Well I play Swat so I prefer the BR for Halo 3 and the DMR for Reach but i really don't think one is better than the other. Though for all people who disagree with me that's your opinion but if you actually try Swat, and are not terrible as many are, then even in regular matches the BR and DMR go unmatched, just because you become so "skilled" with those weapons.

Besides, the amount of bullets only changes a little factor, the DMR is better because it is more powerful, it delivers the same power of a BR does in 5 bullets, where it takes the BR 12 bullets

@ClanTheNuke not true. because the ammount of time it takes for a BR to shoot its 3 bullets is about the ammount of time it takes a DMR to shoot a single one. they do equal damage and kill in equal ammounts of time if all shots connect... plus you get less ammo in the DMR anyway so it doesnt really matter that it takes more for the BR

Those are the only two possible options. If you cannot even use an AR correctly in combat, no matter how proficient you are with any precision weapon, you must be spamming the trigger. I can easily fire the AR in short busts and get kills in medium range. It's so easy to kill with every weapon in the game if used correctly.

people who think you should NEVER use an AR are total noobs. every gun in this game has a use AND a counter to another weapon or vehicle or whatever. If used properly, the AR can easily get you multiple kills up close with its shield-draining abilities when followed by punches or other killing abilities. The more weapons you can master and learn tactics for, the better gamer you are. simple as that.

Yoi have to unload like 3/4 of an AR clip into someone before you die though. Even if you're within range and you can hit you opponent, they will most likely hit you too and you're both dead

The AR is more accurate than the BR (pinpoint, nearly) when fired in small bursts. As irrelevant as it may seem, an AR can pick people off from across the map, it just takes longer. (Bungie made it this way for the AI in Campaign, as far as I know) I use both, finding each more useful than the other.
