I bawled my eyes out... blessings to the boggards and the wonderful ppl involvd in this. I'm from a military family and my grandpa sank u-boats and my other met my grandmother on the Queen Mary when she was the Grey Ghost.. If it wasn't 4 the Queen Mary, I wouldn't have been born... curse or blessing that I was born; I'm not sure..
An excellent version of the song. And certainly not too fast at all. As a Celt, I usually object to our songs being appropriated, however I approve of this; very nice.
@theRekcabofD : it is a small island belonging to the outer Hebridies at the west coast of Scotland. It's especially famous for it heavy storms and weather and tricky for the sailors.
This is an updated version of the song and lyrically it is fantastic, the singers are fabulous but the tempo is way too fast.. The song is meant to sway like a tide. I would love to hear the slower version by you guys. PS it aint a Boggards song!
My being prior service and having may friends and family still in. some of which unfortunately are not coming home, i would just like to say this was beautifully done. Very well done for that matter. And using the boggards song Mingulay made it that much better. Thank you.
Very moving. I know this song well and have sung it often. I can not think of a better video to set it to. God watch over our soldiers and sailors so them may all come home.
Thank your son in law for his sacrifice. And you and your daughter for yours. Because of him and his brother's and sister's sacrifices as well as the sacrifices of their loved ones, my children and grandchildren will sleep safely and in peace tonight.

@tehbunnei This is as authentic a sea shanty as Barret's Privateers. It was written by Hugh Robertson long after Mingulay was abandoned....
