  • Brilliant!!! Stradivarius?

  • Many many years ago (in the seventies) he was in the Netherlands in Utrecht. It was a spectacular performance. Very great talent. And... he was a very handsome boy.

  • Fantastic! I was trying to find out his concert schedule, but could not find anything. Could you please help me find some info. Thank you very much!

  • TCHAIKOSVSKY ERA UM GENIO! BORIS BELKIN MUITO COMPETENTE POUCOS PODEM FAZER ISSO.

  • Mi sono venuti i brividi a sentirlo. Veramente un grande del nostro tempo!

  • Extraordinário violinista!!! Parabens pela postagem.

  • How old was Boris Belkin here, Machteld? Seems that at his age he is a serious competitor of all the great violinists. Profound and outrageous! Surely a living master around all those today.

  • B.B. was 23 years old by that time ... I asked him last week ;o)

  • The 1st movement starts actuallly 10 minutes prior to this clip, so dont confuse yourself, the concerto last actually for over 40 minutes...

  • Avvolgente, meraviglioso, grandissimo. Da anni seguo i suoi concerti. E' sempre uno dei più grandi violinisti viventi.

  • Is he a tad bit flat at 2:28? You can see the guy over his right shoulder smile and raise an eyebrow as if he was saying "hmmm"..

  • He looks like he just walked right out of the 18th Century :) Great performance!

  • I wasched a presententio

n of mr belkin in Campos do Jordão city in São Paulo.

  • Brilliant interpretation!

  • I like Belkin's sound, full of power but not rude at all. His another video of Prokofieff is perfect.

  • For sure Boris is brilliant. How old is he here?

  • 25 years from now you will see what I mean.

  • This was the first violinist I saw live, I think he is great but James Ehnes is better.

  • James Ehnes? Sure, he is good, but do you have any idea who you're comparing?! This is Boris Belkin... if you cannot see it yourself I don't think I can help you. It's almost sacreligious to compare him to any violinist still alive..

  • still alive? I attended a masterclass some years ago, is he already dead? can anyone tell me, please?

  • of course he's still alive! :) I just meant that nobody from the violinists of our time (i.e. still alive) can be compared with him..

  • oh! ok! thanx for the explanation :)I was surprised at thinking that he could be dead, as I hadn't heard about it. Anyway... :)

  • He plays very poetic,I love his interpretation more than all those great violinists.Christian Feras is also fantastic.

  • Gee..Oh... Breathtaking. Beautiful and powerful. Thanks leopold19.

Thanks Dave for telling me about this video clip. I am his fan now.

  • thanks a lot for posting!

  • Восхитительно

  • Now he is playing a Guadagnini one of the latest violins ,the violin is looking like a Strad but is not.I know because I just play with him 2 weeks ago.

  • it's Stern's violin.

  • I saw this on TV when I was a child and since then Tchaikovsky has been my fovourite vc. Love his playing! Does anybody know if he plays a Guarnieri or a Strad?

  • Wonderful
