@80smetalchild hmmmm.....windows is decent but the production quality is shit in that album, maybe today i would pick the break of autumn(incredible song) opeth now i certainly would have picked the leper affinity but i still really like the funeral portrait. COB i would probably pick lake bodom actually. As for Arch Enemy i would have actually picked I am Legend(out for blood).

@Ruberioo wow dude. I like and respect those bands but you can't say what "true metal" is. Those are the bands that started it all. But music changes. It doesn't mean that it's not "true". If anything the level of musicianship in metal bands today is way higher than it was back when those bands were the biggest. But that's because people realized that you could use more than just chords and pentatonic minor solos, to make heavy music, and it just kind of expanded from there.

Ok, in all seriousness, I HATED DEATH! I hated them to death. I was a huge Opeth fan. Listen to the entire Symbolic album. Death deserves a chance. They have a flawless catalog, and Symbolic is the greatest metal album ever released. Listen to "Perennial Quest" or "Symbolic", or "Sacred Serenity". Also, look up "Voice of the Soul". If Death isn't on your list, your list is seriously missing out.
