  • Is that a marshall haze?

  • @stoofbuis No. The Haze has the controls on the top of the amp. That looks like a DSL combo.

  • @stoofbuis Actually, that isn't a DSL. I can't figure out what it is. It kind of looks like an old JCM800 split channel combo, but I can't tell for sure.

  • Jeff is so tall, the guitar looks minuscule on him. I am a tall man too and I like small and light guitars, so I picked up a nice caramel burst ES-339 (over the larger 335) last year, to complement my SG 61 RI. Love the guitar. Gibson rocks, Pevar blues!

  • Peev is the man.....

  • Les paul or nothing. Well, maybe the 339.

  • Great presentation, great guitar player.

  • DaMn this guy can play nice. He has some really nice bonamasseque tones and the slide was killer too. My only complaint was that phaser in the beginning otherwise awesome :)

  • Too much effects man...Let's hear the guitar.

  • @Juda0326 Can hear it just fine .. luv the effects in addition

  • what mic are you mic'ing the marshall combo with?

  • less effects dude. effects mask the true tone of the guitar. and thats why i clicked on the vid. to hear the 339. not a phaser pedal.

  • what model amp was he playing on? is it a solid state?

  • this guitar can sound like a les paul and a 335. mind. blown.

  • Pevar is so f-ing good, so underrated. I catch him whenever he's around CT. Oh, yes!!

  • Yes, using practice to nail basic technique, then when performing the magic occurs and you play totally differently-save the energy for the gig!

  • Gosh what a name dropper...

  • That was the best damn guitar demo ive ever witnessed EVER!

  • This video made me break down into the fetal position screaming "I WANT IT, I WANT IT, I WANT IT!!!!!!"

  • This is some the best guitar playing I've heard.

  • What model Marshall amp is that?

  • The best sounding and playing Gibson I've ever owned.

  • what amp is he using?

  • @joacka Kinda looks like a Vintage Modern. Under the lights the tolex appears purple, like the VM.

  • He said some of the truest words in music. The music comes through you, the music plays you... If you you ever played with a band, you know what it feels like. It's just one of the strongest feelings you can get.

  • Jeff,I remember you from your cable TV's guitar lessons,Gibsons are great, but, you haven't played anything until you've played a Carvin CT6 or SH645, makes Gibson seem as over priced as they really are. No reason at ALL to $5000 for any guitar!

  • Yesterday I sorta wanted and ES-339 but after watching this video I think it is safe to say it is my dream guitar.

  • Great playing, love this guitar. I just wish this guy would turn down the delay effect

  • great video and an amazing guitar but that "Keith Richards tone" was terrible O_o I have no doubt the guitar could get that tone though

  • this is one of the very best gear demo's of any kind i have seen here on ye olde Youtube. superior guitar and quite obviously a superior player. Right On guys!!!!

  • @richfiryn no I'm wrong its like 1600 on ebay which is an awesome deal

  • is this guitar really only $1,999?

  • what a hot guitar!!! i want one!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Jeff you rock like a mo fo from rock n roll heaven!

  • Damn...Jeff is FIERCE! Way to go MF getting a proper dude to do your demos.

  • his ring finger is so huge, that the brass slide does not slide past the second knuckle. Wow, I never seen that before.

  • @gamergeek3000 it's supposed to be like that. I've got small hands and I can barely get a slide past my second knuckle, you're not supposed to wear a slide that far down. go watch a video of derek trucks or duane allman. This guy does have long fingers though, but nothing crazy

  • @NewMusicSpacequake I think I play like that too, I think I am just use to playing with a bottleneck, and the brass slide does not look that big.

  • @NewMusicSpacequake It still looks wierd, maybe his fingers are just really long.

  • That clean tone sounds great! I want one!

  • i saw the 13 minutes and i thought i wasnt going to watch the whole video but i couldnt stop

  • god Jeff makes that thing look like a toy

  • What pedals are you using?

Do you thing that the ES339 sounds good with a Princeton reverb RI?

  • What pedals are you using?

  • What a great bargain the es339!

    Wonderful playing and sound.

  • Here's what you do... imagine t that Jeff is a 10' giant playing a full-sized 335. You may need supplemental herb or other substance to maintain the illusion . Also - without coil taps etc -this is just your average Gibby humbucker sounds. The first surgery I'd do would be 4-wire p-ups with coil taps.

  • is the sound of a ES 339 different from a ES 335?

  • @PF1964 Yes. It tends to be a bit brighter. Personally, I think the 335 is better at classic Chicago blues and jazz, whereas the 339 excels at bareknuckle modern blues and classic rock tones. The 339 REALLY likes to be overdriven.

  • amp?

  • @greeeenmachine It looks like on of those Marshall Artist 30 amps made in the 1980s. They were made with a tube power amp and solid state preamp.

  • The man is incredible isn't he? Back in the day, he played with his band at my best friend's wedding. I stood there amazed for so long. At one point he was asking people to shout out a guitar player and he played in that style. Just amazing.

  • how does he play like that w/o a pick ??!

  • This is one of the most complete and good demos about this guitar on YouTube until now. It's a shame the lack of "natural sound" and quality...

  • It's official.....Jeff Pevar has the best job in the world, period.

  • @guitarguy97 Yeah, we'd probably agree.

  • what modulation type effect is this guy using?

  • If the Fonze & Daniel Day Lewis were blended together Jeff Pevar would be the resulting product.

  • @MELLSBAD Reminds me more of Bruce Dern..

  • great demo... really dig this axe... hopefully I can buy it soon... the tone is very rich and I bet with a compressor on top of that and a little delay... WOOOOW

  • What a great demo. Thorough, varied, and by an articulate, experienced player!
