This track fits all FIA standards. Would be a perfect site for a F1 race. The 4.5 mile road course is perfect for F1. I guarantee there would be passing opportunities at this track in F1. Remember Spa is a long track as well.
Unless you are a driver, where do you get off commenting on the quality of the track? Try a google search, and read what the drivers are saying. Locally I've heard mostly complimentary things. And as much as I dislike Larry Miller. I've got to give him props for bringing us this track.
FIA standards require the track to have large run off areas, good curbing and barriers around the entire perimeter, none of which this track has. It does look great there an should be considered for f1 or world touring cars
Yes, the facilities are up to FIA specs (Garages and all), but not the track. Plus, pit out looks kind of sketchy. I would als guess that they would probably run the outter configuration. because 4.5 miles would be a but to long for F1.
The full course is very repetitive and doesn't allow for great spectating. The 3 mile outer loop would produce the same amount of passing opportunities, but more frequently every lap; Turn 1, 5, 6, the down hill chicane and the last two turns. There needs to be more asphalt runoff and the curbs would have to be replaced. Pit out would have to be re-designed as well since it spits you out onto the racing line (which is not the case on all other F1 tracks) However the Indy Car isn't as particular.
True that, this track is awesome, but I heard rumors although the money invested so far, its still not up to spec, and the local market/population is not large enough. This is way better than indy for F1!

might make a nice indycar or champcar track. if they can find enough spectators maybe we'll see an open wheel race here one day

Why would it be too long? I think Spa is considerably longer. What would they need to do exactly to make it FIA spec?

makes me wish mr. miller was interested in getting the USGP. Would be nice to see F1 in the US at a "proper track" again.
