  • my asus 701sd either has a problem with supplyed charger or power connection on netbook. if the wire is slightly moved while plugged in it looses power and stops charging. any ideas people?

  • @preecejon Maybe spray a little electronics air duster into the power jak, may help... may not. But it won't hurt anything to try it.

  • @jumpthemap Hi, I have had an asus eeepc 701 for a while and it didn't come with xandros its just like a normal computer. So i was wondering if I could download it somewhere because personally I think it looks cool :) and if it is possible to download it then is it even worth it?

    Thanks

  • loving this review, best ever.

  • Is the procesor faster than intel atom (netbook)?

  • Nice review, thank you :)

  • how is it with youtube?/ does it load videos all slow and choppy or just normal?

  • @EPICdocumentary

I got one. Video at 480p plays perfect, but 720p plays 1 frame every 3 seconds, 1080p, i dare not attempt, but nethertheless this is a very good little machine for light/medium computing use.

  • @ThThThThThThaMan Wow, 0.33 FPS? That's amazing!

  • does this have wifi built in

so if i dont have wifi hooked up at my house

    would it work?

  • @thelagoonie1 i think u may need a connect card...but some places have wifi like starbucks...

  • @thelagoonie1

Wifi built in and you need a wifi hotspot

  • this is the best review ive seen, but a penguin dies everytime you say lyenux instead of lihnux

  • Awesome review; very informative and useful to people just entering the netbook market and planning to start out small.

  • Noo fiz o mesmo negocio com o meu :D

  • U cant even out a dvd in it!

  • I've never had the need to put a dvd on it. I don't need to use dvd's. Lately, I've been getting into "cloud" computing more and more. It's the latest form of computing. That's were computing is headed. I figure you will be seeing more and more computers that don't have dvd drives. Just like you don't see many computers with 3 1/2 inch floppy drives anymore. Anything else I may need storage for, I use SDHC cards or USB flash drives. I don't miss having a dvd drive at all.

  • Dvd's aren't really a big deal...

  • I got the black Eee PC 701 8G, it has 8G SSD and 1G RAM. Love it. I run Easy Peasy Linux. (Linux is pronounced like the word in. Not like the word wine.) Tried a couple different Linux distros. Might go with 'Leeenux". I keep Xandros on a USB flash drive for backup. Taking it to Taiwan and the Philippines and Thailand. Do I need different plugs? Got a 7800mAh Mugen Power battery. Lots of run time. 4400mAh battery is for spare.

  • I get the feeling that you're a Filipino. :D nice netbook man. that's a hard working piece of hardware.

  • Sounds like this machine has served you very well :)

  • awesome review!

  • i beleive it 0.3 mp

  • Overclocked to 900Mhz too.

  • Oh, & I'm running XP too. I can also dual boot with Ubuntu from a flash drive.

  • Nope, 4GB. I've had mine for nearly 2 years (I'm using it right now) and it's great for a portable PC. I upgraded to 2GB or RAM & have a 8GB SD card in it. If I need anything more I use my desktop.

  • 4gb harddrive? thats a joke!
