I bought this laptop 8 months back. Never took it out of my house.. It was brilliant in the beginning...but now.. I`v got a load of problems coming up one by one -- The laptop heats like a frying pan...15 mins is all it takes to heat up. Once i start performing video editing, the machine powers off automatically.. Guess it cant take the load anymore... The battery has died off completely...So, i have to use the power source now.. Persoanlly, i think this is the worst laptop i ever used.. !!!

mine is fucked... i dont recommend this at all. but i guess others had a different experience.. Ive had to take out my internal wireless as this was causing a lot of lag issues.. cpu is improved greatly but isnt perfect. temperature wise, its warm as a boiling pot of fresh demon jizz.

This is an amazing machine. I'm with it almost 2 years already. I used it first with Windows XP serv pack 2 operating system. It worked just GREAT. And when I apply Windows 7 this machine became fantastic. Never reached more than 55 degrees overheating! It falls down from my chair and from my bed a couple of times - still working without any problems and Acer is not an expensive laptop which is too important for me right now. So... I'm very happy and pleased to have it. My next will be ACER!

@diavolo23231 Acer rocks, in 2007 my parents bought an Acer laptop and last year it fell 2 times from a table and hit the floor really hard, but it still works! I bough one for me too this year because it's just awesome.

@slayer4ewer For those who have problems with overheating and restarting, look on the back of the laptop! Aspire 5738G should have 2 slots for cooling, mine use to have just one on the side, while the second one from the botom was just drawn! Scratch those drawn lines and make holes, and your laptop will be not overheat again!

this is the most idiotic computer i have ever had. three months after i got it, i started getting bluescreen as hell, and two months later the left clickiething broke. when i send it in now, it's the fourth freaking time i send it in. would not recommend this even to the devil, or my biggest and most asshole enemies.

Yep, i have an acer with athlon x2 2.1 ghz, 2gb ram, and ati radeon 4200 wish 256 mb up to 1700mb using ram and i almost can run any game...

Some vendors compare prices with others and gauges their prices to become more appealing to customers, that way they hope to get more sales. Go for the 1gb graphics, bigger memory basically means better graphics =)
