  • This band makes sounds that I like.

  • Youtube is working for me now! I searched for alot of similar bands a while back and here was this gem in the seggestion box. Now all I need is to get over me 'Heavier enough?' complex and I've found a new band! Huzzar!

  • never enough love for this band!

  • I cant get enough of this album...

  • oh by the way, anyone wondering, the beginning is 23/8.

  • Incubus meets Mars Volta?

  • @ijaclyn you fucking retard!

  • @emarosaboi My apologies. Didn't realize my comment was offensive...

  • i was suggested by a friend to listen to this; now ima start by saying im a character hwo listens to Ministry, NIN, Disturbed, KMFDM, Rob Zombie, SOAD, Metallica, etc etc... but i trust the guy and his taste in music, and although the flow of guitar and such sounds very nice...i cant get over how...not right this vocalist sounds =/

  • @MrKathaar The beauty of something different.

  • @MrKathaar What does "not right" mean?

  • @MrKathaar

    not right? explain.

  • @MrKathaar im sorry, sorry you have such shit taste in music lmao. this is the essence of beauty.

  • @MrKathaar Ministry is...... okay. NIN is just like Manson, all just a large gimmick; shock value. Not original. I used to listen to Disturbed, so I can't say anything bad about them. Don't know who KMFDM is, I'll search them. Rob Zombie is okay. The only good song SOAD ever did was chop suey. Metallica is okay, I much prefer Slayer. Not right? Don't tell me you're saying what I think you're saying......

  • @TDWPIzAwesome NIN is not just like Manson, you simply can't define the difference because you think Disturbed is/was worth listening to. SOAD had an entire album before Toxicity that was good and had multiple songs worth listening to. Toxicity, on the album of the same name, is worth a listen.

  • @MrKathaar wow KMFDM sucks.

  • Best song off of the whole album IMO

  • I find this so much better than Chinchilla.. how does it have less views ?

  • best song ever!

  • Ill be in school listening to this and someone will ask me " whatcha listenin to" and i will say " This town needs guns" and they will be like " Whats that? Never heard of it!?!" and ill be like " its math rock bro! your sooo missing out" and they will listen to it and they will be like " That is pretty sick! i love it"

  • @jqw1295 WOWEE, THAT WAS A COOL AND INTERESTING STORY!

  • @jqw1295 Damn son, that's one amazing story you got right there.

  • @BlckComb 23/4, if I remember it right from the tab

  • @XMagicanX I'm not sure if that even exists? I think it would be some bars of 12/4 then a time sig switch in the next bars to 11/4. Or something similar to that.

  • 25/8 or some kind of subdivision thereof?

  • Good band, the voice kinda ruins it cause the instrumental is awesome. But still all good.

  • @sabk24 No way, the vocals suit it so well. Imagine if the vocals were fast paced? It woulnd't go with the style. The off putting vocals balance the catchy, quick pace of the song.

  • @sabk24 The instrumental is awesome but the voice connects everything and makes the song a unity, otherwise only professional musicians and music geeks would dig this. (I'm the 2nd one :p). Listen to The fall of troy - mouths like sidewinder missiles, it's the same concept and I love it =)

  • @rockdoesntdie ahh the vocals add nothing in my personal opinion, there is a huuge amount of instrumental math rock out there that is just mindblowing :)

  • Bought a CD off ebay, the person who sent it to me told me to listen to this.. i like it! Listening to strangers can be good..

  • mate just showed this band, frikkin awesome, all the best shit is under the radar

  • oooo, my ears are noming.

  • this guitarist is too good to even listen to, fuck

  • Listened to this song for literally 2 seconds. Getting the album as I speak.

  • it feels like 4/4 then at other points it feels like 7/8

  • the first time I heard this, I had automatically jizz-faced because of how awesome that intro riff is

  • i really dont like the vocals, the music is amazing though

  • @UserAccountNames they are getting the vocalist from pennines soon.

  • @Lawlbunnies the vocalist from pennies is a lot better than this but id rather have someone else idk

  • 7 people have aids

  • pretty sure this is 23/4 time signature guys ;). Amazing song. This band is so talented.

  • my faveorite song on the album!!!!!!!!!!

  • 0:01 <-- Click to repeat.

  • It just two bars of 4/4 then a bar of 14/16

  • I rage faced at the intro riff!

  • my nickname for the longest time was baboon ! lol ... and i love that this masterpiece is called baboon .

  • can't fap...must..finish..song..first..ahhh

  • reminds me a little of something like battles, which is a good thing

  • Can you imagine even trying to play in 5/7? (whatever that actually is)

  • Hahahahahaa... 5/7......

  • I feel so stupid for forgetting the name of this band!

  • wierd guitar man...

