  • He keeps hangin' with guys like Shorty and Walter Trout, well, he'll have soul in his chops. I think that's a given! Nice job young man!

  • awesome job!!!!!!!!

  • Hey Tallan, come on back to Wausau. You are the man. Unbelievable.

  • let i said in another vid of him this kid is just freaking amazing omg his music is amazing.tallen keep jamming and dont listen to what the neg things some people say they dont know good music when they hear it.

  • blues in his soul? the blues ate this poor boys soul

  • kid, keep playin, u already surpassed B.B. as my favorite guitarist ever

  • have you ever tried using Guitar Rig 4 from native Instruments?

  • This kid's certainly got it. Look how he takes charge @ around 1:35 after his solo and motions to Shorty it's now his turn!

    Can you say stage presence!!!

Just wait awhile, and when he matures a bit more, and it hits him that the interplay between notes and silence, combined with what he's already got (which is technique and blues understanding) and it'll be all over!!

His belief in himself is staggering!

  • WOW! Amazing Look how far he has gone. It's So Cool to watch him grow up right before our eyes and I am SURE no doubt he will be around for a VERY very long time.God Bless him.T-Mans talent is getting better and better all the time.

I am so happy to see his light shining with a brightest future ahead of him.

I can not wait until there is his first album out cause I am for sure gonna be in that line. The future of Blues is looking up with this young man and his Enthusiasm and Charismas he brings

  • @irishsetterarchie QQ Moar

  • This boy is hongry.

  • Bravo Guitar Shorty and the T-man!!!!

  • Awesome stuff the kid rocks! thats all there is to it.

  • WELL DONE TALLAN!!!!!! :):):):)

  • This kid is amazing!!!!!

  • Taking lessons for years can go on for a lifetime and never make you a great, original, soulful, creative muscian. Being a great technician and covering/copying note for note is fine and all. Creatively playing and feeling it for yourself is another. Tallan obviously feels it, breathes it, lives it, Now let's watch and see if he creates original material of appeal. I'm betting we'll see that from Tallan before the envious naysayers. He's got the guitar skill. He's got blues in his soul.

  • @bladerunnerr57 Well spoken sir!!

  • @thompson197 I´m playing since 3 years and I´m 12, so please check out my channel. He´s good, there´s no doubt, but what a elevation! OK, I haven´t seen any guys like him but I know some guys here on YT, and they are playing like him. He´s one of the few who can play very good for his age. But he´s not alone.

  • @Rampensau99 He may not be alone and that's a good thing......but he may be the last one standing!!!

  • yeah.....but can he expert freebird on gh2? :)

  • I don't care what you "experts" say, a kid at age of 10 is putting the feel into music that i didnt really see before... he's feeling it while most guys have good tehnique but no feel and that's what your going for in the end.

  • Bloody A W E S O M E !!!!!!!!

  • by the age of 20 he'll prolly play so fast he'll light the fretboard on fire

  • MINI JIMI !!!! Check out Layla Zoe for a Janis-like experience!

  • this shows he knows the give and take of a true Blues performance - everyone gets a turn at soloing and everyone backs the soloist of the moment. Very cool!!!

  • Picked it up on his own at age 5. Come on people. Prodigy: a person, especially a child or young person, having extraordinary talent or ability: a musical prodigy. He is definitely that. He looks like he's having such a good time. I wish him a long and happy career.

  • @kwgrid I assume you don't play guitar? That's not extraordinary talent. Even for his age. I'm so baffled by the amount of attention this kid has gotten, it's completely ludicrous. For 5 years playing experience, he should be AT LEAST this good.

  • @thompson197 I agree. I certainly wasn't impressed. Anyone with 5 years of experience should be....I'm not sure how good, but again I agree, at LEAST this good.

  • @solidsnake4147 So what band did you get kicked out of?? Another 5'6" little big man comment. The girls know what I'm saying. Why don't you take your little buddy here and go bullshit each other somewhere else.

  • @irishsetterarchie Angry over the internet, because you saw people posting their own opinions. Which is exactly what comments are fucking for. They don't have to be positive, you don't have to read them, and you don't have to go around bothering people who have better things to do, then read hate mail from angry, pre-pubescent children who can't handle truth on the internet. Grow a pair.

BTW: Acting tough won't get you anywhere, especially on a computer. Might as well buff up now, life is hard.

  • @solidsnake4147 I believe in free speech. Listen up....I am a 62 year old grandmother. I was a mother of three, 2 boys and a daughter. I have out-lived both of my sons and my daughter is disabled with degenerative bone disease. Here's what angers me, some shallow self righeous intellectual using his freedom of speech to critisize a young boys musical accomplishments instead of a kind word of encouragement. Life is hard! How many children has your mother lost? Surely she is ashamed of at least 1.

  • @irishsetterarchie

Guess you got me. Real hard, too. Because I don't hold any regards for peoples lives other then my own. I'm sorry about your children, but that's none of my concern.

Maybe my mother is ashamed, maybe not. Again, it's not important to me, and I have nothing to prove.

