The Slavs werent even in the Balkans at the time of Kosovo, before they barged their way down south to avoid the Mongols enslaving them! Then they did it to others! KOSOVO IS ILLYRIAN/ALBANIAN, the last vestiges of the Illyrian tribes! Tito made a real bloody mess of things for "his own personal gain!"

As Much as I love Chomsky I have to disagree with him here! The facts are that Kosovo is Albanian land, essentially Illyrian land to the Illyrians of the ancient & Byzantine years! The Serbs who are Slavs werent even in the area at the time! They came south CENTURIES LATER FROM POLAND! IN FACT THEYRE NOT EVEN THE NATIVES! It was right to get the Serbs out of there! Then Kosovo could be given back to the Albanians/Illyrians! The Slavs are the blatant thieves here! But YOU HAVE TO KNOW UR HISTORY

You can argue here whatever you like but NATO, EU and US was inlvolved in helping all parts be armed and politically supported all separatists and made the separation and recognition of new states i incredibly urgent (two weeks for recognition of Croatia, while Catalans and Basks in Spain wait 50 years for the same thing). That was the cause of bloodshed, unjustified urgency.

I personally agree with all that wars the US gets involved. It isn't the way you think it is. The US just has a policy to remove socialism, dictators, etc., everywhere they can. And I agree with that. They spread democracy (freedom for people) that way.

The problem is that we had more democracy in a socialist regime than in today's american democracy. I wasnt a slave in socialism, I had provided schooling, job, healthcare the lot. Whereas in your fucked up country ppl fail to make ends meet even with 2 jobs, streets are full of crime. We didnt have that in socialism. U call US a democracy? You are delusional.

I lived in socialism. It was in Poland before 1989, and believe me, it was not fun. There was nothing to eat in shops and poor quality of everything. Now, in 2008 it's far better. I agree that there should be income taxes and healthcare should be paid from taxes, when your life is in danger (or probably a half of hospitals should be paid from taxes, something like that). But general socialism is a bad solution, as well as total freedom (like in UAE, but that's a different story).

Just because you guys were abused by the Soviets, does not mean you should love USA and claim that what they do is for the sake of democracy, when it clearly is not. In Yugoslavia, socialism was great. YOu had a guaranteed job that u could lose only due to disciplinary measures taken against you. You couldn't just get let go from work and there was not much crime. Poland's shops are full but who is producing that and how much is the national debt climbing thanks to 'democracy'?

I don't agree that socialism in Yugoslavia was great. Milosevic was a dictator responsible for masacre in Srebrenica, killing around 8000 Bosiaks, and others. BTW. polish economy is not that bad and national debt was made in social years.

Milosevic did not make massacre in Srebrenica, and it wasnt 8000 Bosniaks it was like 2000 and that was Serb retaliation to 'Bosniak' soldiers slaughtering 3000 our civilians around Srebrenica. I read about Slovakian economy and how 'well' they r going now that they r in EU. Dont judge an economy solely based on GDP.

So please provide sources for that information about Srebrenica, because I don't think it's true. And about Slovakia, they have a lots of foreign direct investment and they are currently in sustained high economy growth. So it's a good condition. I don't judge economy only on GDP. I think you are a kind of socialists` propaganda agent.

Pivkan likes playing with numbers. 2000 instead of 8000 makes the slaughter great, a retaliation makes it even greater. I don't think Milosevic can be involved in a discussion about socialism...don't mix argumants. Yugoslavian (SFRJ) socialism was totalitarian so I don't se how can it be great. Newertheless You are right to piont out the great problem the USA has, especially in their political sistem...

Yes it is totalitarian but what do i care whether I can vote if my living standards are better in socialist Yugoslavia then in democratic US. Thats my point. In that situation I would pick dictatorship. BTW i am not a die hard fan of any system or ideology, they can all be misused in practice.

No i cant. My country was communist but became socialist. Even after this, one man was in charge, his statues were everywhere but the economy and everything else functioned like in socialism.

I am not playing with numbers the Bosnians and those that support them are. They dug up entire Srebrenica and found 2000 bodies many of which died during fighting in 92,93,94 and 95. Amongst those found are Bosnian Muslims, Serbs, soldiers and civilians. How can you disregard the facts?

Drop it man... these people know nothing except for what they see on TV. You can't argue with them... they are so strongly indoctrinated in certain ways that you simply can't reason with them. They are too blind and ideologically tied down. Even if you told them that those who supposedly protect "democracy" are breaking international law with EVERY action in world affairs they would still drool around and yell "we are free".

Yugoslavia was the last socialist country in Europe that need to be dismantled

Genocide in kosovo or not for what Milosevic did in slovenia croatia and bosnia he sure was a war criminal exept that they tried him for the one crime he didnt commit. One Example is : yugoslav army bombed (grounded )civillian aircrafts during the 10day war with slovenia. (Attacks on civillian aircrafts are prohibited by special international laws.)..

Whatever his involvment in srebrenica was he wasnt exactly a benovelent president.
