This might sound bad but if shiranui didn't keep giving his own life for others like that we would just think oh its ammys past self and we wouldn't think anything of him. Also, if if shiranui just appeared without all the sad stuff and dying, there would be no point in being ammy as we could just sit there and watch while shiranui does the all of battles. Also, it would take away the epicness of okami and if shiranui didn't die there would be no ammy (read the full story)

i cryed mutiple times during this game poor shiranui helped with the battle even knowing he was going to die and issun leaving was sad and him helping ammy get her powers back by praying

*sniff* i cryed when i got here then again when issun left and AGAIN during the prayer :( but if it wasent for issun ammy would of never got her powers back. also his speech was epic yet kinda sad for he wasent there with ammy.

This. This, right here, is what Okami is all about, and why it was such a special game. I really got something out of this game. To be a true hero isn't just to be strong. To be willing to give your life to protect others, and to fight even though you know you'll die. That's what a true hero is. Shiranui was that hero, and prompted Oki to be that hero as well. And that's exactly why Okami was so dear to me. Values, morals. Okami taught them. Determination, Heroism, Resolve.

But the sadness is actually what made it a good game. If it was really happy and stuff, that would defeat the purpose of an epic game. I'm not saying that it isn't sad, I'm saying that without the sadness in this game people would have stopped playing

I agree. I was slightly spoiled so I knew that Issun would be leaving at some point (I thought it would be after you beat the final boss.) So my heart dropped when Issun hopped off your head at the ark. T_T When Waka taunted him into getting on the ark I hoped I was wrong, but no. I was so upset!