And, of course, the kid IS good. Just not as good as he should be. Not as good as 5 years of experience should gift him with.

  • @solidsnake4147 SHALOM

  • @thompson197 I don't see or hear you playing so why should I think you have any credibility as a critic? Let me guess, you're full grown and about 5'6' tall right! LADIES you know what I'm saying here right??!! Thompson...go pick on someone at least your own size.....wait...Tallan is 11 yrs. old now. He may be taller than you!!

  • @irishsetterarchie I don't need you to think I have any credibility as a critic. If you knew anything about guitar then you would have your own credibility as a critic. And by the way, the jokes you made and then repeated in another comment right after, make you look like a really unfunny comedian.

  • @thompson197 I'd rather be an unfunny comedian in your eyes than to be you making negative comments about this little boys talent.

  • @irishsetterarchie Really? I think I'd much rather be someone who isn't overly sensitive towards an 11 year old boy than someone who has no talent for comedy.

  • @thompson197 Really? You must have visited my channel and discovered that I am a female so you are coming back for more yes?? Figures.

  • No offense, but I don't think a 10 year old with 5 YEARS of experience playing like that is a "Prodigy". what I think IS amazing, is a 14 year old with 3 months of practice playing like this. It takes a minor amount of motivation to actually want to play. By age 15-18, he'll be forgotten, by many...his fame is only followed so closely by his age. But he is good for a 10 year old, I gotta say. The longer he keeps practicing, the better he's gonna get. Hope to guitar duel him in a few years lol.

  • @solidsnake4147 Thats right you don't "THINK". The def of a prodigy is this; "An unusually gifted or intelligent (young) person; someone whose talents excite wonder and admiration"

    .

So "think" whatever the hell you want...hes a prodigy.

  • @nfldman1976 Exactly, that's what "I" think. You don't have to like it. It's called MY OPINION for a reason. Don't like it? Don't respond. I have enough shit in my box as it is.

  • @solidsnake4147 suck it up princess

  • @solidsnake4147 I have to agree. He's definitely good but thats 5 years of practice. Prodigy is someone who just is shown the basics and in a very short time can make the guitar cry.

  • @solidsnake4147 THANK YOU.

  • Do what you love and people will love what you do.

  • nothing special for a kid that plays for 5 years.

  • Wow that was an amazing blues jam!

  • This child is amazing, and if anyone can't see that he plays straight from the soul , they aren't listening with the right ears.

  • This child is amazing, and if anyone can't see that he plays straight from the soul , they aren't listening with the right ears honey.

  • This child is amazing, and if anyone can't see that he plays straight from the soul , they aren't listening with the right ears honey. He is magical to watch.

  • That's Charisma!

  • Don't worry about all the haters and what they say T-MAN. You're going to the top little dude!!! Love and peace be with you!!!

Oh, and all the haters out here... they're only high test fuel for the blues we love!!!

  • thegreat thing about negative comments, is that he only will be more determined by his will and spirit to play !! great job kid!!!!!!! (or shall i say you suck ;) )

  • this kid has got some major talent and u are very good ,love the blues to keep playing young man i will listen to u play....

  • ROCK ON LITTLE DUDE!!!

  • That kid got Tallan!

  • Mr. Latz barely even looks at his guitar lol. Looks like a blues Angus Young!!

  • The kid is bless by the gods!

  • 5 people dislike this because a 10 year old is better.

  • I Agree Thats Just Jealousy@Theplague101

  • please kido don't be like Justin blieber when you grow up

  • kids good,,,,5 more years and he will be making serious bank

  • I love how this kid just soaks it in. Not pretentious, not overwhelmed, just loving the scene he's in. Amazing.

  • Good to see someone up and comming to carry on.............Awsom

  • justin beiber should take some talent lessons from him

  • @DcEvoIX he'd probably made justin explode... just saying

  • @jbassman666 lmao u right justin can't be near talented people they show him he's a nobody that's why usher has to dance like him so he doesn't get shown up for the fact he really has no talent at all how did that kid get a record deal I'm gonna call usher and tell him I can sing and dance better than justin can I have a deal lol

  • You are super awesome, little dude! Let all the haters just be fuel for your blues! ^_^

  • I swear to god, when I saw you on youtube I immediatly went to the breber in Elkhorn and got strings for my guitar!

  • look at how much fun he's having. he's 10, and to him this is like playing. not playing an instrument per se, but playing. he's having fun, doing what he loves and it must be hard for him to not jump around screaming all the time because he just happens to be amazing at what he loves to do.

  • i honestly really appreciate your work, ive been playin for three years and still am not good as you keep practicing kid

  • He will mellow with age, just give him time. When he settles, he'll be better then ever.

  • showing off? hell i would be showboating it even at the age of 20 if someone invited me onstage to jam with them. I wonder if this kid would teach me how to play. although blues is pretty easy just 4 chords and some improv solo. Kid. I would love to see you play comfortably numb by Pink Floyd if you could little tman

  • showing off ? pfft. he's having a freakin' ball ! good on him :)

  • is that an alvarez? JORTS FTW!

