TL is in that "fun" category of drumming. Fun to watch, fun to listen whilst playing a song but not much for technical playing. No doubt he is one of the most powerful drummers in the last 30 years. He once said that he doesn't like doing drum solos because it's not what "most" people want to hear. The majority of the fans want to hear the songs that they know and love. I have to agree with him. In a more discerning environment, like a drum clinic, people will appreciate your chops more.

@pierrekid well, TECHNICALLY he might be average. but he does what the song calls for. and he's got his distinctive style which is a big part of the motley crue sound. drumming (and playing any other instrument for that matter) has to work within the context of a song and/or band. a couple of virtuosos joined togheter do not make a great band. there are a couple of examples in music history, where technically better players didn't make the band sound better.
