  • yo Willie Nelson i hear you like weed

  • @zungaloca shut it, k?

  • san antonio

  • Hero worship is boring. Kill yr idols!

  • Willie Nelson and Kermit should sing this together

  • Thank you Willie.

  • Hello Everyone!

It’s Music that’s keeping me alive.

My life is so difficult and the only thing to forget my problems is the Music.

All of you will think I’m crazy but you’re wrong

Because singing and writing I can be who really I am.

I’m so grateful because now I can smile, dreaming, screaming. (And I owe it all to music and to god)

Well, I made some covers and I just upload it to my channel and I’ll be grateful if you stop by my channel and check it out.

    Thank you so much!!

  • willie nelson developed his own style of singing softly and deeply with emotion. His soul is into every song, even the rainbow connection. His delivery is very soothing and relaxing, I could use this song as a sleep tape, it is that comforting. Beautiful job Willie, I know that you did it because you liked it as I do. signed, someone your age.

  • i think if i saw him in a park, I would ask him for a joint

  • @CanadianOilBaron an

d share one with him, no?

  • an 80 year old kermit

  • Mike Stinson is showing up everywhere. @2:58

  • stop stealing kermits song

  • @TropicalPlatypus826 It's called a cover...

  • this song doesn't sound right on guitar. it needs banjo...sorry willie, nice try.

  • the dude that has his arm up "kermit" did the singing, same as Elmo... People behind the scenes dont get much talk about... Song stuck in my head for years.. I know i am not the only one!!

  • @QENZORE11 Jim Henson himself was the original voice of Kermit. Sadly missed; a huge gift to American culture, and especially to America's children and the children of the world. I put him on a part with Dr. Seuss.

  • wasn't thsi sung by Kermit the frog originally?

  • @Bawbster1 Yes, Yes it was.

  • so comforting...Willie Rules

  • it says "taylor swift "ours"! watch now!" below the video. i cant im listening to WILLIE!

    WILLIE NELSON=COUNTRY

    TAYLOR SWIFT=POP

  • My mother said she met Willie Nelson himself at a bar at Sturgis many years ago. He sat down and spoke to my mother and her best friend for at least 45 minutes. She said he was the most genuinely kind, respectful, and wise person she'd ever met. He didn't even leave that booth until his bodyguard tapped his shoulder and told him he had to get to his bus. So he shook my mother's hand and her best friend's too and they took a picture together. She said she'd never forget meeting a legend like him.

  • Smile dammit !

  • Wowzers. I wouldn't have thought anybody could do it better than Kermit but I think Willie actually does. This is a truly special video and watching it just made my day. Thank you for yet another amazing recording Willie!!!!

  • This is a beautifle song. and in my opinion willie nelson makes it even better.

  • What an excellent video of a legendary singer singing a legendary song. I love it.

  • Willie rules.....

  • That Was Beautifull Willie...:)

  • OLD GAY

  • @JusticieroBurning fuck u with your generation prick! FUCK YOU LEARN WHAT MUSIC IS AND THEN F*UCKIN SPEAK

  • @JusticieroBurning You obviously have no life if you spend your day going around youtube and posting OLD GAY on great songs that should be exposed to your generation so you can know what real music is instead of crap like green day and etc.

  • @evanjonsey GREAT SONG???? hahahaha

  • @evanjonsey Dude, don't hate. Besides, nobody said you had to listen to the song if you didn't like it.

  • @CONfusion2021 I'm not hating, I am defending this song, it's @justiceroburning who is hating.

  • @JusticieroBurning

    "OLD GAY"

    Stupid bigot

  • touching

  • read about the Antakharana also called the "rainbow bridge", the bridge to Valhalla in Norse mythology is also called a rainbow bridge........ this song is about the afterlife... not about 2 lovers.... it's a song about metaphysics and the afterlife..... Somewhere over the Rainbow is OZ.... same thing.... the ppl who write these songs know what they mean.... most of their listeners do not know what they are about....

  • @420protoman Can't you just like a song just because?

  • @scuba2nd Yes you can bro. Yes you can.

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!!

  • the original floyd pepper

  • Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. :)

  • just awesome!

