  • this is a springfield not an enfield

  • @john25226 no, this is an enfield. I bought it I would know.

  • @john25226 the gun is silver and enfields are not silver they are black

  • @john25226 I removed the black paint from my enfield years ago

  • @MMSMikey oh ok

  • Exactly why the Civil War went bad for everybody involved. Using old outdated musket-oriented tactics with accurate rifle muskets.

  • okay man please answer my questions..lol okay. my gf's dad bought one of these. and it says 58 cal. so is it .577 or .575? and what size caps do you use?

  • @ibanezkid07 I prefer to use the 575's, make sure they are greased up. I use No. 1081 Vorderlader-Zundhutchen size caps. they are the best caps ever made.

  • @MMSMikey thank you!!!!!!

  • Please, which minie mold you use ?? I just bough an armi sport 1853. Thanks !!

  • @mfsm67 i use the .575's from dixiegunworks greased up in bore butter. mine is an armi sport as well.

  • Based on seeing this video, it looks like these muskets have a lot of kick. Is this true because I plan on shooting an enfield soon.

  • @TheM1Master not really, they have almost no kick at all, im a reenactor, and i own an enfield and it barely kicks

  • i just got this gun at Gettysburg during the reenactments.

  • Very powerful shot.

  • Nice one. I have an 1862 Civil War Enfield but it's too valuable to fire.

  • Nice sound!

  • @ajajfuj YES ... the 577 cal booooomm... makes a nice sound...

you should here the 630gn minnie crash through the scrub.... 10 years back...... ,my first black powder gun .was a 577 enfield musketoon......it got me addicted to blackpowder...... modern smokeless guns,.. dont do much for me anymore....

  • I love my enfield i used it to kill rebel scum

    10th Illinois Infantry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @JimmyMSIurine jimmy jimmy jimmy,,. nice comeback....but that reb..got in first & outflanked you.....as you already know..in battle theres ...no prises for second...

  • @sheepsfoot2 first of all tha wasnt meant as a comeback, and second, are you even a Civil War reenactor? and third, learn to spell "Prizes". now come to think of it ur probably a darned southerner with no education whatsoever.

  • @JimmyMSIurine it was just a joke,, Jim....yes i"m from down south ..way south...

Melbourne..Australia.. love to join in ..BUT..being an ex-farm boy...i have to ..don the grey ..mate.

    keep your powder dry Jimmy...

  • @sheepsfoot2 Are you a Civil War reenactor or not?

and melbourne is beautiful by the way

and i didnt understand ur joke, please explain

  • I used FFg, Goex Black Powder. Also, i use bore butter, using bore butter, you could shoot a good 65 rounds without cleaning. Without it, maybe 15-20.

  • mad. a friend of mine has one but needs a kit for it yet, cant wait to see him shoot it.

  • its an armi sport replica, i got it about 15 years ago, still works like a dream.

  • I have an original 1847 Springfield, .69 cal smooth bore. Still works and I carry it into battle with me against the yankee scum! :D

  • its concered a 1842 not a 1847 i have the same gun orginial as well. shoot my for competetion wiht the north and south skirmish association

  • hey MMSMikey, where did you get that Enfield? is it a Navy Arms replica?

  • Wow that recoil was wild. What amount of powder and what kind of did you use? Seemed to burn quite fast compared to what I use (ought to be similar to "correct" slow burning ones of the mid 19th century).

  • for all those people that have muskets and looking for the minie ball they don't make them in stores. you have to make them yourselfs. They are easy to make all you need is a melting pot. mould and soft lead. I make my own and then theres an North and south skirmish association member that make bullets i have to find it. so i will come back and post it

  • Google Dixie Gun Works

  • ya minie balls .577 for an enfield but online store do u know of any

  • what are you looking for? minnie balls? black powder? percussion caps?

  • minie balls

  • where do u get ur ammunition because i have looked everywhere is there anywhere online u know of

  • Great video, and a great musket