  • I hated his voice at first as well. But I listened to them more and more and I love it now. Once you realize that he can probably sing better than yourself its not so hard to come around. Try to imagine the singing any other way it just dosnt work. His lyrics are also pretty badass. And lastly being from the UK gives his singing that British ass accent. So yeahahavsvwvwjsjs I can't wait for what ttng puts out next its going to be just as amazing I am sure

  • i wish i didnt have to hear his voice so much. the guitar work is so phenomenal. but ive heard that voice in so many places. no zest. i dont really sense fire in it anywhere. but i hear a water fall in the guitar... and someone in a kayak going over it.

  • This is beauty and technicality so beautifully intertwined, chills down my spine every time.

  • the fall of troy, glassjaw, and this band FTW

  • @KAVEH08 I love this band and Fall of Troy. I also started listening to DanceGavinDance a while ago. I never thought I would like them, but I do admit they are pretty good.

  • holy fuck this is awesome

  • what genre is this :o

  • @GrindWithUs Math Rock/ Indie

    Best. Genre. Ever.

  • @MrBearemy bit of awesomeness personified

  • @MrBearemy indie yes but what the hell is math rock? seriously all these stupid subgenres mean nothing. they are just redundant, often retarded, and completely useless

  • @OfficialAtramental Math rock is switching time signatures, and using complex rythms, I do agree a lot of sub genres are useless.

  • @OfficialAtramental most subgenres are a bit ridiciulous, but math rock is alright, i think, it has quite a specific meaning.

  • Comment removed

  • @OfficialAtramental Before you jump to conclusions about things you dont understand take a minute to research. Math rock is a real genre. its called math rock because it is not in the traditional 4/4 time signature. they play in complex polyrythems such as 4/4 5/7 7/4 etc.

  • @mrTWATSTER christ dude i know what it means. it just seems redundant to keep coming up with new genres every time someone plays a different chord or signature or instrument. this band could be called indie rock and it would fit just fucking perfectly. im sure the majority of people dont go out of their way to look for weird time signatures, so if anyone is one of the select few that appreciate good drummers, then they will catch it and everyone else can just whatever. lol

  • @OfficialAtramental its just being specific not redundant. Myself and plenty of my friends that are all musicians are just simply not impressed by 4/4 and Were into "math rock". well i guess math rock isnt for the common person. it takes a while to be able to comprehend it to its full potential.

  • @mrTWATSTER i think your a pompous little cunt to be honest, how about you stop arguing over it and just enjoy the music?

  • @mrTWATSTER 4/4 isn't complex, 5/7 isn't a real time signature, rhythm is spelt like that and you got poly rhythm and time signature mixed up.

  • @Circa2Circa 5/7 is a real time signature. Imagine a beat divided into 7 beats, or septuplets, in contrast to eighth notes or sixteenth notes. Take five of those septuplets before each count repeats and you got yourself 5/7

  • @toastyrolla Nah it's not. What you are actually describing would be oddly grouped and accentuated septuplets which applies only to one beat. There is no such thing as a 7th beat so 5/7 cannot exist.

  • @Circa2Circa since when is there no such thing as anything in music?

  • @jdotpdot he's right, just leave it.

  • @jdotpdot There's no point in even saying that because things in music don't exist for reasons. Like this supposed magical occurance of the 5/7 time signature, it is possible to play something that sounds like it but technically it is not as I explained in my previous comment. But as a musician and I'm pretty sure other professional musicians would agree, being able to invent anything is a rediculous concept. Now will everyone just enjoy this amazing song!!

  • @Circa2Circa All this time signature talk is ruining the music... the whole argument is taking the guitarists creativity and way of playing and turning it into a series of flowing notes played at a fixed rate. If you people see no problem with that then I feel sorry that you can't enjoy music comparable the level of people that listen to mainstream garbage can, which is probably why bands like these stay underground.

  • @TheSameAsOpposite

We're all enjoying it, part of music is understanding how it comes to be; in this case exploring aspects of time signatures.

If you don't have an enquiring mind, you can't fully enjoy creativity.

  • @Circa2Circa that was contradictory, since when does labeling something help you enjoy the creativity of it?

  • @TheSameAsOpposite

Since when is analysing music for pleasure such a big deal to everyone?

It's more understandable when people get annoyed about genres because bands can play in whatever style they want etc etc... But learning about how musicians do something helps you appreciate it. As a musician myself, I feel I can fully appreciate ths music after I learn how it comes to be.

