your gear/computer as to where the settings are with the LEDs. The knobs are "infinite," btw, you can turn them forever. Really cool and easy to use with Ableton Live.
How did you program the uv meter to work on the top enoders? And are those midi tracks bouncing the meters or can I set that up for audio too in LIVE for example. Earlier commenter asked, but you just said watch vid. Doesn't reallly tell how. Anybody know?
@Mishaman61 the VU effect is using reason by propellerheads software. choosing encoder group 4 when controlling a mixer track in reason. It can be done with Live if you use in mackie mode ,, but not sure how.
Its really awful...cant believe that Behringer puts it on her awful site...but wait, i know, its because Behringer makes awful products, with awful quality...now i got it..
what I mean is, can you show practical ways to use this gear in software and or hardware and how to program it and or set it up to learn controls.
Thanks,
I love many Behringer mixers and their gear , I think they are reasonably priced unlike other brands that must be made out of solid gold?!! They cost the same as gold per ounce and do the same thing or less..........
Hi there :D.. nice gear! :D... congratulations... I'm planning to buy one... Is it easy to use?... I want to get one because knobs are easier and compact to use rather than sliders but my axiom's knobs suck, because if you twist it fast, it doesn't make a smooth movement...
Congratulations and thanks for uploading this vid ;)
JSV....i saw it somewhere about the VU effect, but got lazy about how to do the sysex dump once i realised a reason mixer will do it anyway.
.......with reason 3 and 4, once a sequencer track is created for a mixer ( or line mixer ) and the midi selected, switch to encoder group 4. ( see vid at:
nice video :) its really simple to set up/connect and youre ready to go for some synth tweaking/whatnot fun! nice video! i wish every soft synth out there had parameter feedback, unfortunately mine doesnt, but i still like bcr2000, simple, easy and good looking too, with plenty of controls :D

why don't you show how it controls software and hardware and how to hook it up to your system???
Be way more informative please instead of eye candy.............???
aarowsmith 2 years ago
eye candy indeed, its lovely to look at.
..otherwise, you just power up, usb in, fire up your software and away you go.
do i work for behringher.?,,, no. i dont.

How did you figure out how to use this thingy? I can't get mine to speak to Reason.

auto detect surfaces, twiddle a knob on the bcr......there you go. :)

can you see the vumeters with the top row in ableton live?
it'd be really cool

LOL.....shucks, you noticed.
alice303 3 years ago
So, can you monitor the audio levels for each track on the upper row of knobs? like a meter bridge fashion?
If you use it for a VST synth, does it display back assigned parameters of the synth?
I already ordered it, so i guess i'll be finding out sooner or later.
oh ya, BTW, I use a Mac.
SubliminalOps 3 years ago
good choice sub....Ops,
well worth owning.
the audio feedback on the top row of l.e.ds is with reason 3.0 + when assigned to midi track for mixer/sub-mixer. set to encoder group 4.

........and on that bombshell...

The VU metering on the top row, did it work like that out of the box with your software or is it some kind of patch?
I'd like to program my BCF to do it in Cubase...

.....sorry aphextuso, i was dumb enough not to check if there was any audio on this avi.i didnt realise the camera mic was on.
the track you can hear (00:22 - 01:07 ish )
is a track using reason 4, two Thor synths and a sidechained nnx-t with some ropey pad running through....blah blah blah.
i think that track existed for all of 15 minutes; i didnt think to name it. sorry.
