Please help me tvfmdx.I also live in Brossard.I bought a 8 bay antenna + a yagi Y10-7-13 antenna. I have the Yagi combined with the 8 bay with a vhf/uhf coupler that has ch13 trap built in... THe antennas are at 30 feet above ground and they're all aimed towards Mount Mansfield . I receive every channel that you get...including ABC. But ABC always freezes after 3 seconds and comes back...then 3 seconds later again it commes back to normal. I tried a Channel Master 7777, but it didn't work.
UPDATE: I made a hole in the wall so I could place the coat hanger antenna outside by passing the cable through it. After trying many positions, I was able to get FOX, CW (not HD at all, boooo!) and PBS 33.1.2.3.4!
Fox has been a bit more consistent in the past few weeks, I'm quite happy.
I also wrapped the antenna in a garbage bag for inexpensive weatherproofness plus, it's sheltered by the BBQ grill cover.
I wish I could get ABC for the total U.S. HD OTA package but hey 3 out 4, it's good!
I'm able to pick up all the American DTV channels you've listed above, using an amplified INDOOR antenna. :) I hook that into an ATSC tuner card in my computer (unfortunately I don't own a modern TV with digital tuner).
Yet I pick up *zero* local DTV channels from Montreal, and I blame that on transmitter antennas yet to be placed on Mount Royal. When exactly is that going to happen?
Not missing much, the only English DTV channel in Montreal is CBC, but it'd be nice to have it nonetheless.
Hey your near me I didnt think Canada had to use these stupid boxes like the USA I have a TV just for Canada to watch the Habs and Taxi 22 (im bilingual) plus I love Juste pour rire!!! I will try to get Canada on my box....
@adkbeau Hi, thanks for your message. The Montreal digital stations will eventually move their transmitter to Mount Royal. You'll have a better chance to see them once that's done. For now, they are atop various buildings in Mtl because there is a moratorium on any new transmitter on the mountain.
