GUYS I NEED HELP.I CANT CONNECT MY POD STUDIO UX 2 TO MY MAC BOOK PRO.WHEN I CONNECT THE DEVICE TO MY MAC WITH USB,COMPUTER SAYING I HAVE TO CLOSE THE MACHINE MANUALLY :( CAN ANYONE HELP ME ABOUT THAT.??? THX
I am thinking about getting the UX2 for my laptop so i can record again but with better quality.. Amp, Mic, and Audacity just aren't cutting it anymore. Tried recording from my line 6 to my computer and it was terrible. Hit 1 note and hear it a second later. I don't want anymore of that.
@mx22man I recommend using them together :) like i do. Plug in your guitar to the pod and then the pod to the PC. open your favourite DAW system (pro tools, fl studio, reason, logic, ableton) send the guitar to a mixer track and put guitar rig in the FX stack. then from there create your sound it works very fine :)
So can I plug my guitar into my line 6 spider III amp, and then plug the pod studio gx from the other plug in on my amp and then plug the studio gx to my computer so that I can use my sounds from my regular amp to record with? Sorry if it sounds a little confusing.
@CallOfTheSirens4 Not quite, what this effect does is convert the signal from the guitar pick-up and turn it into a digital signal which is fed in the computer. That's it.
On top of that, the product comes with a software which can manipulate this digital signal in as many effects as you want, literally emulating any pedal/effect you could ever think of.
From the computer it must then be fed back into an amplifying system which can be ur amp, computer speakers or headphones.
I have the line 6 guitar pod ux1. I connect everything there is in the box, i have my usb plugged in, and my headset plugged into the pod, and my guitar in the guitar input. I have installed all the software, but i don't hear any sound... Can someone help me please?
@Metaldude1945 I had this problem too. Download the sound card driver (Line6.com). Start the POD Farm program, and set the inputs (the sound card have 4 input, but you can use 2 in one time). If you want 2 lines at one time, you need to click the dual button. When you finished, set the outputs. You just hear anything when the POD Farm program is running (and just in your UX1 outputs).
I hope I can help you (My english isn't the best, I know :D).
@NiceUjabuja It only works by connecting it to your pc... thats what it does. You plug it in the usb port and run the included program pod farm. In pod farm you can construct tones using simulated amp models and equipment, or choose from a variety of factory preset tones. Its a great tool for recording high quality guitar tracks.
@GoodOldDeathMetal I cant even get the sound of my guitar or mic into my pc. I have instaled all the drivers and I have pluged in my UX1 into my USB port. BUT I CANT GET THE DAMN THING TO WORK!!! PLZ HELP!
@slipknotman012345678 I think you can get your favored sound on both of those things. The studio ux1 or ux2 is made for recording, you need a computer if you want to use it.
The pod is a preamp. Of course it can be used for records too, but you need some additional equipment.
Do you want to have your own "studio" or do you want to play gigs etc.? That's the question you should ask yourself.
@slipknotman012345678 What do you mean with interface? The POD is a preamp so like I said you connect it to a final stage, which can be a power amplifier. You can also connect to your computer speakers or headphones, whatever...
not in podfarm, Podfarm is only use to create the tone. Recording goes tru a DAW like Reaper, FL studio, Audacity, Ableton live to name a few and about the metronome of drums that depends on the DAW.
@RandomDude5656 its not really a plug and listen operation. you will need to have headphones to hear the signals going into the ux2. or you will need to have it connected to your reference monitors.
yeah if you plug headphones in you will be able to hear it.
the out put signals arent going through the usb to your computer and out of your computer speakers, they are going to the headphone jack and to the 2 analog outputs in the back .
on the ux1. they make adapters that are like one dollar that you plug your normal head phone into and then on the other end its a 1/4 jack ( the size of the headphone output on the ux1) you can find these any where really. just ask the people at your local best buy or radio shack.
I have the UX2 and is the shit!!!! everything you can imagine and more right at your finger tips. Every amp and pedal and best of all VERY VERY USER FRIENDLY!!
@AlexDJames Buy the cheapest one; the Line6 Toneport GX. Then, download Amplitube and run your tones from that software; it has way more possibilities than Gearbox.
@Utubesuxmycock with any line6 modeling device (studio pod, gx, X3 etc) you simply connect the DI to your computer, then your speakers/headphones out from the DI... you only use the computer for the front end you see in the video... its ALL you need.. no need for preamps, mics... thats IT.. its actually quite amazing
with the UX2, can you have a whole band playing with their amps and still plug into the UX2? Otherwise the UX2 is useless since would only be able to hear one person at a time.
@IowaRocker81 It can record vocals if you use a Mic. It features the plug for one mic. So the same goes for drums, although I wouldn't recommend it: you need lots of mics to get a drum sound out well.
well, I finally figured it out myself. I had to go to the POD farm programme and there I had to choose the right inputsignal. It was still set on microphone.

