hi i owned a b2 about 18 years ago and found it to be a great gun i had the .22 version and wish i still had it. the smk range are good i also untill very recently had the CO2 rifle XS78 also a very good rifle but not suited to the cold wearther in wales i currently have the DB4 underlever in .22 and have found that to be well capable at hunting small game ect.
hi i have the b2 smk .22 air rifle and use it for pigeon roosting, rabbit hunting, and just target shooting and it does the job just fine but i use zinc pellets.
i would like to back up the comments from brum. my first rifle was a smk xs38, my first time out in field was 5 bunnys 4 squirrel, i then got a hw97k a very fussy pellet gun, were as the smk had no prob with any pellet. i now shoot bsa r10 very nice rifle, but hasnt got the edge of a springer. so any one reading these comments smk rifle are very good for the price and if you enjoy shooting then its for your decision to upgrade, ALL GUNS ARE ACCURATE, ITS THE SHOOTER WHO ISNT !?? cheers
can you really kill rabbits at 60 yards or when you say game do you mean pigeons and that range finder on your scope how does it work cause i just got a scope with a range finder and i have no clue how to work it and its second hand that i got from my brother the bastard making me buy it for 50 quid so no instructions
good vid mate do you take out rabbits at sixty yards or when you say game do you mean pigeons also the range finder or what ever you call it cause i have one on my scope and i have no clue how it works also the lightening is a great gun i had one for three years before i traded it up for a brocock enigma pcp and finally i applaud your reply to xboxking bravo bravo
The B2 is great for vermin control or younger shooters to train with. I have sold hundreds of them and rarely have a problem. If you want a top rifle then SMK's XS19 for just £109 that I sell it for is even better than the BSA Lightning on this video. Its half a pound more powerful, has way less recoil and is easier to cock.
SMK (or Cybergun UK as they will soon be known) are the only company to buy from if you don't want to be stung and want a great rifle.
@gutworm45 so a top quality german airgun like a weihrauch or diana are no comparison to a cheaply made chinese airgun? what about bsa, airarms and theoben? these would put any smk to shame! you say the smk 18/19 is half a footpound more powerfull than the bsa? even if it was that dosent matter as power isnt everything, if you cant hit a 5p piece at 30yard you have no reason to be hunting live animals! you dont know what your on about so stop trying to sell your shit to less experieced people!!
@MrHw77k LMAO your so funny. I also sell BSA, Weihrauch, FX Airguns, Crosman, Gamo, Sheridan, Cometa and Falcon. And from personal experience and from many customer feedbacks I know that some of the better SMK springers like the XS19, XS20, SYNSG and the TH208 range are just as good as any of the springers from the brands named above. And please learn how to spell and what the guns are actually called before trying to insult me. But as far as I'm aware accuracy & power are what people look for
@gutworm45 so a smk 19 would match a hw97k on smoothness, accuracy, consistancy, and build quality? I think not mate, you may get good feedback but that just means that those customers have never shot a decent spring rifle. Another thing, Crossman and Gamo are nearly as bad as smks!! Your first comment also states that a smk 19 is better than a bsa lightning!! have you ever shot a smk and then a bsa lightning? PEOPLE READING THIS COMMENT... DONT USE A SMK B2 TO HUNT IT IS NOT CAPABLE! HONESTLY!
@MrHw77k ok lets look at it this way, Im selling my guns in Birmingham, a deprived part of Britain, infact I am the last airgun specialist left in Brum, so I am doing something right, have been in buisness over 10 years now. So during this economic crisis what would you buy? a £400 plus HW97 or a £109 SMK thats THE SAME POWER AND WILL KILL THE SAME. I'll leave it to the customer to decide - I offer both guns so either way I win :D
@gutworm45 ok thats a fair point, but who would pay £400 for a hw97k? You can pick them up for £303 OR £290 at the sportsman guncenter dependant on what model you get... Yes the smk will kill vermin but the potential for those long range shots are not there... and if you inexperienced than getting closer is not an option, on the other hand if your not experienced you will not be able to take those longer shots. Thats why i think they are no match for a quality precision made airgun...
@MrHw77k Sportsman Gun center are not so cheap...I do the HW100 for £699, they do it at £742. And the HW97 they sell for £293 is the laminated stock version, not the deluxe thumbhole stock I was refering to. And back to BSA v SMK (I believe Airgun Shooter) rated the BSA Polaris against the SMK XS38 cistom and they both came out even after every issue was rated such as power, handling, quality, looks etc. Polaris retails £280 and XS38 £150..you can get both cheaper. I do XS38 custom for £109.
@MrHw77k Basically most airguns on the market these days are either good value for the money or just damn good guns anyway. It comes down to what the customer is willing to spend. SMK are now dominating the UK as the largest stockist of airguns and its said you will find it difficult to find an airgun shop that doesn't sell them. SMK have filled a gap in the market...good quality guns for budget prices. I will always defed them, I owe my business and countless happy customers to them.
yo to everyone on about shooting being sick and shitt if a pellet hits a animal in the correct place its dead as its hit no pain just gone they kick about due to their nerval systems shutting off not coz their in pain anyone who says shooting bunnies is sick just think about all our goods make up deodarant anti persprants and air freshners foods and keeping them as pets coz those animals suffer from that not from being shot correctly
@46FreddieMercury91 not really as its still an end to life as long as people don't shoot badgers and eat what they shoot its ok if you do it for sport it makes you an asshole killing shouldnt be fun.
good vid man ive just bought a b2 .22 and a really cheap scope thats no good can you recomend a decent scope in the price range of about 40 - 50 quid ? cheers man will.
get a modern skk with over a 5 pp spring nd if your papa gives u a lil more money get a spring like mine a 19 odd spring and thenn youl be able to kill a rabbit 120 odd yards away like i did 3 days ago
