due to the pressure difference in the coastal waters, it would have lived shorter than when they kept it in the specially pressured tank.

The shark was bound to die already, unfortunatly.

And I believe it actually died more pleasantly in the tank that resembled his home than in the coastal water where the pressure would have killed him.
