I have some questions about the heart disease and the surgery also.
1) Why the atherosclerosis hapen to the coronary arteries. I'm asking that because the coronary arteries are working for the heart all the time unlike the other parts of the body like legs and hands.
2) how tight the arteries at the sewing order not to lose blood?
3) The arteries that been bypassed are still in the same position to the heart or we remove them. If they remain are they still working or they are dead?
There zero (0) evidence of a greater being/god, and there are lots of proof that people have made up gods to fit their needs. ANYONE would agree that at least 99% of gods are made up, except your own of course :).
lolippi, don't want to burst your bubble but, how do you know what God is capable of, that you are able to compare god and human? I mean, in order to compare A and B, you need to know the characteristic of A and characteristic of B first.
i hope that in a few years i will be able to preform miracles like the that. i truly admire and are grateful that there are people in this world who dedicate their lives to help save people.
My grandfather had this surgery about 4 maybe 5 weeks ago. The man who did his surgery was actually the man who did the first heart transplant in Europe. Everyone in my family was worried about him except me. I didn't care because I knew he'd make it through just fine. I could've put money on it. Now that bastard just needs to eat some cheerios. You know, the commericial?

@66jesko i doubt u have CAD (coronary artery disease). the pain due to CAD lasts 3-5 minutes (acute CAD maybe more than 15mins), is triggered usually by emotional or physical stress) and is not affected by breathing or coughing. analgesics dont help aleviate the pain. the way u describe it i guess u have a contusio (due to sport injury maybe) or worse case senario a fractured rib.

Hey youtube, i have a question hopefully someone has an intelligent response. I am currently in the process of joining the army, i leave for basic april 25th. I've been having some pain in my upper right chest and it hurts to breath in deep and cough. I was wondering what this might be i did a little bit of reading and heard it might be a blocked artery that would require a bypass. I was just wondering if it is still possible to be active, running/jumping after this surgery. Thanks.
@66jesko the fact that it's worse on deep breathing sounds to me like it's something to do with the lungs, rather than the heart, but i'm not a qualified doctor! (i'm a medical student, so this is only my thoughts, not anything official you can rely on! if you're worried see a real doctor) is it worse on exercise? does the pain radiate anywhere? how old are you? how long has it been going on for? have you done anything that could have caused muscle strain? do you get reflux/heart burn?
@alexdehnel everthing is better now. i think i just took to much robitussin and my body didnt like it, the pain stayed for a good 2 weeks but is gone now. no examination or anything breathing is all regular w/o pain, last time i do that ever

Thank you for posting this video. I am sure that so many people will feel a need to see this - perhaps late at night, alone, and it really beginning to hit home as to what a heart attack is, whilst waiting (whether in wee small hours of wakefulness or just generally, for days) for it to all go ahead. When hubby was being kept in hosp. having discovered he had diabetes, it was different - just different. Thank you again. jm Australia

Only few accomplish such highltraining which neds not only hard work but better part of your precuious life span u r own life living like a hermit for you patient always oncall no time for family relaxation as much as other people like him inother profession Medical study is veery expensive requires intelligence scholorship supporting and undertanding spouse children & family .Its one in mllion such exceptional human being with right combinartion of talents as mentioned come together in a dr.
I had a quad bypass two years ago, and it is absolutely amazing how I felt then, and feel now,...thank you Dr. Yi and others at St. Pauls in Vancouver,....every day above ground is a good one!!!!
Well i just had bypass surgery 11 days ago, they had me up and sitting in a chair and walking the next day. Very painful and really feel beat up but for the first time in many many years, i can go up and down stairs without feeling like i'm going to have a heart attack.
My good friend is going to have this operation Jan 4, 2010 after having a heart attack, she is just 25 years old. God bless the amazing Dr's whom can perform this life saving surgery.
One day after the operation I was standing, and 2 days after I was walking. It's painful to get in and out of bed. And it's painful to think of all that was involved. My body feels used and abused.
And even tho they said there was only a 5% chance of something going wrong, it was and is a very scary thing.
Since I got out of the hospital, everything I do, like the first time I walked outside my house, or the first time I talked to my friends again, I tear up and cry, as I thought I'd never be able to do it again as I thought I was going to die.
This is plain amazing to be honest. I can't wait to be doing things like this. It just amazes me how this amazing little thing keeps people alive and how technology can repair it.
I had this done about 6 weeks ago, very sore and bruised for a few weeks, but recovery was fairly quick. I feel much better now. I'm only 45, but I have a family history of heart disease. If anyone plans on having it done, just know that it you will feel so much better.
Yikes, this is why surgeon is not my medical of choice, I would rather work with medicine or someone who gives anesthesia to the patience doing a surgery.
I had bad hardening of arteries with symptoms. I used the citric acid content in lemon juice in water and this eliminated the calcium build up. NO symptoms. I used 340 large lemons two daily. An aneurysm was felt in right subclavian artery. The "aescin" content in horse chestnut REPAIRED it. My results are far superior with far less expense than any invasive surgery you MD's are so GD greedy and let people die rather than know the healing power of lemons (superior to pomegranate).

They really are the heroes, and from what I have heard, most people don't express the gratitude that you have to their surgeons. God bless them, truly! They saved my husband who is not much older than you! Nurses too devote themselves to their patients and to their families and deserve recognition as well.