sorry for ignorance but i haven't ever use one of this.....
How come when i connect my amp to the ux2, the sound is shit? my amp is on carpet, so maybe that has a difference? idk, but the ux2 sounds like shit when its coming out of my amp. will it be better if i listen with headphones?
1. Does the recording software that comes with this allow you to make your own drum beats? does it come with different type of kits and different drums and cymbals?
2. If I wanted to record a keyboard, would i be able to plug one into the guitar jack and record?
I really need help, i cant get my microphone to work through my UX1, can somebody please help? Or does anyone have any advices for things i could try? Thanks.
i know this seems like a stupid question. I got this for Christmas and the amps and everything sound great. but idk how to record anything with it can someone let me know how??
I have the UX1, podfarm is a joke the amps sounds horrible. Some of the over the top effects sound OK but they don't have a real use. I use it this way. Guitar > BOSS pedals (for the effect I want) > UX1
no disrespect, but if it sounds shitty, then its because you dont know how to dial in a nice tone. I record with the pod all the time and I am happy with the results
i just bought me a ux1 and i installed it but when i speak in the mic or play my guitar or whatever the sound is like a tad behind and its rll irraitating when im trying to keep tempo and stuff, does anyone know what could cause this?
Are there any major differences between UX1 and UX2 apart from extra inputs in UX2 i.e. footswitch? Wondering which one to get cause UX1 is 30 quid cheaper than UX2.
why didnt you use the interface to record you talking? loll....

hi just a couple questions
1. Does the recording software that comes with this allow you to make your own drum beats? does it come with different type of kits and different drums and cymbals?
2. If I wanted to record a keyboard, would i be able to plug one into the guitar jack and record?
thanks

ok i just got the ux2 and i need help. i can use it on the comp with head phones. but how do you use it with an amp? some1 pleease help
Tristonio1108 2 years ago
You can' use it with an amp. The GX, Ux1 and the Ux2 are made for recording and meant a multieffects platform like the regular PODs.

Just open up a recording program like Audacity or Mixcraft, hit record and play.

@supermrguitarman It comes with a programme called ableton I believe. You'll be able to record your music with this..

i'm using a line 6 for all my vids, check it if you wonder if it can do good metal tones.

I have the UX1, podfarm is a joke the amps sounds horrible. Some of the over the top effects sound OK but they don't have a real use. I use it this way. Guitar > BOSS pedals (for the effect I want) > UX1

@roger767 use (cracked or not) guitarrig 3 or amplitube 2 (metal) :P

@roger767
no disrespect, but if it sounds shitty, then its because you dont know how to dial in a nice tone. I record with the pod all the time and I am happy with the results

That's the latency. Try installing Asio sound drivers and using those

Are there any major differences between UX1 and UX2 apart from extra inputs in UX2 i.e. footswitch? Wondering which one to get cause UX1 is 30 quid cheaper than UX2.
