Barry Shwartz is not being exactly fair on the whole perspective of choice.

Displaying the tablets as societal structures that are written in stone and of then displaying these tablets as blank, as Barry is assuming these to currently be, is misleading.

Is Barry capable of observing reality. Is Barry a victim of fables and folly. For a society to survive, we do onto others as we would wish for others to do onto us.

... No imaginary construct determined this, as it is a feature of naturalism. For a sentient species to survive, we have evolved a form of social altruism.

Discussing the concept of freedom within the constructs of capitalism and consumerism is like placing a square peg into a round hole.

My guess is that such an ambiguous method of dialogue may sell lots of books.
