  • Masterpeice!

  • video's called, SL300D test drive

  • you could'ent get them in uk. petrol only. was thinking about making 1 out of a 500sel

    and a w124 300d

  • @whareth thats very hard. especially with the ignition. everything in the diesels run on vacuum, the gas models dont. but why would you destroy a 500sel?

  • @europe0wnz the idea was to make a nice big taxi

  • @whareth That should be an interesting swap. I always wondered why they were never offered with the trusted diesel engines in Africa or Europe. Take pics or videos if ever you start the swap. It will be inspirational to many who may want to go that route.

  • @abiezz I've seen 1's here on you tube, a 300SDL and a SL 300D. i'll post lik if i find them.

  • @abiezz they never made one for the UK market because the turbo would foul the steering system because we drive on the Left.

  • @tog20 Just drive on the right & dodge the incoming cars. It's fun and you can drive 300SDL.

  • @abiezz Nowadays it's the other way around. Much harder to find diesels in America than Europe. They're a much better engine for daily driving/reliability, too.

  • classic

  • Good video. always nice to see and SDL!!!!

  • straight 6

  • Turbo, diesel, inline 6.

  • Long live the MB Diesel! I've put a video of my blowby up. It is a little more but still with in spec.

  • mercedes forever

  • music

  • No, inline 6 turbo diesel. OM603 engine.

  • r6 ;)

  • wonderful...mercedes for life

  • just keep on driving it man..

  • hm, it does sound like a tensioner shock...

  • the noise sounds like a tensioner shock

  • I agree, I replaced mine and it was much better.

  • How do you replace the tensioner shock.

  • Loosen the bolts, use the lug wrench to tilt the plastic mount at the top, so you can take the spring off. Then, unbolt remove and replace the shock/dampener.

  • Still clueless but thanks.

  • Go to Mercedesshop -dot- com and join. Free, LOTS of pictures and folks willing to help.

  • Do you take the fan or the fan shroud out to access these parts? Is this the one on the passenger side of the engine we are talking about?

  • No, they're clear in the video. It's directly left of the radiator hose output ON the cylinder head. Go to ebaymotors and see 'Mercedes belt shock damper.' Also, get a shop manual.

  • u might want to take a look into whatever that horrible clicking noise is...

  • post more vids! I love that car,
