@Zorkovic lets start with ashley cole, jose enrique, vermaelen (i know it's not his proper position but he's way more reliable than BAE), baines, taylor, kolarov, gibbs, ryan taylor, evra all apart from the first 4 aren't as good as when BAE is at his best but are way more consistent which is the most important thing in a defender

@ganchamp BAE has turned in 5 assists, two goals, and 9 clean sheets this season. He's been improving considerable since Bale has been roaming inside giving him more space to attack down the left hand flank. Not to mention, he's cool, calm and collected in possession you don't play the football that Spurs have without defenders who can play it out of defender. The likes of Ryan Taylor are no where near in terms of quality.

BAE is a classy player, he clearly hasn't been playing like that every match or we wouldn't have picked him. he has played almost every match this year for spurs and is now a regular in the team and as good going forward as he is defending. alan hansen's comments seem as ignorant as yours that he is 'guff'. he is arguably one of the best left backs in the league and has great skill and vision. i'd like to see the left back of the team you support is because that would show you up. good video

He's decent but not good enough if Spurs want to win the PL or do well in CL next year [almost guarranteed they will]. I reckon they should try get Jordi Alba off Valencia although I dunno if he'd move [savage player though] or a cheaper option could be Leighton Baines but I doubt he'll have the pace to match the rest of Spurs.If they get King/Dawson fit alongside Walker (brilliant player) and get a better LWB they'll have an amazing starting 11.

assou-ekotto is class. end of. his style of play makes it easy to castigate him when he has the odd off-day (which isnt often; definitely our best/most consistent player last year after modric)
however, i'm glad hansen has said something that generated some debate. MOTD is so boring these days with pointless analysis. i'd rather this than shearer pointing out that someone's scored a goal under the guise of 'expert opinion' and getting paid £500k a year to do it.

Anyway Ekotto does sometimes have a game were he just can't do anything right, but so do Spurs in general, and he does sometimes give away a needless penalty, but I'd say Cole, Evra.....well that's about all there is in terms of who's better. Some games Ekotto is immense.

Everyone has bad days at the office, but the only left back in the prem i would trade assou for is cashley cole and even then id be reluctant to cos everyone knows what a likeable guy assou is and what a twat cashley is. Yeah it was not his best match but the whole team was poor that day. And Seamus Coleman played very well.
Ekotto has a great passing range, he plays the game simply, and he has good chemistry. He is rarely if ever out of position, as well. Compare him to Alan Hutton who basically was born out of position on the right
