A Brabus S 500 does not exist. There is the Brabus S Class and one Version uses the S500 as Base. The 6.3 Biturbo comes in 3 Versions (S600). But You either talk about a Mercedes S500 or a Brabus S Class 6.1 / S600 vs. 6.3 (R) Biturbo ((S) / 750).
The SL65 is an exciting car, but you are wrong about corvettes. The five year warranties and track wins in endurance races say otherwise for reliability. Say all you want but corvettes are faster and a third the price, even if they have cheap interiors.

How about this then; its a fact that if a corvette goes around a corner at a certain g force, all the oil will shift to one side, causing damage to the engine.
Thats not a problem unique to corvettes, it happens to a large number of cars at sustained high g force loads. All of the oil doesn't shift and the main problem is mainly increased oil temperature due to less of it being pumped. You only see conditions like this in long sweeper turns and honestly your own SL65 may not be immune to oil starvation. Get the dick out of your mouth and stop being a fanboy.

@MeMrJust Ok simple explanation. A STOCK SL65 can run the quarter mile in 11.7 seconds at 126. That is with stock street tires. With Slicks that number can easily drop to 11.5 seconds. Last year 53 million production cars were produced. Of cars currently being produced there are less than 150 car models that can run the quarter mile in less than 12 seconds. So my statement of the sl65 being faster than 99 percent of the cars in the world still stands. No need for luck, just common sense. =)

@vindicator2008 , i think the reason these 65 AMG benzs are virtually no faster than some of the non AMGs is b/c they just have TOO MUCH torque. Honestly, even with AWD and racing tires, 738 ft-lbs is just too much to get a fair amount of traction for acceleration sprints.
But from a rolling start, VERY few cars can keep up with this beast.
@vindicator2008 You're forgetting that much of the weight in Mercedes comes from their arsenal of technology which easily outdoes the average nuclear submarine. It's safer too, with a gazillion airbags, and much more. There's also the fact that this is a *very comfortable* car. Leather, wood, heavy seats that contain heating etc. Not like a Porsche: when you step on the pedal, your passengers can't breathe because of all the power on their chest, literally. (check out 911 turbo S)

I think what you guys are actually looking at is the fact that the 65's speedometer goes to 360km. WHen compared to the regular mercedes benz dials it would give the impression of going slower....but in reality its hauling ass.

@MeMrJust Ok simple explanation. A STOCK SL65 can run the quarter mile in 11.7 seconds at 126. That is with stock street tires. With Slicks that number can easily drop to 11.5 seconds. Last year 53 million production cars were produced. Of cars currently being produced there are less than 150 car models that can run the quarter mile in less than 12 seconds. So my statement of the sl65 being faster than 99 percent of the cars in the world still stands. No need for luck, just common sense. =)

@MeMrJust The 53 million is referring to the number of cars sold worldwide last year. The Sl65 is one of the top 150 fastest production cars sold today. That would make it faster than 99 percent of the cars on the road today. A pretty simple, straightforward explanation and answer.

@kaffe33 its not about horsepower...transmission, tractioncontrol, tires, weather, driver...u cant even compare m6 vs. sl 65amg V10 5litre vs. v12 6litre turbo...the m6 runs 0-100kmh in 4,6sec without turbo + the sl 65amg got 1000ccm³ more + 2 cylinders more... so i would say bmw won this battle even if the m6 is slower ;)

I was going to buy an E46 M3 or a Z3 M but couldn't get insured on either because of my age, so opted for an E46 330 but got a 9-5 Aero instead because it is faster. Also, my father has had an M3 at the time and now has an X5M. Frankly, I have PLENTY of room to talk about BMW and am thinking of buying an E38 750. The S65 is faster than the M5 and M6 and weighs more than the SL65. Work that one out for yourself you douche!

@nmac121 it really is not that fast - take a S600, that is way larger and much more luxurious, 5 seater limousine, and is about as fast as this - so this should be faster, since its a sports car.

@vindicator2008 , i think the reason these 65 AMG benzs are virtually no faster than some of the non AMGs is b/c they just have TOO MUCH torque. Honestly, even with AWD and racing tires, 738 ft-lbs is just too much to get a fair amount of traction for acceleration sprints.
But from a rolling start, VERY few cars can keep up with this beast.

@vindicator2008 You're forgetting that much of the weight in Mercedes comes from their arsenal of technology which easily outdoes the average nuclear submarine. It's safer too, with a gazillion airbags, and much more. There's also the fact that this is a *very comfortable* car. Leather, wood, heavy seats that contain heating etc. Not like a Porsche: when you step on the pedal, your passengers can't breathe because of all the power on their chest, literally. (check out 911 turbo S)

nmac121 is exactly right. Each increment on the speedometer is 30km/h whilst on an SL600 it's 20km/h. Thus, an SL65 AMG may give the impression it's slower when it certainly isn't!
40km/h (25mph) - 210km/h (130mph) in 12 seconds! Outrageously fast for 2.1 tonne car.

I think what you guys are actually looking at is the fact that the 65's speedometer goes to 360km. WHen compared to the regular mercedes benz dials it would give the impression of going slower....but in reality its hauling ass.
