  • at 1:06 rule 34 no exceptions.

  • snub nose are great close range guns.

  • i got the ruger sp101. 357 is a devastating round, dont know much about taurus, but ruger and sw make great revolvers.

  • @JackSureshot Yeah, I'd probably still have it if it was a ruger or s&w. I just didn't like how sloppy it was, jammed quite frequently with .357 rounds. The 38s shot fine and were very accurate.

  • Bull shit.

  • @isamtator What does bovine fecal material have to do with this video?

  • Well, snubnosed revolvers are the worst gun you can have, worse than a .25. your better to throw the gun at some one!

  • @isamtator Snub-nosed revolvers aren't bad at all. In fact they are quite good. There is no way I'd carry a .25 over a .357mag and definitely no way I'd throw my gun at an attacker. I carry a .40S&W now simply because the recoil of the .357 was too much for my carpal tunnel syndrome. I am curious as to why you think snub-nosed revolvers are so terrible.

  • Well, for starters, they have way more recoil. Secondly, they are not as accurate at all. I owned one, bought one with a 4 incher. and hit six shoits a quarter could cove at 27 yards. Snub nose had to get within 4 yards to do so.

  • @isamtator I agree about the recoil, nasty muzzle flash and the fact they are louder than all hell. But mine was fairly accurate out to 10 yards. If it had a better trigger and sight, I'm sure I could have done much better. The longer sight radius and reduced recoil are going to make the shooter more accurate. The gun itself, even with the 2" barrel, is very accurate. It's just more difficult to shoot accurately. Anyway, I sold the gun in the video and bought a SA XD-40sc.

  • @GIDAN2987 I saw one video of him shooting balloons at 100yards with a snubbie. It was definitely impressive.

  • @GIDAN2987 That is correct.

  • Awesome, self defense shots are 7 yards or closer. Unless your hunting, then you wouldn't use a snubby.

  • @jose33139 You are exactly right! Nice to see some people out there still have some common sense. Thanks.

  • ok i get wut ur tryin to do but u need to back up past 7 yards if ur gonna test accuracy on any firearm

  • @heiney69 I wasn't testing accuracy. I was just out shooting and it happened. Pretty simple.

  • @ericandamanda338 then y does the title talk about accuracy and y does ur openin statement say " if anyone wants to question the accuracy of a snub nose 38 well they can be quite accurate

  • @heiney69 Because the video shows that the gun can be quite accurate. Who tests accuracy on bowling pins? Not me. Like I said before, I wasn't out trying to prove anything. I was simply practicing with my carry gun and it happened. Then I made a video showing what happened. It's not that complicated. If it bothers you so much, then don't watch the video. That too is pretty simple. Not sure why you are jumping my ass for something like this, don't you have better things to do?

  • Yours looks like a 605. I have the same gun. Get the hogue grips - you'll be amazed.

  • @Gorbachev Looks like a 650 to me, probably because it is. The 605 is the same gun but with an exposed hammer. The 650 is hammerless. I don't have the pistol anymore so I'm probably not going to get the hogue grips. I did try them, and decided against them because they were too big and sticky and caught on clothes.

  • Have you tried 357 out of it yet? I have one. With 357 I always get extruded primers and a jammed gun. I sent it back to Taurus, and it came back still broken.

  • @armeijamies That happened to me once when I was using BuffaloBore ammo, but normal .357's worked fine. I sold it the gun though, I have pretty bad carpal tunnel syndrome in my wrist and the recoil was killing me. I bought an XD-40 subcompact to replace it.

  • Great video. subbed

  • @zenanskig Thanks!

  • Snub nosed revolvers are just like other sidearms in that MOST of them are more accurate than the shooter. The smaller sight radius and less than perfect ergonomics simply make them harder to aim with.

  • @ZOTMAN5 You are 100% correct.

  • Awesome! Robin Hood would be impressed!

  • looked like a factory round

  • It was. As my description says, it was Remington UMC .38 special w/ 130gr FMJ bullets.

  • does your taurus have fixed sights? I've got a rosse .357 with a 2 inch barrel, it always shoots to the left. very annoying.

  • Yes, the sights are fixed. Not the best but I can always hit what I'm aiming at.

  • BADASS! I just bought the same gun; getting ready to go the shooting range.