  • Kermit would be proud.

  • @rainbowkeys711 yea cause this version is deffinatly better than the jason mraz one

  • @rainbowkeys711

the song was actually written by the Carpenters... not by the muppets... kermit's version was also a cover song of the original

  • @420protoman actually Paul Williams and Kenneth Ascher wrote the Rainbow connection in 1979 for the Muppets Movie. The Carpenters covered the song in 1981.

  • @darknight909

    oh snap. i fail lol

  • is it just me or is the audio pretty low? i have turned it way up, but not getting any better..technical problem youtube side, or my laptop?

  • Thank you. I have used this song for my inspiration for 2011 Blogblast for Peace. ;-)

    crows-feet.blogspot.com/2011/11/dona-nobis-pacem-2011-dreamers.html

  • aposto que essas tranças saem junto com a faixa

  • Thank you very much Les from Okeechobee,FL

  • I would take that guitar over a solid gold guitar

  • The "real" song starts at 1:50.

  • When you hear something like this the world just stops. You may have problems, everybody does, but this is just pure magic, right before you're very eyes.

  • could you imagine walking thru a park and finding Willie Nelson hanging out, playing guitar? what would you do? i personally would cancel the rest of my day and sit at the feet of a Legend, absorbing whatever he had to share.

  • @sfy2004 i'd roll a big joint.

  • @KillinDaWelfareMCs somehow, i think Willie might join you if you did. if he didn't already have one rolled and ready. ;)

  • @sfy2004 in about 15 minutes their would be 500 people there. Cell phones would be going wild.

  • @sfy2004 Id light one up and pass it to Willie.

  • @sfy2004 i could honestly see willie doing it too

  • @sfy2004 Same thing for Kermit!

  • @sfy2004 i would cancel the rest of my life, it would take the rest of my lifetime to absorb his stories and music he could share with me.

  • @sfy2004 Me to. ;)

  • Willie in 2012 with Kermit as his running mate!

  • The purpose of the case is for folks to throw loose change in, so he can buy a guitar without holes in it.

  • Love you, Willie!

  • Why does he bother carrying his guitar in a case, I mean how much more beat to hell could that guitar get? Rock on Willie!

  • @firefoxmoz And the case cost more than the guitar Ha! Ha! Love his music. All the best. Karl.

  • @karlcolt that guitar-if sold- would go for hundreds of thousands of dollars, it's iconic

  • That was the most beautiful rendition I've ever heard.

  • Great country music icon

    Very Best..

  • Hmm. This is okay, but I love Kermit way better.

  • chills

  • the only thing missing from this song is kermit

  • @jbreezy0420 Now that would have been good. Kermit in the pool playing banjo. Ha! Ha! Far Out! I do have both versions ( Sad, i know! Im a Kermit fan too) Ill try that, mix both together, see how it gos. Kermit an Willie? Willie an Kermit? When Kermit met Willie? Ha! Ha! What the hell, this is going to be fun. All the best. Karl.

  • @jbreezy0420 and hot chicks.

  • This puts me to fucking sleep. -.-

  • Love this! Have watched it many times. But now that VEVO has it, it wont load. The only videos I ever have trouble with are VEVO. Willie is AWESOME!

    ...vevo SUCKS!

  • I recant my comment about Willie being an old burned man. I meant no disrespect to him in any nor wished to upset anyone on this site. I think Willie's music is wonderful art that I believe the lack there of would make the world a much darker and drabber place. He is ADVANCED in years, but DEFINITELY not burned out!!!!

I apologize from the bottom of my heart WIllie. :o)

  • I remember another good version of this. Willie should get together with that singer for a duet.

  • Kermit is better but this is... nice.

  • vevo = excuse to advertise more musicians that have nothing to do with what your listening to

  • that guitar got a hole on it,how its can make a good sound ?

  • @trbossdoggy Because it's Trigger

  • @trbossdoggy Because sometimes the empty spaces are more important than the ones that are filled.

  • @trbossdoggy Because sometimes the empty spaces are more important than the ones that are filled.

  • @trbossdoggy hmmm, probably because.. The guitar playing and the guitar in the video are diferent ones!!

