anything can be made fast if you build it right. for crying out load taner frost has a focus that 700-800 horse power, and 550-600 ft pounds of tq. but it took a couple 100,000 to build...

I had a Ford Contour, it was alright, but it didn't last. I had a 90 Honda Accord, beat the piss out of it and it kept running. Civics are built fuckin tough, not the best cars, but they sure as hell last. I love my Pontiac, but I'm a Honda guy at heart. You don't get it then thats you. I like American cars except Chevy. Big difference between a tC and RSX-S. A tC isn't even a sports car already compared to the RSX already is and with a K20. A K20 we already know is already faster stock than a tC 2 AZ-FE. TC'S are pretty nice. But they are 2.4 blocks compared to a 2.0 RSX motor so naturally they have more torque by design and class...However the K20a2 is a better motor from many other perspectives. Mainly Cam Phasing(iVtec)

Would you guys consider, the Rsx is a Type-s which has vtec, pushin about 200 hp. same as a new SI civic. both of which are out of the tc's league, which only pushes about 160 hp. and let's face it intake and exhaust doesn't do much, so they are pretty much stock for stock.
Well, dont forget torque, which is more important for daily driving for sure, and to me, overall better. It has like 30 more torqe almost, which may not make it faster, but more enjoyable without hitting redline....so, dont get me wrong, I like Si's and RSX's, but dont be a fanboy and hate on tCs. The tC is a DIFFERENT car, not a WORSE car.
Oh don't get me wrong, I love my tC, I probably wasn't fully clear, but my point was the more or less the same as your point.(About the tC being different.) I guess i didn't say it the right way. lol I try to prove my point without pissing anyone off.

Its NOT as sports car, but, its not marketed as one, its a sporty car, not a sports car. A Civic Si is not a sports car either, its a FWD econocoupe with a new engine and some suspsnsion tweaks. True sports cars are on RWD based platforms, even if they have AWD. You bought the wrong cart, I guess you got to wait for the FT-86.

@1990prodigy Quite Si's are nice whips, much quicker than a tC. I want to get a Mustang GT or a Camaro next, something faster faster than a Si, and rwd. Si's a good choice, but for me, I am 6'4+, and the tC fits me better than a Civic Sedan, let alone coupe.

And yes, Hondas are great, I have seen many a good Hondas go around in my family, we still have a 94 accord with over 300,000 miles on our driveway, it has a 2.2L 4 cylinder, no mods, and I beat my friends Suzuki SX4, both were manual, and his has CAI and exhaust, funny shit, considering how old and worn out that Accord is. Hondas do have a certain magic to them..

Thats the crazy thing. I beat 2 s/c tc's with my bolt on tc by 2 cars. They have better top end but off the line its terrible. As far as a rsx-s i've raced some with bolt ons. The only ones that beat me had megan race headers and k-pro flash and they were stupid fast. the others with shorty headers intakes exhaust ect had to play catch up off the line and by 3rd gear was pulling back up but couldnt close by the end of the track. I had a stock one do better than a few modded ones

well lets see a scion tc is mainly a gay car for the fact that most females drive it . it doesnt come with anything special such a certain type than runns fater than regular . where as the rsx comes regular v-tec and v-tec type S . and the over all car concept is pretty wack

Well think about it, Acura is a premium brand from the parent company, honda. scion is a cheap car company, targeting gen Y from the parent company toyota. the celicas had what was comparable to vtec, but they dont use that in scions. compare apples to apples bro.

Would you guys consider, the Rsx is a Type-s which has vtec, pushin about 200 hp. same as a new SI civic. both of which are out of the tc's league, which only pushes about 160 hp. and let's face it intake and exhaust doesn't do much, so they are pretty much stock for stock.

Well, dont forget torque, which is more important for daily driving for sure, and to me, overall better. It has like 30 more torqe almost, which may not make it faster, but more enjoyable without hitting redline....so, dont get me wrong, I like Si's and RSX's, but dont be a fanboy and hate on tCs. The tC is a DIFFERENT car, not a WORSE car.

@Flintc08 Its not a Camry, its got a camry engine, with shorter gears for faster acceleration, and its lighter, so its faster. Whats your "badass car", for DAILY drving, aka, below 4,000 rpm, a tC will just feel faster. And tC is cheaper. So, with extra cash you can do a little bit of mods.

Its NOT as sports car, but, its not marketed as one, its a sporty car, not a sports car. A Civic Si is not a sports car either, its a FWD econocoupe with a new engine and some suspsnsion tweaks. True sports cars are on RWD based platforms, even if they have AWD. You bought the wrong cart, I guess you got to wait for the FT-86.

Yea, I don't really want to race the shit out of my scion tc or anything, my next car will be something more performance oriented...but this is a great first car for me. I can keep it for a while with no issues most likely.

@1990prodigy Quite Si's are nice whips, much quicker than a tC. I want to get a Mustang GT or a Camaro next, something faster faster than a Si, and rwd. Si's a good choice, but for me, I am 6'4+, and the tC fits me better than a Civic Sedan, let alone coupe.

@ppackingnegro Lookwise I like the tC a lot better.....there are so many Civics where I live, not as many tC's. And if I was a fanboy I am fairly sure I would of bashed the Si...but no. For tuning the k20 is better, but for me the tC is a better car, i fit better in it since I am 6'4 thats pretty important....

And yes, Hondas are great, I have seen many a good Hondas go around in my family, we still have a 94 accord with over 300,000 miles on our driveway, it has a 2.2L 4 cylinder, no mods, and I beat my friends Suzuki SX4, both were manual, and his has CAI and exhaust, funny shit, considering how old and worn out that Accord is. Hondas do have a certain magic to them..

Thats the crazy thing. I beat 2 s/c tc's with my bolt on tc by 2 cars. They have better top end but off the line its terrible. As far as a rsx-s i've raced some with bolt ons. The only ones that beat me had megan race headers and k-pro flash and they were stupid fast. the others with shorty headers intakes exhaust ect had to play catch up off the line and by 3rd gear was pulling back up but couldnt close by the end of the track. I had a stock one do better than a few modded ones

agreed they are slow cars, however they havent been out on the market long enough for great performance parts... The size of the vehicle is pretty small... i say give them some more time...

have to put alot into a tC? are you stupid or what? 5K (total 22K) for a turbo in a tC 10psi tune and youre pushing 300+whp. and how much was a type-s back in the day? more than 23K for sure so im sure a tC for a cheaper cost will beat a type-s. yeah be like the other haters and say "put that 5K in a RSX-S" well im talking about equal cost, so basically put another 5K in the tC if you want to put 5K in the RSX-S and the tC is on top. tC can push power in the 400whp range stock motor no problems.

idk thats my one thing i want to do, build a Integra, as well as turbo my tC, thoungh im limited since i ended up with an auto, cuz i needed a car right there and then for school since my dad was shipping out to iraq. so build my auto tC to 350whp is my goal, Integra, then same with the AWD. personally a GTR 35, but i'll settle with the 09 STI.. then my "dream" to convert a tC to RWD with a 2JZ, but thats just a dream...

u sure about that? or maybe thats how the older rsx's are. a type s should get about 202 hp or so. i have a civic SI and i get 197 hp, virtually the same engine... oh and your right scions are not fast.. i love messing with them in my civic si cuz ill race them and shift at about 6krpm (8300 redline) and theyre like "i almost had you". lol if only they knew.