  • Cool, have fun and be safe. I'm sure you'll have as much fun with it as I have with mine. Let me know how your range trip goes.

  • I had a blast at the gun range. I'm just a novice and learning my gun so i shot 50 rounds of 38 special; when i get skilled enough I'll try the .357 bullets. I really happy with the gun, talk about an exquisite firepower in your hand.

  • In my very limited experience with Taurus short barreled revolvers, they seem to be extremely accurate, I was abslutely shocked with the accuracy of my 3" Model 605, very very comforting for a CCW to demonstrate that kind of consistency.

  • NEET!

  • Thanks for the info and explaining. Can't wait to see what that .357's gonna do.

  • Would a .357 round go through the bottom side of the bowling pin if its sitting up right? You mention double action, but I didn't see a hammer?

  • I've yet to get any of my handgun rounds to fully penetrate a bowling pin. I'm going shooting today and I'm bring my .357 out, so I'll give it another try. My ammo is hollow point and it probaby won't completely penetrate the pin. I'll have to find some FMJ .357 and give it a try.

An external hammer is used for single action shooting. My hammer is internal, hence the way the revolver looks. This means that you can't shoot single action ( pull the hammer) and it must be shot DAO.

  • how bad is the kick with the .357's?

  • I'm not going to lie, it kicks pretty hard. It's really "snappy" if that makes any sense. I've got CTS (carpal tunnel syndrome) in my wrist, so I can shoot about 25-30 full power .357's before my hand starts hurting. My GF can only shoot about 5 and she says her hand hurts. On the other hand, I can shoot .38 specials all day long and not have any problems. If I am going to shoot .357's, I try to find 125gr. rounds.

  • well im 5 foot 9 and 148 pounds. i am going to be 18 wen i purchase this weapon (16 now) u think i can handle the full .357 for my defensive round?

  • Yeah, you should be able to handle it just fine. I have a friend that is 6'0" and 125lbs and he shoots my father's .480 Ruger with no problem. I'd shoot some .38's first to get a feel for the gun and to prevent yourself from developing a flinch. But yes, you shouldn't have any problems with the recoil. Where do you live? The last time I checked you needed to be 21 to purchase any handgun in the US. You might want to check out your local laws.

  • i live in albany but im going to new hampshire to get it (less paper work involved) im pretty sure u can get one there at 18. question does firing 38's out of a snub 38 make ur gun very dirty cuz thats wat i heard?

  • I haven't noticed the .38's being any dirtier than the .357's. I just shot 20 .357's out of my revolver last week and it got really dirty. I don't feel that the .38 are any dirtier, unless you use non-jacketed bullets (lead) in your ammo. Then it gets extremely dirty. I think it depends more on the quality of ammo you use in the revolver, the higher the quality, the cleaner it should be.

  • for .38s im planing on using 158 g +p swchps 4 the .357 i was thinking the 158 g speer gold dot. how often do u cleen ur gun?

  • I only use .38's for practice. I carry .357's for defense. That being said, whatever is the cheapest .38's, that's what I use. I do prefer FMJ just because they are cleaner though. The gold dots are great bullets, can't go wrong with them. I personally carry BuffaloBore ammo, either their tactical short barrel .357 125gr, or their heavy .357 125gr ammo. Both utilize the gold dot bullet, but loaded for higher performance. The heavy .357's kick HARD. The short barrel stuff is much easier.

  • Oh, and I clean all my guns every time I shoot them. I'm really picky about keeping them clean.

  • ok. but the thing is if it hurts my hand to fire it think of wat itl do to the other guy lol

  • do u think that i even need to use the 158 g or is the 125 g enough?

  • It's all personal choice. I prefer the 125gr over the 158gr. The 125's are plenty of power with a little less recoil.

  • thanks. i think im still gunna go with the 158's tho just for the little xtra stoping power. uve been a great help thanks man im gunna subscribe rite now :p in two years i will be sleeping soundly with my smith and wesson tucked snugly under my pillow i love the second amendment

  • That's funny. I had the exact opposite effect. I use the 125gr SJHP. That round is louder, kicks more and gives off a much brighter flash. Great psychological effect plus the ballistics of the 125gr are much better for close-in personal defense than the heavier rounds. That's my experience. Thanks.

  • @TheTexasRooster so with heavier rounds you can shoot far with this revolver

  • cool!!