  • @anelote11 yes you're right, its logical ye ^^ but watch snoop dogg feat willie nelson-superman in this video,Willie Nelson plays this same guitar in live performance and a cable putted to guitar... i dont know :D

  • @anelote11 He has played with that guitar, and only that guitar, for over 40 years. He said if the IRS had taken away Trigger, the name of the guitar, he would have never played again.

  • @anelote11 Just cause a guitar has a hole in it doesn't mean it can't make a good sound. This is the only guitar Willie ever plays, as far as I know. Don't be cynical.

  • good but can't match kermit

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!

  • This brings tears to my eyes. Willie gave it such deep feeling, meaning, and emotion. Thanks, man.

  • Holy shit! that's Shooter Jennings at 2:57 3:15 and 4:01 !

  • how cool would it be to be sitting in a park and have Willie walk by with his guitar? i can only dream that someday such a privilege is granted to me, it is not too often in this life when you are afforded the chance to sit at a Living Legends feet and absorb what he has to share that day.

  • red people, yellow's pinks and green's, rainbows are racist with streamers....

  • Rainbows symbolize many things. For one, a rainbow symbolizes union! You know how it takes both sun and rain to make a rainbow for example. Right? Regarding the GLBT community, the rainbow symbolizes human diversity joined together--and diversity within that diversity resembling the totality of humanity. After all, human beings are diverse, yet one. Now, I did not mean to go too deep here, but for those who were wondering why the GLBT community adopted the rainbow as a symbol--this is one reason.

  • God vevo sux!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • how bout u all shut the hell up willie nelson is great n he has done more than u could do even if u were still living with yer mom

  • @seanmacman15 wow, downer dude.

  • VEVO doesn't care about your comments. We all "hate" Vevo, yet we give them billions upon billions of views.

  • @bobaldeagleclark And now you messed it up for the gays.

You know, a rainbow is much more than just a couple of leprchauns humping each other, just like gays are a lot more than that. You must be very dumb, not seeing that. How can you be such a person, and still watch this video?

  • Kermie

  • dam that a pretty good song.. but kinda not my music ha ha good poet tho rromero286

  • Great sung by Willie

  • as much as i love willie nelson, this cover ain't that great

  • ...

  • Willie Nelson is truly an American legend.

  • Willie Nelson, song writer, poet, musician, all around nice guy. Writes a song of hope for everyone. He is just a nice guy. And like the song he wrote “There ain’t nothing I can do about it now”…Please just try to enjoy live. It is short make the most of it…

  • I didnt like it kookoo76

  • I really like the song it was very relaxing and peaceful. I love the way he states that the lovers, dreamers and him will find a rainbow connection. From what he is stating in his song he is suggesting that the rainbow is a peaceful alliance. Rainbows are beautiful, colorful and a significance of peace on earth or that is what I think he is talking about in his song. Signed Kittykisses2383

  • Nobody is going to even hazard an opinion about the word "connection"? Come on, throw me a bone, toss me a crumb. What kinds of things do you associate with the word "connection"? Hey, jcesar, I have never thought of this song as being melancholy, but it is. Thanks, Otterberry

  • This song's rhythm is a bit melancholic but the lyrics seem to have a touch of hope which is further than our own understanding (under a magic-spell). Nelson sings about hearing voices and asking if they have a meaning to them. I would agree that it has an occult theme for this.

Although this is not my preference of music genre it is a nice song. Signed jcesar

  • Actually, this song is moving because it's wonderfully written. And right here right now that's a very good song for Willie. I agree, Kermit would be proud. :)

  • How about just enjoying the song for what it is without trying to pick it apart?

  • Cannot find you Otterberry. I did try. ENG 1102-Tues 5:30-7:15

  • A beautiful cover, I am sure Kermit is proud... Perhaps they should do it as a duet =) Love Willie, love the song, it's all good!

