John Micheal was around 11 yrs old in this video. Would you mind tagging his name in this video, so that it will show up when someone types in his name. Thanks for capturing this.
@50fabulous1 Again, as with the first video, thanks for the nudge to add John Michael's last name. I just wish I knew the last names of the other fellas.
I think John Michael is now like 12 or 13 years old. He has played with the Treme Brass Band, among others. He's got a great, supportive network of musicians in NOLA - to help teach him the music. His Mom is also fantastic. This song, fyi - is "Big Chief" - then they go into "A P Tuoro"... Don't know the other guys - but in NOLA - there's lots of opportunities if the students want to learn.
Thank you for providing the song titles and information about John Michael. I wish him and the other fellas the best and hope to see them performing again next time I go home.
They were all about 15 give or take a year or 2. Nice fellas, too. I hope they all have long and prosperous careers and lives. And, at the risk of being selfish, I hope they stay in the city for there to be a blend of old and new to keep the music alive. Music isn't born in a generation but with it and passed on to the next.