This is inapropriate any one who wants to buy an smk is put of from this shite vid a meen look at ya man u cant even afford a haircut u have 2 shite condittion guns for god sake i look after my guns unlike some any onw out there who is interested in any new smk i would recomend getting it they are reliable and you can put any size spring in the gun with no ajustments a meen my smk 19 18 is well looked after it was £190 and currently has a 19 pound pressure spring installed
@xbox360king19 xboxking huh, your name seems to suggest that you have a great knowlege of real life firearms as opposed to pixilated ones, oh no wait, your boasting about an smk 19 a gun with an innate faulty saftey mechanisum, i use the BSA to take game up to 60 yards away, not piss about in my garden and my bedroom playing soldier games. now kindly fuck off.
love this video, I'm interested in starting shooting, where would i be able to buy the SMK as i am not looking to spend extortionate amounts of money?
@anumperlumpa a .22 cal is a bit bigger and depending on the pellet can cause alot more damage, but a .177 is a bit smaller and is usually a bit quicker but doesn't really do the same amout of damage as a .22
you cant compare the b2 to the bsa ligntning as a representation of smk because the smk xs20 is one of the best springers out there but any way good videos mate keep up the good work
I got the SMK for christmas, lovely acurate rifle. Im now buying all the decent acceseries for it (Bipod, Scope with lasser, Torch and pellet pouch) my new pride and joy :) nice video btw
I got my BSA today and I was thinking of getting an smk but for just 15 pounds more you could get a BSA super sport which I am told is bloody powerful and a allround great gun
what have you got for a sling round your BSA? looks like a simple strap. you say your mate has shot rabbits with the B2,yet a lot of folk dont recommend using one for hunting.just goes to show what the B2 is capable of.ever thought of re-varnishing the stock?
people talk bollocks when they keep trying to criticise the B2. ffs its only £30. of course its not going to be like a daystate or weihrauch.at that price it isn't even an investment.its a bit of fun and it serves that purpose well !
you're probably right. my eyes popped out of my sockets when i saw this for £40. its tempting ,cheap and cheerful. maybe i'll have it as a second gun? routine maintenance will help prolong its life.then again whats £40? not even a night out! thanks for the advice
@moleman1961 thanks for the advise butits a little late lol iv since baught the b2 and its ok bu its not up to scratch for gurenteed rabbit stew, im havin to chace far too many brain damaged rabbits around a field after failing to kill them haha. Im going t reach further into my pocket and get better rifel before my treck
Nice vid! I think most accuracy issues is with cheap, mis-shaped pellets not always the gun! Because its a cheap gun people assume that its not accurate. I, like you, have both these guns and both are accuraete! I hit what I aim for with both weapons! (most of the time anyway!).
@farookbulsasra It would be ok for pigeon. Not too far away though! Its a great little gun but it lacks quality and may break down with prolonged use. I would try and pay a bit more and get a gun with a bit better build quality. Hope this helps!
Great review mate, im seriously considering getting into range shooting, and I was unsure whether to save up for the BSA lighting and jump straight in with that, or buying a cheaper SMK b2 while i save up for the BSA.
I can definately say i'll buy the SMK b2 this week and take it for a test at my local range, Thanks!
I'm looking at getting an SMK SYNXS soon as my first rifle but I am slightly put off by what I've hear on some forums (ie. breaking easily, having far less power than it says on the box etc) but it got a good review from Nigel Alan so I'm not sure if I should go for it.
hello mate! im currently preparing to bum it in the highlands of scotland for a few weeks, im good with bushcraft and survival skills but not a massive gun nut, would the Smk be powerful enough to kill rabits? im tired of using home made spears, as rewarding as it is its too much effort
Nice vid mate enjoyed watching but i was wondering where do u go hunting? Is it on your local farm or something or did you not bother with permission? Cheers pal connor
ignore the odd arsehole like aidanhorridge - nice video and nice shooting , I wish I had a permission like that to shoot on , I can vouch for the accuracy of the BSA Lightning - I shoot a parker hale striker in .177 - its basically the lightning only packaged as a parker hale rifle by BSA for the american market - again , nice video mate - you have a new subscriber :-)
Fair play on a good review of the SMK B2. As you say, they're not the best finished gun and they do feel a bit agricultural out of the box but there is no denying the accuracy in your vid.
All of the SMK range, once fettled, will hold their own against guns costing a damn sight more! Ignore the gun snobs.
smk are waste of time mate but lightnings are brill i have had same as you but tuned by v-mach and a beech xl and a tac xl gas-rammed the best out of the three is lightning mk2 i also reworked the silencer to dampen more muzzel noise
i was using .177 eley wasps, a very under rated pellet, the B2 likes them alot, my mate has taken about 5 rabbits with that rifle, hes very good with it.
@siberianfury can you really drop rabbits and pigeons with a B2 ? i guess it all depends on the accuracy. i bought one last week for £30 in .177, there's something very attractive in its crudeness. i did have one in .22 which i gave to my mate. they are easy to strip down,i may put a titan xs spring in mine
Good review. BSA's (proper Brummie ones) are excellent rifles. B2's are hit and miss. One thing though, KEEP HOLD OF THE BARREL WHEN YOU'RE COCKING THEM!!!!!!
@aidanhorridge Bud you seem to know even less. The BSA lighting is a bang on break barrel for the money. The SMK well good for the money not a rifle I would advise getting. Btw only thing missing from the lighting that you will find on a Theoben or HW80 is a breach adjustment screw/lock. Other than that the Lighting will see its owner good for mny years.
@aidanhorridge keep your bad comments to your self belle-nd, id like to see how much you really no coc-k shiner, btw josh, im a siberianfury fan and have watched all your video, i hate when sh1t heads like aidenhorridge comment shit like that
My smk b2 couldn't hit a barn door at point blank range it's possibly the worse air rifle i have ever used, defiantly pot luck if you get an accurate one! Mine must have been made on a friday lol
Shit quality camera, good video, waste of coke :(