  • @Circa2Circa that's understandable, but when you find a song as good as this and listen to the musical quality as the band overall then scroll down to the comments, it really takes it down a few steps when the majority of feedback people can give is arguments about time signatures

  • @TheSameAsOpposite Think of it as an online music lesson rather than an argument then ;)

  • @Circa2Circa lol did you get a boner when you 'owned' that guy? Fucking dorks

  • @TheMagicOrca lol did you get a boner when you tried to 'own' me? I never tried to own anybody, I was just putting a valid musical point across him to consider so he could improve his views and understanding on the matter, that way he will never make a similar mistake again. It's why means such as this have been established over the internet; so people can help each other. You do, however, get smart arses like you who try to ruin the nature of the intended purpose.

  • @Circa2Circa I did not get a boner, no. Plus, you can't blame a guy for assuming the worst in people on the internet! I do agree with your corrections. I wish youtube would show the original comments.

  • @TheMagicOrca Yeah, I didn't do it to be a cunt, I just hate it when people post utter shite and people read it and think: Oh it's on YouTube, it must be correct. I believe the original comment was just a list music errors/impossibilities.

  • @mrTWATSTER 5/7....? I think you mean 5/4

  • @mrTWATSTER

they play in complex 'time signatures' polyrhythms are completely different, a polyrhythm could be described as several rhythms contrasting with eath other, you could also mention the 'cross rhythm' effect you get from doing these types of polyrhythm, they also rely alot on practicing your independence exercises,

as for Math Rock, I think so many different genre's like this span mainly, from progressive but I can deffo agree with you on that, Math Rock/Math Core/Tech Metal etc

  • @OfficialAtramental blame social culture for that, often genre's are created from a fanbase point of view, so many different genre's come from others and usually end up being there through influence or fanbase.

  • @KAVEH08 lol...Duke Nukem

  • Great

  • how could anyone not like this.makes me wanna chew bubblegum and kick some ass

  • I'd say I've added 1,000+ views to this. So good

  • get rid of the singer!~

  • I love this.

  • Holy shit-cookies, this band is sooooooo mint. *u* Where have they been all my hipster life?

  • @arngrim12 fucking hipsters.....

  • @shitkiiid Bitches can't listen to decent music without feeling like gods for doing so.

  • this is incredibly beautiful. i am astonished at their talent. so glad i just found this band.

  • This video has 0 dislikes. That says something profound.

  • @GodG4m3r After mentioning that, some faggot appeared and gaved "dislike". Sad.

  • @GodG4m3r :( theres three now...

  • Spread this band. I am SO blessed to be able to listen to this, and everyone I show loves them. Man, I could listen to Animals back to back forever.

  • @TheDanoll i have been since i found out about them the other day.

  • why is it that lady gaga and just bieber release shit and make shit tons of money and fame when a band like this goes virtually un noticed its ridiculous

  • @ilovegibsons1

Lady Gaga actually has some pretty cool stuff.

  • @PVK112 ya true but yoill never hear it on the radio

  • @ilovegibsons1: Hear this on the radio? Of course you won't. God damn me if I don't think this is absolutely incredible, but the sad truth is that the vast majority of people don't think so. As fans of this band we are but a single skin cell on the gigantic hand that is music.

  • @PVK112 so true man it sucks

  • @PVK112 that analogy is glorious lol every time i get smashed at a party i interrupt the music to announce this is the best band ever...

    then i play crocodile.

    then chinchilla.

    then everyones feelin it

so we go all the way through animals

  • @ilovegibsons1

Even though I agree, it would be very nice to hear great music like this on the radio, I really like that not many people know about these sort of bands. It makes it a little more exclusive. And then the reactions I get when I show my friends this music.. not all of them will like it but I'd say at least half of them (the open-minded ones who aren't caught up in fist pumping techno and mainstream junk) really get into it. So feel good! You're one of the few lucky ones.

  • This is just such a GOOD song ! just SO good!

  • they're just so fucking good

  • @TonyGelormino agreed!

  • 23/8 ftw

  • @JorenCarlson Math rock is crazy dope.

  • this town needs guns and maps & atlases should join forces to make a band so great it defies all properties of mathematics.

  • @rallychild ....no. lol. try american football.

  • This song leaves me speechless every time i hear it!!!! LOVE it.

  • @ShinyGunsSerenade

    agreed

  • damn! =|

    i love this song

  • Oh, good Christ... 2:43 sickest break ever. Ever.

  • @IAmTolsonAiles

  • @Pantera411

What Key is it tuned in?

did you learn by tab or ear?

  • @thisryanneedsguns It's not tuned in any standard tunings >.<

  • @TheSAEmusic

Yeah, but like I know 26 is dancier is basically open G, except you drop the sixth string a step.

  • @Pantera411 Wish i could play that on drums :P (half way there though)

  • @Pantera411 Bullshit, pics or it didn't happen.

  • @Pantera411 me three :D
