i own at least 40 van records and this is probably my favorite song of his. it is so honest, real, and beautiful. brings tears to my eyes everytime. it is applicable to every phase of your life. whenever i need to leave myself behind for awhile i dont turn to drugs (although maybe a glass of good bourbon) i put van on the record player and my soul literally soars.

Their used to be a live version of this on You Tube that was simply, one of the greatest musical performances ever recorded. It was an amateur recording, and was simply 'pure magic'.

I tried to make a video that suited the song, and held treasured memories for me too.. at the time it seemed appropriate.. but it could be made different. There is always someone who doesnt like a video.. I saw Van end a concert with this song a few years back - it was UNBELIEVABLE - I had goose bumps and tears in my eyes - it went on and on and I didn't want it to end.... a great song - one of so many - I've been in love with Van for a very long time..there is no one like him or even close - so talented and soulful - can't go a day without Van
