Mormons do try to avoid federal welfare when possible, FLDS are taught that it is righteous to "bleed the beast" aka cheat the federal government on welfare. There is a really good documentary about the FLDS in colorado city here on youtube you should look at. Some previous FLDS members have posted on it, and explained aspects of their religion. It's quite different from the Mormon religion.

I do not doubt that there have been members that are racist, just as there are in any other religion. And what you have to take into consideration about Joseph Smith is the context. This was a very controversial time in religious history and people of influence would raise false charges to those who challenged their beliefs.

The policies of the Church include encouraging persons in need to use government assistance when possible and necessary, but, a 2009 manual says "when Church members receive assistance from non-Church sources, the bishop should help them avoid becoming dependent on these sources."

Mormons do try to avoid federal welfare when possible, FLDS are taught that it is righteous to "bleed the beast" aka cheat the federal government on welfare. There is a really good documentary about the FLDS in colorado city here on youtube you should look at. Some previous FLDS members have posted on it, and explained aspects of their religion. It's quite different from the Mormon religion.

Mormons never social or economically oppressed Blacks or any race and that's a fact. You cannot show one instance of Mormons collectively oppressing Blacks via of economic class warfare. The Priesthood Ban simply excluded Blacks from performing rites(ceremonies) IN THE TEMPLES or from practicing the "Laying on of Hands". Other than that, BLACK Mormons worshiped God along side WHITE Mormons.
