@saminiky, I have a 14.2 cob that showjumps 1.20 and up, and does very well, he always gets placed. It is nothing to do with the breed, some horses are better at certain disciplines than others. My cob hunter trials, showjumps, hacks out, does everything I could want in a pony and more. Unless you have jumped a cob, you cant say they aren't excellent jumpers, as I know plenty that are!
I have a heavy cob too and he too can jump really well, we go drag hunting, show jumping, to hunter trials, he can do everything 'posher ponies' can do :) you can have so much fun with cobs, and your video shows that you can also get very talented cobs too :)
Are you sure its 1.20m? Looks a little smaller lol.
Nice cob though =]
I have a stocky stationbred going grand prix next month, he's kind of cob like and he handles most of the courses better than the pure breds and small thoroughbred ponies
i had a Sec D mare cob who was also called queenie :L- she was a bloody amazing jumper! i dont see why u cldnt BSJA or BE with ur ponie, - theyre a bold XC!
Well if you used something called your EYES (they are on your face) and LOOKED with them, then maybe you can see that this cob is jumping. Do you need me to spell it out for you? Just because a horse isn't a full up 16.2hh hot blooded thing with a ridiculosly expensive saddle on, doesn't mean it can't jump.
@xDynamiteDiggyx I don't know what you are getting all agitated about, but there's a big difference between getting over a jump and jumping with technique. and btw: this isn't 1.20, more 60cm. But the title is probably a joke cause cob's can't jump that high
@saminiky I'm sorry but what gives you the right to comment saying something like that anyway? Its haters like you that can make youtube a very unpleasant place.
By saying you think this jump is 60cm, just shows you obviously have very little knowledge of show jumping at all. Lol.
@xDynamiteDiggyx i'm not hating on annything, cobs are wonderfull horses, but they don't have a good jumping technique. ofcourse, they get over a jump, any horse can. But they are not jumping-horses. And saying something like 'you obviously have very little knowledge of show jumping at all' is freaking hilarious, cause if you think that is 1.20, you are the one who 'has a very litlle knowledge of show jumping'.
@saminiky I believe I never said it was 1.20m, jokes on you.. Believe me, I compete at 1.20+ so I think I know what it looks like thank you very much. Its funny how you believe its only 60cm, ahaha. I know they don't have a polished jumping technique, and I never said they were used in any kind of higher level showjumping.. A horse is jumping a fence, I dont understand why you are getting so negative about it!
@saminiky it's not the type of horse of which can't jump, it's the actual horse!
'cobs can't jump that high' -LOL!
so how come they make fab allrounders? oh yeah because there pretty good at everything, why do they make good hunter? hmm because of there good stamina and ability to jump well when out..
do you own a cob? if you did you'd know what you just said was wrong because you're singling out certain horses not all cobs will jump no. but some are extremely good jumpers!
@elishaandsmokey I can tell you're agitated but sorry, cob's aren't 'extremely' good jumpers. If you say extremely good jumper to me, I image a show jumping horse that does a course of 1.20 and up. Yes, they make nice allrounders but at the level of beginners. Cob's can't do an international eventing. But they're very nice to ride, cause they keep there calm and can be trusted.
@JessGem124 Honestly?... I don't care what you think cause you don't know who I am or what I know about showjumping. I saw on your profile you own a cob, I understand you feel 'attacked' when I say cob's can't jump that high. They can jump, but they'll never be showjumping horses. But you can use them in various other disciplines.
@saminiky - Yeah? I dont feel 'attacked' no they will never be a cob in the olyimpics, but, they can jump pretty big, my cousions welsh cob jumped 4ft2 at chase me charlie, i understand where you are coming from but, its not fair saying they arn't good jumpers because they are ;)
@xDynamiteDiggyx i totally agree, i had a 14hh massive cob called paddy (look at some of my ood vids) and he could jump ~AMAZING would jump anything i put him at, even did a 3foot6 course on him when he was totally unfit, so whoever thinks that cobs cant jump are idiots :)
well personally i think you can, i jump bsja so im pretty sure that's not 1m20 but whatever if you wana say it is cool i really dont care.. but i think i might have a video of me jumping 1m20 then you can compare the heights
i am calm and no its pathetic arguing over a stupid wee video. i do have pics of her jumping it. look i'm just saying i don't think you can tell the height from a video.
hahaa babeeee im just saying its CLEARLYYY NOTTTT 1m20 and the fact your being so deffensive about it maybe has somethinh 2 do with it..... you should see a 1m20 fence doll
i think you'll find i have. this video was tken fom the back of a 16.1hh horse pointing down. you can't tell whether it 1m20 or not. why couldn't you keep that to yourself? and ou ain't seen defensive yet.
reali cute! I love it when big cobs suprise u... i was expecting everyone to lyk go well done or clap or sumit cause ther wer so many but everyone was dead silent! made me laugh anyways..
lol . . .thats realy cool i have to wait till tuesday and the thing that sucked was that christmas was on tuesday and i missed my lesson and new years was on tuesday and i missed my lesson then too lol but any ways i realy like your horse plzs msg me if you put up more videos. . . thxs alot . . :D
