I lived there for 6 years before moving to Dublin and then Edinburgh 6 years ago. I love going back to Glasgow and its defo a great city. Its a big city with loads of great buildings and can't wait for the waterfront regeneration to finish. Only bad bits: fairly rainy in winter months (summer months are fine), a minority of bigots (orange and ira) and the M8 which cuts a big hole in the city centre! Why don't they cover it over and build on top of it, i.e. in front of Mitchell library.

i think glasgow is a stunning city.. the old architecture is amazing and the contrast between it and modern buildings is perfect; this is definately the city to watch in the run up to the commonwealth games :)
I had the pleasure to visit Scotland for a month back in 2005 and based myself out of Glasgow. I loved it! It was my favorite city/town to see while I was there. I stayed in the West End near Byers Road. I was so easy to get around and everyone was very friendly. I took bagpipe lessons from the College of Piping on Otago St, visited the University of Glasgow and walked the shops around Buchanan St. The Cathedral of St. Mungo was incredible as well. I can't wait to take my family there soon!

@wWDaNaeWw Okay, that's a lot for 500 characters but let's go... People are a mixed bag but you'll meet loads of friendly people at Uni. Lots of entertainment. Epci cinema, lots of concerts with big bands playing at SECC and small bands at Barrowlands, Glasgow ABC and such. Shopping is standard, same as most cities but all the shops are near each other which is good and the weather... is Scottish (it's really rainy, windy and cold). Hope that helps xxx

married a Glasgow lass from Bridgeton-James Street 50yrs back,been divorced 25 yrs,her family moved to my home town Scunthorpe,must be 35yrs since i was there,but i have great memories of it.She actually lived in a tenement three stories up on the corner of James St and Glasgow Green,often wander if its still there,and back in those days driving was a bit dodgy,with cobbles and trams to contend with,and later trolley buses,and the footie on new years day,all flooding back.HAPPY MEMORIES

@rfc1able Highest murder rate in UK but not America. America is extremily high, even their capital has a murder rate of 60per100,1000, Glasgow is about 5, so Washington has 12X the murder rate. Still Glasgow is double the rate of London.

went to glasgow for the first time in august to see the newcastle game at rangers. we all went out for the night in glasgow and it was great. great amosphere nice people, and friendly. not like i thought it would be. i would go back for sure

I lived there for 6 years before moving to Dublin and then Edinburgh 6 years ago. I love going back to Glasgow and its defo a great city. Its a big city with loads of great buildings and can't wait for the waterfront regeneration to finish. Only bad bits: fairly rainy in winter months (summer months are fine), a minority of bigots (orange and ira) and the M8 which cuts a big hole in the city centre! Why don't they cover it over and build on top of it, i.e. in front of Mitchell library.

@ajbudz Well, a recent study on accents found that Irish, Scottish and Northern English accents are identified as more masculine by women and they find them more attractive. Unfortunately souther English accents are seen as fairly feminine by women so if you are from southern England then I'm afraid you may well have the gay accent. As for Scottish being gay bastards? yeah there are a few but they are ours so hands of you shirt lifter!

Edinburgh is a way nicer but there's nothing to do, no shop to do! BORING!
Glasgow is uglier than Edinburgh but there's loads to do and it's a good place to shop! and I'm not even talking about Xscape with its Skiing facilities all year round

i think glasgow is a stunning city.. the old architecture is amazing and the contrast between it and modern buildings is perfect; this is definately the city to watch in the run up to the commonwealth games :)

I had the pleasure to visit Scotland for a month back in 2005 and based myself out of Glasgow. I loved it! It was my favorite city/town to see while I was there. I stayed in the West End near Byers Road. I was so easy to get around and everyone was very friendly. I took bagpipe lessons from the College of Piping on Otago St, visited the University of Glasgow and walked the shops around Buchanan St. The Cathedral of St. Mungo was incredible as well. I can't wait to take my family there soon!

I stayed in Glasgow while studying at the University of Strathclyde. BEST CITY ever. The proximity of the campus to the City Center is great and I LOVE the Borders Bookstore in Buchanan Street. I'm looking forward to be back there soon! Thank you for the video; it soothes my longing a little :)

@wWDaNaeWw Okay, that's a lot for 500 characters but let's go... People are a mixed bag but you'll meet loads of friendly people at Uni. Lots of entertainment. Epci cinema, lots of concerts with big bands playing at SECC and small bands at Barrowlands, Glasgow ABC and such. Shopping is standard, same as most cities but all the shops are near each other which is good and the weather... is Scottish (it's really rainy, windy and cold). Hope that helps xxx
