i was bullied throughout school, being among the few "eccentric personalities" in a country school. it damaged me for what i fear is beyond repair. i've always been under the impression that i am completely different and that being different is wrong. the teachers were of no help, for they solidified the belief that i was a bad kid; reporting to my parents that i would not "conform." here i am, at an age that would be considered adult, but i still feel 10 years old inside. do not bully.

there's so many problems in this country that could contribute to this, parents need to start taking responsibility for their kids more, instead of letting the television and video games play that role, and kids need to be told right from wrong or you end up with a unruly child who thinks they can do whatever they want without any consequences for their actions

One thing all of you who are being bullied need to remember. Those that bully you are FAR weaker than you in mind, spirit, soul, character, and heart. They bully because they think so little of themselves, otherwise, they would have the brains to know how wrong it is to bully. I had tons of friends.. but they weren't even friends. All the words and comments they think i dont hear make me wants to end life. put all my problems behind me. Kay, it's not really enough to say "This really surprises me..." all detached like. It really isn't because you can just tell this is more annoyance than anything.
Second of all, part of the bullying problem is that our teacher's take the easiest route and simply force the victim to stay in line, "and stop playing the victim role". To fight back, but not by defending yourself if people beat you up, or say anything even remotely objectionable, or go to the police.
If I had a kid that was being bullied I would find the kid who was doing it, look him in the eye and tell him I'm going to slit his throat if he contiues fucking with my kid.

I survived the words and physical attacks BUT I will never forget and it has ALWAYS affected the way I respond to apathetic people who don't understand and probably never experienced continual, repeated harassment. That took a lot of courage to post your video, and you have all our support! As a children's author, I do a lot of school visits and the students almost always end up talking about their bullying experiences which are pretty horrendous. Just know that you're not alone and that there are a lot of people supporting you!

I hope I dont dismiss my child if he feels threatened like all these other parents. Ive been bullied since the third grade. Im in 12th grade now. When your parents tell you to ignore the bullies, you realize that's the right thing to do, but I still never realized until now. Since parents went through those experiences and later got through them and dismissed them, they don't think their child's experiences are that bad. It's just a vicious circle that I will stop. At least with my child.
Speaking as a woman who was bullied as a child, I can tell you that the school does NOT do anything to fight bullies. In fact most schools will tell you "What's wrong with your kid if they're being attacked?" They hide behind the bullies.

Bullying sucks and is pervasive and rampant and something needs to be done about it. But you do also have to toughen up and work on your self-esteem and learn to deal with it as well as you can. If you think it's tough in Junior High or grade school, or even High School, you ain't experienced NOTHING until you step out into the real world as an adult. Good luck. You're going to need it.

thats so awesome she had the nerve to post a video up on bullying~ if only i had the resources to do that when I was in middle school..i would have done the same~ its complete BS that the school systems do not do more to keep bullying from happening...it needs to change because whatever each individual has to go through in their school years will remain with them for the rest of their life's...sometimes it'll even end their life's, and it truly isn't fair.

Grown ups deal with bullying too. In public and at work. I have defended myself against this many times. People have threatened to hurt me, but they would not dare touch me. Go to rehab, stop committing sex crimes against kids and get a life. perhaps i'm the only thing you live for. It hasn't made her weaker. She's used her internal resources. She's obviously exceptionally strong. Expressing emotion and understanding your emotions is what makes you strong. Even through all the bullying and adversity, she's maintaining control of her destiny, as long as she can care for herself in this way. I think she's doing a better job then @mojobanjo88, though I'm glad they made it through too. We are generations of the bullied.

@alyepollack he became a delinquent cuz that's the life he chose and I knew that if we crossed paths again and I'd have serious issues if we did but before that could ever happen he ended up dying of a gunshot!..I felt relieved. My advise to you is pray to God for guidance & take boxing lessons (but only use what u learn for defense if u do that for situations like the 1 ur in). Now if it's just more then 1 girl or person then just keep doing what you're doing & take legal actions or try @ least
@alyepollack I kind of had a similar situation except I kind of started it cuz I saw that the bully used to pick on one of the kids he supposedly chilled with all the time... I was just in 3rd grade (in a school that goes up to 5th) & I felt scared this kid would be waiting for me after school in a street corner or something. To make a long story short this kid was very bad but I believe God looked out for me in this one cuz a few years later we were teens...
I know how it feels to be bullied. I dealt with it from Middle School even up to when I graduated High School. I was called names and my Senior year in high school I had a desk shoved into my back everyday in one class. I threatened to report one guy for the harrassment and on my way to class he pushed me against a wall and punched me in the throat. I had food thrown in my open locker. NO ONE should ever have to go through school like that. There needs to be more strict laws against it.
I totally relate to this girl, I was bullied so badly in middle school, I cut myself and I contemplated suicide. Luckily in high school things got better, but seriously people, words hurt, and the things people say can really stick to you. I remember almost all the horrible things people used to say to me, and it still haunts me today. Please think before you speak, it can save a life.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH madmads678... i go to school with this gurl in westport. I have met alye before and i do feel bad for her but i also dont, she is also a bully who makes fun of people more than people bully her. Kay, it's not really enough to say "This really surprises me..." all detached like. It really isn't because you can just tell this is more annoyance than anything.
Second of all, part of the bullying problem is that our teacher's take the easiest route and simply force the victim to stay in line, "and stop playing the victim role". To fight back, but not by defending yourself if people beat you up, or say anything even remotely objectionable, or go to the police.

