I'm surprised you haven't heard about this. It's called the NFL's "Belicheat Rule". It states that, each season, the Patriots are allowed a certain amount of games in which they can cheat. This year it was 14. Last year it was only 10. In 2007, they let them cheat in every game all the way up to the super bowl... and then revoked their cheating priviledges right AFTER Brady's TD pass to Moss with 2:42 left in the game.
That explains the Tyree helmet catch and why the Pats lost.
