okay man please answer my questions..lol okay. my gf's dad bought one of these. and it says 58 cal. so is it .577 or .575? and what size caps do you use?
@ibanezkid07 I prefer to use the 575's, make sure they are greased up. I use No. 1081 Vorderlader-Zundhutchen size caps. they are the best caps ever made.
@ajajfuj YES ... the 577 cal booooomm... makes a nice sound...
you should here the 630gn minnie crash through the scrub.... 10 years back...... ,my first black powder gun .was a 577 enfield musketoon......it got me addicted to blackpowder...... modern smokeless guns,.. dont do much for me anymore....
@JimmyMSIurine jimmy jimmy jimmy,,. nice comeback....but that reb..got in first & outflanked you.....as you already know..in battle theres ...no prises for second...
@sheepsfoot2 first of all tha wasnt meant as a comeback, and second, are you even a Civil War reenactor? and third, learn to spell "Prizes". now come to think of it ur probably a darned southerner with no education whatsoever.
I used FFg, Goex Black Powder. Also, i use bore butter, using bore butter, you could shoot a good 65 rounds without cleaning. Without it, maybe 15-20.
Wow that recoil was wild. What amount of powder and what kind of did you use? Seemed to burn quite fast compared to what I use (ought to be similar to "correct" slow burning ones of the mid 19th century).
for all those people that have muskets and looking for the minie ball they don't make them in stores. you have to make them yourselfs. They are easy to make all you need is a melting pot. mould and soft lead. I make my own and then theres an North and south skirmish association member that make bullets i have to find it. so i will come back and post it
this is a springfield not an enfield

@john25226 no, this is an enfield. I bought it I would know.
MMSMikey 5 months ago
@john25226 the gun is silver and enfields are not silver they are black
john25226 5 months ago
@john25226 I removed the black paint from my enfield years ago

@MMSMikey oh ok

Exactly why the Civil War went bad for everybody involved. Using old outdated musket-oriented tactics with accurate rifle muskets.

Based on seeing this video, it looks like these muskets have a lot of kick. Is this true because I plan on shooting an enfield soon.
TheM1Master 1 year ago
@TheM1Master not really, they have almost no kick at all, im a reenactor, and i own an enfield and it barely kicks

Nice one. I have an 1862 Civil War Enfield but it's too valuable to fire.