  • his hands are still too small for the guitar, he needs a junior sized guitar

  • @cbarrett34 Haha looks like he's getting along just fine to me.

  • I don't care if he's showing off or not, How many 10 years olds can play like that? God Bless him for keeping the BLUES alive, you go Tallan!!!!

  • @ymusicfreak1 He's not showing off; he's showcasing his talent! I agree with you!

  • The fame (IMO) is getting to his head, seem to be just a Big show off. He's good, but I do Not like watching a show off guitarist.

  • You won't see Quinn Sullivan sharing a solo like that.

This kid does need to kick the theatrics down a notch though IMO, but he's got skill no doubt.

  • hey people why the f..ck u give so much atention to the roches who talk bad about this bloues kid? those people they were nothing and they will be nothing

  • hey people why the f..ck u give so much atention to the roches who talk bad about this bloues kid?

  • @decaonpossessed stop being a hater bitch

  • No matter what Tallan is, who he is, his reasons for playing guitar, he comes off like a bloodly show-off in this video... not like a musician having fun. It appears that Tallan is missing the point. I could never support that type of "talent". Music is just not about what this dude is putting on here next to the seasoned cat. In a few years, Tallan will look at this video and cringe for how poorly he is coming off here.and @ 123ub... you're crazy "more interesting that 90%" of wuts out there?

  • @DeconPossessed O_o how does he look like he is being a show off? he just looks like he's into what he's doing

  • Comment removed

  • There is something really special 'bout you Tallan. It's not your age. It's not your

talent. It's your love for and of music. I'm a 43yr old Electronica producer. You

really inspire me. You are so much more interesting than 90% of the stuff out

there. Whatever genre. I think you're great Tallan and I will be watching your

progress with great anticipation. No need for you to feel pressured. Just

keep on doing what you're doing. It's superb!

  • I guess it's an unfortunate fact of this type of venue, but I always wish with these video's that the audio quality would be better...

  • this kid performed the very next morning for almost 2 hours of hardcore pumpn blues! few years his balls will drop and he'll have a voice. lol

  • Tallan is indeed a respectful and talented young performer. In my conversations with dad and Tallan it is obvious to me, and to many others, that Tallan loves music, has a passion to be the best and loves to entertain people. I think that would make him a pretty special 10 year old on many levels. I am proud to have Tallan as the featured artist for August 2010 on Youth Arts Forum and wish him only the best in his journey.

  • Just another 10 year old??? I think not. His parents probably push him to do well in school and be respectfull too---The nerve of them----LOL! Tallan has inspired many other kids to put down the video games and pick up a guitar. I should know I'm one of them. I'm in awe of your skills my friend.

    Josh

  • @mybrothersfault Josh, you have improved greatly as well. It's not only refreshing but inspiring to see kids take the path and work to fulfill their passion in music and art. Don't let anyone take that from you. Thank your parents often as well, their support is so very important.

    Take care,

    Barry

  • NIce jamming, Tallan !

    You're like a young SRV !

Keep it up, you're great !

    Stu

  • Sorry, but this kid does not display any talent over and above his age. Playing is terrible compared to many "kid" blues players of similar age. Parents and fans need to stop filling these kids heads with praise and unearned terms like "genius" just because they are cute, young and kids. With years more of practice he may be a great but right now he is just another blues kid pushed by a parent that is a blues fan. I have seen many of these kid players end up real screwed up for life.

    Sorry

  • @wxyz5755 "just another blues kid pushed by a parent that is a blues fan" He is NOT a PRESSURED kid! Tallen picked up the guitar of his OWN choice NOT of his PARENTS choice, his OWN! He plays because its his thing! Its what he loves to do! And he is great at it. Far greater than you give him credit for! He is not legend but that WILL come with the years!

HMMMM! If that is terrible playing than what is even moderately good hmmmm?

Far too many people put hate on this kid!

  • @wxyz5755 People who say shit like you really piss me off!! "just cute and young and kids" He is more than just some kid, if he was just some "cute kid strumming a guitar" would he have endorsement deals played significant gigs and have such the bright musical career ahead of him? No he would not, but he does! This kid's even performed on stage with Joe Bonamossa! He has rightly eared praise. He is not gonna be screwed up for life! He has a future oh so bright!

  • stay in school kid

  • future best guitarest in the world

  • WOW!! A guitar GENIUS at 10 years old?! Amazingly bright future ahead for you, dude

  • Such a natural talent at such a young age. Tallan is the next SRV. Just don't go flying around with stupid drunk pilots wanting to buzz the camper your buddies are staying in, and you will have a long career.

  • amazing kid..

  • Please come play at Jazzfest in South Dakota next year. Its one of the biggest Blues festivals in the country.

  • Jesus God kid. You're going to be great some day seriously, you already are lol

  • Shorty was sounding great Tallan sounded like he was holding back? I was expecting him to really cut loose but he held back.

  • @shartne Sometimes you don't need to go and blow to have a great sound. They both sounded awesome.

  • @shartne ARE YOU KIDDING HE KILLED IT DIDNT YOU WATCH THE WHOLE THING
