The M11X is faster and lighter. The M11 uses a module so you can make it compatible with 75 and 27mhz equipment. We have a LOT of M11 owners using their radios with the Kyosho Mini Z cars! Oh, and of course the M11 is a little more affordable than the M11X. So it's a trade-off.
Hi, I'm getting into racing more and I want to invest in a good radio, my LHS has a M11 and I was thinking about getting it. For a beginner into complicated radio systems would the m11 be fine or should I look at the M11x
In order to optimize the range on water, the antenna should be placed as high as possible outside the deck of the boat. If the antenna is coiled inside the hull you can limit the range considerably.
...now why am I having range issues with the M11x and RX451 on water? Range has dropped considerably to approx 100meters. This was the last thing I expected from this top notch system. Looking forward to a reply.
Uncertain as to why your Hitec servo failed. However, if your speed control is putting out 35amps (as you indicated) then that could definitely be a problem. You might double check the speed control's BEC output. Normally, BEC outputs are in the neighborhood of 5v and 3.5 amps. Other than that, the HS-81 servo should work just fine with the 92744 receiver.
I love this radio! Previously I was using the Airtronics MX-3 FHSS system for 2 years. I had no problems and it was glitch free. I've been taking my racing seriously over the past 6 months and upgrading to the M11X was the best decision I ever made. I love all the adjustments, it's easy to use, the screen is legible and I don't think it's that heavy. It feels smoother and definitely faster response. My first Airtronics radio never failed me so I decided to stick with Airtronics, great job guys!
The response time with the M11X using the 92744 receiver is about 4-4.5ms. If you use it with the 92451 receiver, the response time is only 2.5ms. With either receiver, they're still faster than any other radio on the market.
Regarding the weight, I don't have the exact specs on that. The M11X is heavier than the DX3R, but so is any other radio! lol... The M11X is lighter than the M11 and using the M11X with a 2-cell lipo helpslighten the load a bit as well.
Craig, how many milli seconds is the response time? I'm using the DX3R but only Losi Team drivers seem to get the drop down steering wheel. That's what I like about the M11x, the wheel is already on the same axis as the throtle/brake. How much heavier is this radio in grams and ounces? Thank you Craig, in advance.
i have m11x,m8,mx3x,dx3r..i dun know..i just love collecting them..haaha..next target = futaba

i think i just burned my servo (HS-81MG) is it because of receiver (92744)? or the ESC (35A/6BEC) i used regular 7.4 nimh stick, whats wrong?

The 92744 receiver that comes with the M11X is suitable for a 2S lipo with no regulator. Just make sure your servos are! ;-)
