She just owned the house there while she also lived comfortably in the suburbs in another house. Its kind of funny how she all of a sudden decides to become an activist and hold out when she hears that homeowners were being offered astronomical amounts of money for their property.
Then what were they planning on building which was legally significantly different? What were they building that would Constitutionally allow the confiscation of property without just compensation? What military storage facility or dockyard was in the plans for New London?
I don't care if Kelo was the richest woman next to Oprah! The government doesn't have the lawful authority except in the cases specifically stated in the Constitution. That's the point. The decision is indefensible.