  • hkjh

  • kermit does it better

  • @MikeERumsey then go look for a video of kermit singing this song, instead of going here and commenting irrelevant stuff

  • Students, though this song speaks of visions, hearing voices, and magic, not to mention star-gazing, few people would say the lyrics are built around an occult theme. Why is that? Before formulating a comment, look up connotations of the words "occult" and "connection." Regarding "connection," make sure you know how this word was used around the time the song was written. Signed, Otterberry

  • Well, in my opinion, these lyrics could be built around an occult theme, but only with the definition of occult being "beyond the range of ordinary knowledge or understanding; mysterious," or "secret; disclosed or communicated only to the initiated." When i first read this passage, i immanently thought of the meaning of occult being witchcraft, or something of that sort. But looking up that word, i saw that there is other meanings to that word. • the song is about afterlife. and thel reality 3d time space that you and I currenlty live in.

  • is Willie Nelson the origional singer of this song?

  • @TheFreakDr I suppose the specific "Original" Singer of this song was Kermit The Frog (aka Jim Henson) as it was written for the original Muppet Movie. After the song became a HUGE hit from that film the composer of the song, Paul Williams, recorded it for his album that came out in ... I want to say 1981 (ish) so it really belongs to the 3 of them, Paul, Kermit & Henson :)

  • @TheFreakDr wikipedia "rainbow connection" ..youll have your answer

  • @TheFreakDr ====Kermit the Frog 1981

  • Willie is the best of the best of the best.

  • Pot should be legal! I know many people who are hurting and pot makes them calm down and feel better, what wrong with that? Pot doesn't effect you like alcohol, alcohol has killed more people then pot ever will. I don't smoke pot but I feel it should be legal, the problem we have many self rightious bigots, who think it is just a drug. Yet those same people use hard drugs perscribed by thier doctor. It will be legal.

  • @rubshop30 Nothing is wrong with that accept you cant always use a herb to make yourself clam down because when the effects wear off your problem will still be there trust me I have been hurting since I was born and still am and I thought of using pot and drugs but I decided no id rather hurt then dulude myself whille losing brain cells.

  • @MegaSchoolgirls You lose brain cells as you age, but quality of life is important, the hardest drugs a prescibed by doctors. I have never seen somebody go crazy on just pot. Pot is good for your eyes, pot helps you eat when your ill. God put this herb naturally on the earth, probably to help us. Instead Pot is treated like hard drugs because it is stereotyped like all others. Make alcohol illegal and legalize pot! Alcohol has killed many more then pot will ever! I don't smoke pot!

  • @rubshop30 God also puts posion an the earth naturally should we go eat that? Ok you lose you eyesight as you grow older also and when your ill there isplenty of other stuff to help besides something that has a negative affect and no no one has gone crazy but every person I know who smokes pot is really dumb. And why do you kepp insisting that you dont smoke pot that just makes people supecious. And I agree with you about Alcohol but unfortunally that will never happen.

  • @MegaSchoolgirls

basically youa re calling willie nelson stupid.... he smokes weed every day... he owns a kick ass vaporizer too, custom made with rebel flags on it.... so why don't you just go read a bit from real studies. cuz there's another one done back in 2003 that proved marijuana slows and pretty much stops the growth of tumor cells.... ppl with your attitude are only holding back our society from evolving. marijuana will be the number one cure for cancer in the future. i ain't kiddin

  • @420protoman LOL

  • @rubshop30 Honestly I dont care if pot is legalized because it wont affect me since im not stupid enough to do it but this comment just bugged me based on the fact that it was on a video that had nothing to do with pot so I decided to write my opinion

  • Andy bernard version is really cool to :D

  • I sang this during my 6th grade graduation... 1981

  • Mi carini, esta cancion es taaaan linda!! siii pienso lo mismo. "coneccion arcoiris" ahora si que te extrano! besitos.

  • Paul Williams wrote this...Not Kermit...although...Kermie made it his own.....ribbitt....

  • hey vevo, nobody likes you

  • good song. beautiful.

  • Seems sad that even though this is a song about hope, sung by an old man who still seems to dream of a better world, in a place that was born to bring people a thousand miles apart together, we seem to have so many people who want to write down nothing but cynicism and vileness. Maybe it is just the way the world works, but that don't make good. It doesn't make it right.

  • @Mandelbrotmat Its called the Duality of Man