I survived the words and physical attacks BUT I will never forget and it has ALWAYS affected the way I respond to apathetic people who don't understand and probably never experienced continual, repeated harassment. Stop accepting it as a normal part of growing up! Sibling rivalry, hyper-competitiveness, and violent entertainment should NEVER be common, normal, overlooked, and acceptable. I just got bullied today, he kept calling me big head and tellin me to shut up and just causing a big scene in the cafateria and i said some insults back and kept pushin him off of me, and he's so eager to protect his reputation he asks to meet me in the bathroom trying to be all bad, he tried to slam me on my back and failed, and the teacher came by so i just walked out..i smile like everything is easy going, but inside you don't even want to know...

As a children's author, I do a lot of school visits and the students almost always end up talking about their bullying experiences which are pretty horrendous. I hope I dont dismiss my child if he feels threatened like all these other parents. Ive been bullied since the third grade. Im in 12th grade now. When your parents tell you to ignore the bullies, you realize that's the right thing to do, but I still never realized until now. Since parents went through those experiences and later got through them and dismissed them, they don't think their child's experiences are that bad. It's just a vicious circle that I will stop. At least with my child.

Speaking as a woman who was bullied as a child, I can tell you that the school does NOT do anything to fight bullies. In fact most schools will tell you "What's wrong with your kid if they're being attacked?" They hide behind the bullies.

Bullying sucks and is pervasive and rampant and something needs to be done about it. But you do also have to toughen up and work on your self-esteem and learn to deal with it as well as you can. It hasn't made her weaker. She's used her internal resources. She's obviously exceptionally strong. Expressing emotion and understanding your emotions is what makes you strong. Even through all the bullying and adversity, she's maintaining control of her destiny, as long as she can care for herself in this way. I think she's doing a better job then @mojobanjo88, though I'm glad they made it through too. We are generations of the bullied.

@alyepollack he became a delinquent cuz that's the life he chose and I knew that if we crossed paths again and I'd have serious issues if we did but before that could ever happen he ended up dying of a gunshot!..I felt relieved. My advise to you is pray to God for guidance & take boxing lessons (but only use what u learn for defense if u do that for situations like the 1 ur in). Now if it's just more then 1 girl or person then just keep doing what you're doing & take legal actions or try @ least

@alyepollack I kind of had a similar situation except I kind of started it cuz I saw that the bully used to pick on one of the kids he supposedly chilled with all the time... I was just in 3rd grade (in a school that goes up to 5th) & I felt scared this kid would be waiting for me after school in a street corner or something. To make a long story short this kid was very bad but I believe God looked out for me in this one cuz a few years later we were teens...

I know how it feels to be bullied. I dealt with it from Middle School even up to when I graduated High School. I was called names and my Senior year in high school I had a desk shoved into my back everyday in one class. I threatened to report one guy for the harrassment and on my way to class he pushed me against a wall and punched me in the throat. I had food thrown in my open locker. NO ONE should ever have to go through school like that. There needs to be more strict laws against it.

I totally relate to this girl, I was bullied so badly in middle school, I cut myself and I contemplated suicide. Luckily in high school things got better, but seriously people, words hurt, and the things people say can really stick to you. Yes for some people who are confident in who they are don't realize that people get doubts and have breaking points if they are told the same thing again and again. They also neglect to pay attention to the fact if told often enough they WILL believe what people say they are. Where do you think most murders come from?

And then when people confront you about it, you say you are joking, and don't take you seriously, and somehow, the bullied has not learn to cope properly. I TOTALLY AGREE WITH madmads678... i go to school with this gurl in westport. I have met alye before and i do feel bad for her but i also dont, she is also a bully who makes fun of people more than people bully her. This video that she made has given my school and westport the worst REPUTATION!!!! and i am veryyyyyy mad about that, and so do a lot of other kids in our school do.

She probably did it subconsciously or maybe she didn't, ...you get my point. So what if you got a bad reputation personally every school deserves some form of bad reputation. I just had to thank the people responsible for the video on YouTube.
I actually havent been bullied ever and never was one, its discusting to judge people on things they never really had a choose in: Hair skin religion sexuallity etc.
Do your thing F*ck them all. Its your life. your future.

stand up for yourself alye. you seem like an amazing person. be brave, be strong. i was bullied earlier this year by someone who verbally abused me, and even threw things at me one day. i stood up for myself and it got so much better. talk to your parents they will help you. you are not alone.