Great review mate, im seriously considering getting into range shooting, and I was unsure whether to save up for the BSA lighting and jump straight in with that, or buying a cheaper SMK b2 while i save up for the BSA.
I can definately say i'll buy the SMK b2 this week and take it for a test at my local range, Thanks!

awesome review!

@sambabway It will but get as close as you can!

Nice vid mate enjoyed watching but i was wondering where do u go hunting? Is it on your local farm or something or did you not bother with permission? Cheers pal connor

my smk is nothing like the one you have mine came with an atatched silonser scope and the same finish as the lighting...grate video btw

ignore the odd arsehole like aidanhorridge - nice video and nice shooting , I wish I had a permission like that to shoot on , I can vouch for the accuracy of the BSA Lightning - I shoot a parker hale striker in .177 - its basically the lightning only packaged as a parker hale rifle by BSA for the american market - again , nice video mate - you have a new subscriber :-)

Thanks, excellent review. Good comparison between a Quality rifle and one that
is inexpensive but solid. They do improve after a tune. Thanks again!

@slyjosh13
hi mate,
i was using .177 eley wasps, a very under rated pellet, the B2 likes them alot, my mate has taken about 5 rabbits with that rifle, hes very good with it.

@siberianfury how much did you pay for the bsa?
blowgunking1994 1 year ago
@siberianfury can you really drop rabbits and pigeons with a B2 ? i guess it all depends on the accuracy. i bought one last week for £30 in .177, there's something very attractive in its crudeness. i did have one in .22 which i gave to my mate. they are easy to strip down,i may put a titan xs spring in mine

Good review. BSA's (proper Brummie ones) are excellent rifles. B2's are hit and miss. One thing though, KEEP HOLD OF THE BARREL WHEN YOU'RE COCKING THEM!!!!!!

@aidanhorridge
i dont realy give a shit about your opinion, make your own video and set it as a responce if you expect to be taken seriously.
siberianfury 1 year ago
@siberianfury so whats the velocity on your smk? also very nice bsa
blowgunking1994 1 year ago
@aidanhorridge Bud you seem to know even less. The BSA lighting is a bang on break barrel for the money. The SMK well good for the money not a rifle I would advise getting. Btw only thing missing from the lighting that you will find on a Theoben or HW80 is a breach adjustment screw/lock. Other than that the Lighting will see its owner good for mny years.

My smk b2 couldn't hit a barn door at point blank range it's possibly the worse air rifle i have ever used, defiantly pot luck if you get an accurate one! Mine must have been made on a friday lol
