  • That's some good music.

  • @xenaphile815 yes it is! I haven't heard anything yet by Ry Cooder that I don't like. He is one of the very few artists I can say that about. Thank you for taking the time to comment and also for listening. I appreciate your input! Many of my videos have 0 comments so I am sincere when I say "Thank You". My very best to you, Moppet (Barbara)

  • Fantastic!

  • @Artisticer Thank you! I think so too, although I've gotten comments on the smoothness. I think it's a great piece and he's an unbelievably talented artist. He is my "living" slide blues favorite and has been! I think he's unsurpassed as a living slide player, but that' is my opinion. I don't want to start a word war with anyone. This site is about music...not arguments. Thank you for your comment. I appreciate them as they are few and far between. My best to you, Moppet (Barbara)

  • @MyMoppet52 It could be Ry trying to mimic blind willy exactly.. which would include the noise scratch and dirt... sounds like it's a live version too!

  • @muntigu Thank you for adding your comments & info! Yes, it sounds live to me also. I hadn't thought of him trying to come up with the exact original sound, but that could be something he would do! This sounds like vintage Ry to me & I love it! Someone just commented it sounds like their 70's vinyl version. I appreciate the comments 'cause I'm not an expert & didn't have a reason, but as I said earlier I think it's Ry. Thank you so much for your input. I makes very good sense! Barbara

  • whats that sound cracking? :o

  • @getlow94 I'm not sure. I got comments concerning if this is Ry or not. I think it is right now, but will relabel or take off if I find it isn't. I'm wondering if it's a private copy that got out by mistake. Several of my friends have it also, I found out. They think it's Ry also, but we are not music reviewers. Thanks for asking. It doesn't bother me, since it's not a scratched cd, but the workmanship and talent do sound like Ry. Please let me know if you find different. Moppet (Barb)

  • @MyMoppet52 This sounds the same as the vinyl version from the 1970s I have. The clicks are the frets and I always assumed the cracking sounds were a leather guitar strap. I have often heard this same sound when watching live music that was miked. It could even be an old wooden chair or floor.I hope that makes sense.

  • @jlbachs Thank you so much! I really, really appreciate your comment. This perhaps clears up some of the comments I've had. Another person also mentioned that Ry might have been trying to come up with the original sound. Both your comments have merit & also make me feel better. I'm not a music expert. I just love music!!! I've been a fan of Ry's forever & I'm 59. To me, this is Ry. I thank you for your explanation & think this is it! My very best to you, Barbara

  • @getlow94 I think the cracking is the sound of the slide hitting the frets of the guitar.

  • @getlow94 Suggestions by other listeners: 1. It could be Ry trying to mimic blind willy exactly..which would include the noise scratch and dirt...sounds like it's a live version too! 2.This sounds the same as the vinyl version from the 1970s I have. The clicks are the frets and I always assumed the cracking sounds were a leather guitar strap. I have often heard this same sound when watching live music that was miked.

  • @getlow94 Part 2...It could even be an old wooden chair or floor.I hope that makes sense.jlbachs 3. I think the cracking is the sound of the slide hitting the frets of the guitar.muntigu Moppet...I hope some of these suggestions might make some sense of the sounds. My best, Moppet

  • OH yeahhhhhh!

  • @RAMLIA1 All Right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for listening and commenting. I really appreciate comments & that you took the time to leave one. Ry Cooder is THE man as far as I'm concerned. (Please, this is not to start a word war to all you fans of other people. I can't get most of my Ry Cooder on utube.)

Thanks for saying 'hi'. My best, Moppet

  • G-R-E-A-T!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @0pus I T-H-I-N-K SO TOO!!! Thank you so much for listening and taking the time to comment. It's nice to hear when people like what you put on & I appreciate it. My best, Moppet (Barbara)

  • ive got a version of ry's and hit sounds alot smoother.

  • @pretty9reenpark4 Hi. I'd love to hear it. I found lots and lots of great music at your place and enjoyed what I heard. I overlooked Ry's version somehow. Please send it to me or even post it as a "Reply" video (or whatever it is they call it.). I love to have other versions on my videos. Some people don't. I sure do. Great music is always welcome here. Thanks for stopping and also for commenting. My best to you, Moppet

  • are you sure this ry cooder i love ry and have listened to many recording an this sounds rather sloppy to be him with all the buzz and hitting frets. im not slatting just an opinion cheers andy

  • @pretty9reenpark4 I put this on my computer in the old days & don't have my back up info. I'm sorry. Yes, Ry is usually a lot smoother, but I do think it's him. If anyone can help out, I'd be happy to change it. I cannot put the album or tape it is from to the piece, so there is the chance it is not him. I'd be happy to have video responses though. I've asked for them for other songs & artists. I enjoy responses. Thanks for asking. Sorry I can't help more. My best, Moppet (Barbara)

  • Holy shit, Ry Cooder is the fucking man. I think I would sell my soul to play guitar like he can.

  • @HaraldJoe69 He pretty much is! A few years ago they might have accused him of selling his soul for his guitar skills. I'm glad you found this and think he's as good as he is. Some people don't really appreciate him. Thanks for stopping and come by to listen whenever you want. (I am trying to get lots of his stuff on, but keep getting blocked. I keep trying.) My best to you, Moppet (Barbara)

  • Nicely done.

It was Willie Johnson's version that went on the Voyager.

  • @stmojo I am so sorry!!! THANK YOU for pointing out my mistake. I did know that, but I also make lots of mistakes. I usually upload until 4-6 am on little sleep (insomnia), so towards the end of the day I am a bit loopy. I am changing my info and do appreciate your comment very much! My best, Moppet (Barbara)

  • Man, this needs more views.

  • @TheJustRooster Yes, it does. Ry Cooder is an absolute genius on this, as he is on most everything he plays. He doesn't just 'go for the commercial hits'. I just started uploading a couple of months ago & don't have a big following. Pop seems to be the big demand these days for views...so I figure "Quality" is better than "Quantity" (as far as views go!). As long as good music is out, that's what counts. Thank you so much for stopping by for a 'listen'. Come back anytime! Moppet (Barb)

  • @TheJustRooster Hello. You commented on my Ry Cooder - Dark Was the Night a few months ago. Just wanted to update you. There are more views now. I think there were very, very few when you stopped by. I don't have the views on anything but The Long Riders soundtrack that are very high, but Ry is getting quite a few more views. He got out of the double digits and actually is doing good for my channel. Wanted you to know. Ry's the man!!! Moppet (Barbara)
